- In todays episode we will review Ajax Motion Protect Curtain.
Outdoor curtain detector creates an invisible veil protecting windows, doors and valued goods from burglars.
MotionProtect Curtain - motion detector with a long distance range and narrow protective screen. Curtain detector effectively protects the property from intruders and works as soon as a burglar enters the protected area. Can be used outdoors and indoors.
It is important to be aware of the possibility of the invasion as soon as possible. MotionProtect Curtain detector will not allow burglars to quietly get close to doors or windows or enter the terrace, even if the area is not fenced.
Indoors MotionProtect Curtain can be installed horizontally, upside down or at the angle. The sensor will monitor all access paths around the clock without reacting on people inside.
Ajax Motion Protect Curtain :
- Ignores dogs, cats, birds, robovacs
- Detects motion up to a distance of 11 meters
- Works up to 3 years without battery replacement
- Can be installed outdoors and indoors
- Operating temperatures from −25°С to +60°С
- Body protection class IP54
The anti-masking system ensures that MotionProtect Curtain is working properly during the day and at night. If the detector is blocked, painted, sprayed or taped, the device sends an alarm signal.

Motion Protect Curtain sensor was developed as outdoor device first. I bought it as an outdoor device and made a video about it. Unfortunately Ajax had to redevelop it and make it for indoor usage due to many outdoor weather events that may lead to false alarms in some cases. So now officially Ajax Curtain is an indoor detector only and in my installations i use it only indoor. I have a couple installations though (like the one in the video) that i used the Ajax Curtain outdoor (in a city balconies or under a pergola where the detector is not exposed directly to the weather events) and i have not any false alarms so far...
Now that you have been using it outside for a long time, are there any problems? false alarms because it is outside ?

and what happens if the burglar mask the sensor with gel or something? the back os the sensor is not secured
on ajax website it says this product is for indoors only
When this video was recorded the Curtain was for indoor and outdoor use. You can see this clearly at the back of the packaging (0:32) in this video. Now the curtain is only for indoor use.
according to the manufacturer it is not intended for the outside use

Now the curtain is no more available and in Ajax's official web site curtain is supposed to be only for indoor use. From my local distributor i learnt that curtain will be available soon for indoor and outdoor use as it was in the beginning! We have just to wait and see!

Does this sensor have the anti mask function? I just bought a indoor model and seems isn't available...
Θα ήθελα να σε ρωτήσω σχετικά με την διάρκεια sleep mode, μιας που το έχεις χρησιμοποιήσει εκτεταμένα. Όλα τα ασύρματα που έχω δοκιμάσει (δεν έχω δοκιμάσει ακόμα της Ajax) για εξοικονόμηση μπαταρίας έχουν μεγάλους χρόνους αδράνειας (από λεπτό μέχρι και εως 3 λεπτά σε ορισμένα μοντέλα), με αποτέλεσμα αν έχεις ένα σύντομο πέρασμα και είναι αδρανές, θα το χάσει.
Οι χρόνοι του πως είναι; θα έλεγες ότι μπορεί να πλησιάσει ένα ενσύρματο αισθητήρα;
Αντίστοιχα τα PIRs της Ajax (απλό και plus) πως συμπεριφέρονται αντίστοιχα στην αδράνεια; μπαίνεις σε ένα δωμάτιο και βγαίνεις γρήγορα, σε πιάνει πάντα; σε ευχαριστώ!
Το response των sensors είναι ουσιαστικά ακαριαίο. Έχω ajax κοντά στα 2 χρόνια. Η μπαταρία δεν έχει κανένα πρόβλημα και πραγματικά πρόκειται για πολύ καλή επένδυση σε ότι αφορά ασφάλεια.

Have you tested Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor or Ajax MotionCam Outdoor? If yes , do you recommend them for exterior use?
I need 2 exterior detectors (probably dualcurtain) and i cant choose between Ajax DualCurtain Outdoor or Optex BXS-RAM with Transmitter Module For Third-Party Detector Integration.
I need something good and reliable but didnt find any reviews for Ajax Outdoor detectors.
We haven't used yet DualCurtain but we use MotionCam Outdoor and it works very well!

Πραγματικά! Στην αρχή ήταν και για εξωτερικό χώρο αλλά είχαν πρόβλημα με το Antimasking!
