- Sustainable Forest Management is always looking for harmony between economic, environmental and social benefits of forests. Predominance of one of the functions at the expense of the others creates an imbalance with an adverse impact on society.
This principle also remains at the heart of the FOREST EUROPE process as it fulfils its mission, to enhance the cooperation on forest policies in Europe under the leadership of ministers, secure and promote sustainable forest management with the aim of maintaining the multiple functions of forests crucial to society.
The main aim of the movie is to show economic, environmental and social importance of forests. The video is based on infographics used in State of Europe´s Forest 2015, supplemented by pictures from European forests.
Fast growing forests are expanding. Broad-leafed woodland has been decreasing since the 1960 but there is now an effort by some people to turn this around.
well, we now have some organisations planting native forests trying to rebuild ecossystems like mossy earth, it's a good signal I think
How come some of our countries are not taking afforestation seriously?
Forest expanding ...or Monocrop plantation expanding ..a vast difference... Don't misuse the word .
a forest is not a monocrop, if it was monocrop growth, It wouldn't count as forest growth.
@@cesarefildani8260 you know the difference I'm sure
@@aodhfinn I do, and so do most people, exept the chinese, they planted one accindentaly when making their great green wall
@@cesarefildani8260 try telling the Irish media to understand the difference between planted timber crops and real forests ...
@@aodhfinn ok you got a point with them. But otherwise europe's forests are still growing in size
