The new growth on the plant should be removed so that most of the energy will go into the mother plant and this result in bigger quality tomatoes. The neem oil mixed with Dawn dish washing soap to spray the leaves will get rid of the pest that is destroying the plants. He should also cut off the low leaves that are touching the ground because they will pick up fungus. Pruning the plants to allow air flow will help to keep the plants healthy and strong. The science is important but the basic knowledge that he has is working for him..can you imagine if he was using both ..
