Honestly me being from harar not having the chance to sit down and talk to people like you who are software engineers who have the experience in the life am trying to be part of is sad but this podcast has been a good way to look into the world of dev's the first time I found out u were developers i was so happy been listening to the podcast since then don't exactly remember when tho I have watched like 50% of ur podcasts and i really appreciate the effort your all putting into clearing up some crucial points about joining the freelancing path. This man is the real among the guests who you have invited(regarding online work). He talks what he has lived but nothing else. I would love to hear from him again if possible. Please do it I am begging you.
I wish one day I will come back to this video and give testimonials that say "because of this inspirational video I am able to get an amazing freelance job" anyways, for now, I really thank you guys, and keep up your hard work.
i wondered why am i sitting right now while someone some years back who was just the same as i am, was learning in aastu campus just like me in EME, well living like all Ethiopians have put his energy in a well deciplined way and made his life great. Thank you for sharing us there is always an alternative in life, hope i reach u guys with some skillset and capability added.

Great job young men! you guys are the bright future of Ethiopia!!! We will dominate the IT industry world wide. I live in the state and we will be like Indians very soon, dominating the IT industry but still the number of skilled personnel (Ethiopians) are insignificant! Keep on working hard and shinning! yes love money and work hard to get more money in a legal way! subscribed to your channel to support you. Good luck!
Having lived in countries like Hong Kong, Estonia...I rly witnessed the power of freelance, gigs (tech) works to economy. I truly believe freelance tech jobs could bring more forex & creates jobs. I also drafted the ICT park strategy in Eth prioritizing business outsourcing (BPO) as a way out. Thank you guys for the authentic discussion that many of our youth can benefit from it. Cheers!

At 25:00 important points are raised. But all in all good programmers are self-taught. Be it US or Ethiopia or anywhere else, the main objective of universities is credentialism: not to equip students with up-to-date skills. It's upto the student to choose a specific field of interest and hone his/her skills for mastery. This is sadly more prevalent in the programming world. According to Harrari, in the near future coding and software development (at least the ones that require algorithmic thinking) will be one of the few jobs that will not be disrupted by AI. However, even in those areas what was highly demanded last year will be irrelevant after 2 to 3 years. Therefore, programmers will be forced to train themselves continuously just to stay in the same place, which is unbearably exhausting for people past their 40s. I don't want to sound like a buzzkiller but after reading 21 lessons .... I don't see a bright future for people like me, who try to make a living through software development.
Make your discussion to flow. Rambling from one idea to another only makes you unlistenable. Too many clauses and phrases. One person should be able to finish their taught before someone interrupts . Other than that sharing ideas and solutions is very good for a larger debate
really appreciated but still i have a question that isn't answered, how did you get the job at first? how did they reached you if you don't have any portfolio??????
