I have seen other videos for R422D but they never clarified if it needed to be charged in liquid form only for being a 400 series refrigerant. Thanks for clearing this up!!
I would suggest find R22 refrigerant online. Buy it, yes it is expensive but not too expensive as to replace the entire system. Whatever remains keep it for future usage and until you ac breaks. Then you have no choice.
Yea, so professional and proper. Nice and clean. I like to see him be so proper in his procedure in 95 degree temperature with 80% humidity, along with his phone ringing for bitching customers. Taking care of 10 other things in that same day. If new people getting in to this line of work think that this is how it really is in the real world. Huh, there going to get a full eye opener.
No Converting a R22 system to R422D 1) I read 95% polyolester oil (POE) and 5% mineral (old R22 oil) is OK. 2) POE oil is hygroscopic that means the oil should be pumped in and the oil can should not be opened to the air. But great work this is almost unknown by local Hvac companies here in DFW Thank You As a Hvac engineer Open compressor via removing the valve stem. Insert a rubber tube down to the bottom of the compressor Suck out 95% the old R22 mineral oil. Pump in new POE oil Re install valve stem. Purge with dry N2. Vac the system Charge with R422D. Pulling the compressor is not necessary. POE is a better oil for your HVAC system. If your going to change out R22 then it is better to suck out 95 to 100% of the old R22 mineral oil and start fresh with POE.
I've got many rack systems and air conditioners running with r422d and mineral oil and so far no issues. Retrofit was carried out in 2016 and its been 6 yrs with mineral oil.
I don't have a heat pump I live in NYS but I do have a small leak which requires me to add Freon every spring or summer. Question is there a clog up liquid I can use?
Hello people I have several questions about converting a R22 system to any other new refrig type. Q1. Must I have the compresser replaced in order to convert the system? Been told this must be done I have. 3.5 ton goodman scroll compresser condensing unit. The compresser was replaced 2 years ago. Q2. Must the line set be replaced as well? Q3. My goodman air handler says R22/R410 compatible. 3.5 ton as well Q4. How much approx should I expect to pay for this service? Thanks
ALSO IF YOU HAVE A LEAK IN YOU SYSTEM YOU HAVE TO FILL EVERY YEAR IT IS BETTER TO FIND THE LEAK IT ISNT HARD SHOULD BE OIL RESIDUE WHERE HAS BEEN LEAK CLEAN AND PATCH IT,, BUT YES THEY DO HAVE STUFF THAT CAN SEAL LEAKS,, I WOULDNT PUT ANYTHING IN SYSTEM BUT THE REFRIGERANT BUT THEY SAY IS SAFE
ANY BLEND YOU SHOULD CHARGE AS lIQUID,, I USUALLY CHARGE LIQUID WITH EVERYTHING, DEPNDING HOW MUCH IS NEEDED IF PUTTING IN R22 OR A NON BLEND OF COURSE YOU SHOULD CHARGE VAPOR , BUT IF NEED TO DUMP IN ALOT CHARGE LIQUID, JUST DO A LITTLE AT TIME DO NOT FLOOD COMPRESSOR F COURSE
hold on a minute, well about 1 minute and 11 sec. He evacuated the system before removing the old refrigerant? then he is going to recover the old gas, johnStone better re-do this procedure...
Good catch 😂this is an infomercial funded by epa lobbies 😮! Wait til we go back to propane base refrigerants 😮 HISTORY HAS A STRANGE WAY OF REPEATING ITSELF 😮MAYBE WILLIS HAD IT RIGHT TO BEGIN WITH?

That's the sexiest recovery cylinder I've ever seen!
Excellent textbook procedure. Refreshed my skills

As a Hvac engineer
Open compressor via removing the valve stem.
Insert a rubber tube down to the bottom of the compressor
Suck out 95% the old R22 mineral oil.
Pump in new POE oil
Re install valve stem.
Purge with dry N2.
Vac the system
Charge with R422D.
Pulling the compressor is not necessary.
POE is a better oil for your HVAC system. If your going to change out R22 then it is better to suck out 95 to 100% of the old R22 mineral oil and start fresh with POE.
Why do it when you can use this refrigerant or RS44b which is also a direct drop in?

Question to the smart professional man if I leave my AC running while evaporator is frozen will I lose Freon / R22??
Do you know of anyone that does this in Sun City Az area?
OK THANKS FOR YELLING AT ME I NEEDED THAT OK THANKS BYE HAVE A NICE DAY
Can you put in the nu 22b without pulling out the old r22??
Has it been done Yes.... But EPA regulations forbid mixing of any types of refrigerants.
Does it require an oil change

Reclaim the R 22 pull a good vacuum use the pressure temperature chart for the new refrigerant and get down the road. Time a wasting.
ThreePhaseHigh with you on that one

those are some old school micron gauge!
R422d is a low to med temp refrigerant. Isn't residential classified as high temp?
Are there any tax incentives for taking an old (but working) R22 unit out of service and replacing it with a new one (R410)?
