      Of course, there are many other variations, combinations between the turns.
      Maybe another video with that :D

    One of the nice properties about prep turns I’ve found is that it lets you exit out of moves on 1 that you normally would have to wait until 5 to exit out of smoothly with a normal turn. And vice versa with 5 and 1.

    Great video. I just learnt about the prep turn and wondered how to use it.
    A question on the half turn. How do you stop your partner in the shadow position? Otherwise, if you try it from the open position you enter the pretzel position, or if you try it from the closed position it easily just becomes a basic turn.

    • @MariusElenaBachata
      @MariusElenaBachata  Рік тому +2

      For the half turn, it's very important to create a "stand still" signal using both hands.
      BUT, the easiest method is to stop her, with your right hand on her hip, by creating a barrier (she won't be able to go into the pretzel because you stop her with your right hand)
      Hope this makes sense.
      Maybe we will do a video about this.

    hi, love you guys! have been watching your videos to learn and practice for social dancing. I unfortunately broke my left hand, but I am so addicted that I’m still trying to practice one-handed! If you guys could make a video leading with one hand, that would be amazing 🤩 love you guys!

    • @MariusElenaBachata
      @MariusElenaBachata  Рік тому +3

      Heeey. Sorry you broke your arm. What we recommend for Bachata is to focus on the right hand leading waves, headrolls, isolations. You can dance a full song without the left hand :D

    Can somebody tell me the Name of the move in 2:55 - 3:00? Also, where can I get a tutorial on it??!!! My only guess is that it’s called a Swan Walk? I’m sure I’m wrong.

      It is called an "ocho". Actually a variation of it. It comes, or as I learned it, from Argentinian Tango. Hope it helps 😁🥰

    in 6:11 we can see a mistake in notes on 2 that says: cobmo instead of combo. 1 thing that i want to mention is actually the question: "how can i lead this correct"? so its gonna be more helpfull.

      The guys are developing something, ok? Whether you like it or not. Whether it is naive or even funny sometimes. Whether lots of elements they present have been centuries known from other dances - even from Standard and Ballroom and from TangoArg - with different already stable names and sillabus. They incorporate it all into bachata music. The "true bachata" will keep its niche, but some of their development will survive. And it is good so. I could wish they educate themselves a bit and do not invent so often a dance wheel, but they do much harder part - they expose themselves and keep going. Bravo!

      @Dracu... Do not make yourself funny by hinting you solely in knowledge of what bachata is. The guys definitely dance to bachata music, pitch precisely rhythms and show certain dance technique. You do not like it? Or envy? Just say precisely that. But no claim to be a sole bachata expert please. If criticizing be specific. Do not forget that there is no recognized international body and protected bachata standards. Thus - they develop dance to bachata music, which is - by definition - bachata too. Ok? And may be in future as bachata standard will survive more elements of what they did but not of what you now mean. Ready to accept it?
