      I laughed out loud at this! Snacks are LIFE!! I've started making a lot more breakfast items and snacks since filming this video, but there shall always be a variety of snacks in the pantry. When other kids visit (friend's kids and my nieces and nephews) they always oooh and aaah at the pantry. They can't wait to pick out their snack!

      Hi Cecilia! I agree. This video was filmed 2 years ago, and since the pandemic I have started making more homemade, healthy snacks. We still have some store-bought though. I grew up with parents who didn't cook, so I'm still learning.

    • @stickerbosscreations5306
      @stickerbosscreations5306 2 роки тому

      I was thinking the same thing. I have a kid with ADHD and limiting sugar was a huge help with behaviors and habits. It is difficult to learn good eating habits when you didn't have parents that cooked. I was thinking that it was a lot of canned goods and sugary treats that you were calling breakfast items, but it is evidence of you not learning better eating habits as a child. Learning to be a mom is an ever evolving process and as long as you are open to learning from others, you will be able to make the best choices that you can for your family. I think that the previous person that gave you so much criticism for this, was being pretty rude. She had to turn you off because of it? Lol let her! I'm sorry that she said that to you. I think that the transformation was so satisfying! I am now subscribed.😊

      @@stickerbosscreations5306 Thank you for understanding and subbing! That's amazing! I will have to make a separate video talking a little more about my background, because there are many people who are making assumptions based off of this one video from 2 years ago. While we do still have "junk food" snacks, I have started making lots of them -- never realizing how easy it could be or how much money it would save. I'm an entry-level mom learning as I go. 😄

      @@thenovicemom1093 That is so amazing. I am so glad for the kids and the husband. If your husband is like my husband all he wants is sweets. lol. I hope you didn't take offense as I was not trying to be offensive, just noticing that your pantry looked like my pantry did when I was young. It took years and determination to balance my diet. I still love sweets, but I try to be extra careful.

      @thenovicemom1093  2 роки тому +2

      @@ceciliafuentes3299 I'm not offended at all. Funny you should mention it. My husband is an OLYMPIC-LEVEL snacker. I just keep a thick rubber band around the pantry doors so that the kids can only enter with an adult's help. I am actually pretty strict with pre-packaged snacks these days because it hurts my heart to see beautiful produce go bad. I will upload a more formal intro video for my channel in a few days. 😁

    I wish you the best sweetie with your pantry & refrigerator with so many goodies as your child with Autism gets older. My son started going through our food & eating everything while we slept or throwing it all away at a certain age. We put a monitor at the stairs that would go off, if anyone tried to go downstairs at night. We had an alert monitor in our room. Praise God, that worked. We found a little refrigerator that we can lock & we keep all our yogurts, juice & fruit in it, now that he is an adult.
    We had a locked door pantry, but he kept seeing where we hid our keys or searching for it😃🥰. Around 2 years ago, we cleverly put a keypad on our pantry door. If he happens to figure the code out, we can recode it🥰. I’m giving you all this information, bc we didn’t have anyone to help us when we were struggling with our child (with Autism),destroying/constantly going in our food. He is now 32 & I just wanted to be of help to the younger generation.

      Hello Vickie! I laughed when I read about the padlock on your pantry. I need one for our thermostat when my mom visits! There is a thick rubber band I looped over the pantry door knobs that the kids haven't figured out yet. My autistic son just turned 5 last week, and he's mighty clever. I will keep your helpful suggestions in mind. You sound like an au-some mom! God Bless your family.

      We cook our pork in the oven we roast it, it's not a loin it's a lot bigger we have it with 🍎 Apple sauce, roast potatoes mashed potatoes, and usually 3 veg, carrots, cabbage and cauliflower and gravy but not the kind you have we have a brown meat flavour gravy it's all very 😋 yummy usually eaten on a Sunday, your two boys are very cute I have a black haired brown eyed boy but he is 32 and lives in his own house. 😸 still my boy though enjoy them whilst they are young time fly much too quickly. 💗🌷🌷

    I use the plant trolley trick as well. If it's a solid bottom, use the tiny command Hooks. It's doesn't have to be a solid tight fit, just enough to keep it in place.
    I'm a big fan of decanting or marrying up bags simply because the boxes and bags contain so much empty space. Mac n cheese and hamburger helper fit in a sandwich ziplock bag. I'm able to put 10 in a dollar tree round 4qt cannister.

      Thank you, dear! Butterflies and Bees are VISUAL organizers. Things out of sight are out of mind, so they like clear/transparent containers and open shelving to see all that they have. Butterflies just tend to macro organize (ex. clear bucket with "toiletries" inside), while Bees micro organize (ex. multiple containers, to separate each toiletry - toothpaste, deodorant, soap).

    Wow the difference between the before and after is insane! And the before was already pretty okay by my standards hahaha
    This gives me hope though. I'm currently living with my parents (divorced) while I'm attending uni and my dad's house is just one giant mess. He's the ''I'm done with this, so I'll just toss it out of reach and have it sit there for a week'' kind of person. He prefers piling trash on top of the trashcan because opening the lid is ''too much effort''. I used to be that way too (wonder who I learned that behavior from....) but in recent years I've become a bit more like my mom, who is a very tidy person. Plus due to the nature of my studies, I'm seeing health hazards EVERYWHERE now lol. Our pantry is small and deep, but filled to the brim with.. stuff. I have no idea what's even in the back of the pantry at this point, since the floor hasn't been seen in over a decade.
    Now that Summer is approaching and I'll be at home during the holiday, I'm planning on cleaning and tidying our entire kitchen and bathroom (which honestly hasn't happened since my parents got divorced 11 years ago). It seems like a bit of an impossible task, but I'm hoping that videos like this can motivate me to get stuff done :D

      That sounds like a massive undertaking, friend. I am rooting for you, and know you will get it done. Just take baby steps if necessary. When I met my husband, his apartment was full of TRASH. Empty fast food bags and cups everywhere. Pizza boxes were stacked from the kitchen countertop to the ceiling. Cigarette ash, funk, dust and hair on everything. Funny thing is -- there's no shame to his game. I was mortified and disgusted. He invited me to travel with him to Louisiana over the Thanksgiving holiday to meet his parents, but I had only known him for 3 months so I declined. He let me stay at his place while he was gone, and I cleaned every nook and cranny of that place. It was so spotless when he got home, that he took one step inside and abruptly backed out thinking he entered the wrong apartment. I had to chase him down the breezeway. When I visited his mother's home a year later, I realized she's a slob -- and all the dots connected. HAHA!!! I pray you're doing well in school and life in general, my dear. Stay in touch!

      I tried out ziplock boxes and disposable paper products in those baskets. The paper plates, cuts and utensils fit in the deepest basket just fine. However, the ziplock boxes are too tall for the shallower baskets (they tend to tip out) -- and the opening to pull out bags is blocked when they're placed into the deeper basket. I would not recommend the OTD rack for ziplock/foil products.
