For anyone who hasn’t been blessed with a home that can host, don’t feel guilty that you’re not “fulfilling Gods word”. This is just not your season. I live in a shed that is incomplete and we’ve been living out of boxes for a year now. It’s not our season to host, but I look forward to the day that we can and what a beautiful picture of what it will look like, thank you milena ❤

I love this! My husband and I have been hosting people for 20 years. We were never in a place financially where we could have people over and feed them all, but we were able to open up our home and still do and we do potlucks. People love it for the simple fact that they need fellowship.

The Lord has helped my husband and I in this area. We have always wanted to open our house to guests and host dinners. During the first few years of marriage this was so hard because we wanted to “impress” and show off the house, the kids, the food… and this would cost us SO MANY arguments and tensión the days prior, as well as the day people came over!! Because it was all revolving around our pride!!!
Now a few years into our marriage we understand that whenever we put God first, the fruits of the spirit bloom and are tangible. When serve instead of host (so to speak), when we pray for our guests before they come, when we ask for discernment to guide everything (from meal choices and cooking to speak or keep listening…)
That is… when we host to serve and bless and not to impress, when we receive the guests aknowledging Jesus Christ in each one of them… then our home feels like a little slice of heaven and I bet they feel the Lord’s presence and Peace because I for sure do

I really struggle with establishing boundaries when we host, the way kids destroy our house and parents don’t watch their kids. And every time I say it’s my last time hosting…. I just feel disrespected by the adults who come, enjoy themselves, and leave without helping clean up/ communicate to their own kids what’s not acceptable. What it means to be a guest and not trash someone else’s home. I always then feel I wasn’t calm and a hostess and was just parenting everyone’s kids 🤦🏻‍♀️ how do I get past this to actually enjoy hosting? (I have sent out a text asking parents to keep an eye on their kids and what I expect, then we’ve also “closed off” parts of our house to limit the rooms that get destroyed by kids…. And still I find myself feeling the same way every time everyone leaves.

No kids allowed or only above a certain age. Do a potluck so everyone has to take their own dish home and use disposables. Ask them to help clean up I always do especially around holidays. Usually once they see a few people helping everyone pitches in even the men.

Pray!!!! Cleaning is definitely part of the hosting job and yes kids will make a huge mess....that's what they do haaa. Pray about why these things bother you? Do you want to host bc you love it or because you think you should?

Boundaries are not rules to control others but rules for yourself for your protection. "I will not do this, or participate in this" is a boundary, while "you may not do this, and you must do this" is not. If you are not ready to host, then don't! But if you do choose to host, think of how Jesus would host. He loved little children and had them come unto him. And he also didn't value things over people. It is very hard when people do not have manners or respect for you or your space. But we are the vessels of God, we are His hands, and that is a higher calling♡ Things do not matter. People do. Frustration is not of God. His gospel is peace♡

The Lord causes a shift in a generation of young women like myself (19) to learn these principles and apply this wisdom even before our time❤. I have a handful of Christian women that I watch because of the misleading or secularism that can exist in their content (praying for them) but you have been a physical testament of biblical pruning. you are a great mom, a lovely wife, and a beautiful disciple. I pray that Lord blesses and keeps you and all your loved ones🙏🏻

Thank you for this video-I found this so encouraging in my current season. I love your content and look forward to it regularly.
As someone who is walking in this season and finding myself called to open up my home often-I would encourage others to start small and pray and ask God to give you the strength, wisdom and capacity to serve Him in this way.
Having moms over for a morning play date turned into hosting a small group in the evenings after bedtime, into having guests come stay and hosting meals here regularly in addition. There has been so much blessing for others and the joy it brings to serve in this way is undeniably from the Lord.

I check out your videos every now and then, and it is pretty impressive to see how far you've come. I saw some of your earlier videos and am truly shocked with how the holly spirit has transformed you for the better.
You are the embodiment of, "if you aren't changing then you aren't growing".
I have read criticism over the removal of your older videos, but it's not our place to dictate what you choose to disclose. We shouldn't judge how God is leading you.
On a different note, I do appreciate you educating us on what a Godly home is suppose to be like. It touched my heart when you mentioned that a kid you guys were hosting said, "I have never experienced what it is like to be surrounded by peace."
So encouraging! Thank you for that.

This was such a good reminder. I think Ive been tied to the home for the last couple of years because I have three small ones, and hosting can definitely be overwhelming because there is always a lot of clean up and i often feel guilty if my kids schedules are off or they are having screaming fits. I think i get overwhelmed but I have to remember to be calm and loving towards my babies even in those hard moments, whether I feel judged or not. In my culture a lot of family believe in spanking your children and I really dont like being physical with my children so when i get those vibes from certain people I will literally have to check them or feel like i dont want to have anybody over. Idk it would be great to host more because going out feels too overwhelming for us in this season.

This reminds me of my professor who taught on Deut 22:8 commandment to have a parapet around roof. Back they would hang out on their homes roofs, so God wanted people to be safe. Implemented today God loves fellowship we might not hang out on roofs but our home should be a safe place both physical and spiritual, the Lords presence as well as it being safe, Ex/ a pool cover if kids come over. ❤❤

A few minutes in only and I’m enjoying it a lot already. My husband and I host more than ever now we have kids than before. It is such an immense joy for me. My husband has become such a friend to the younger men in his workplace (none of them have faith) and there are seasons in our life where things line up that we have them round every week, at least once a week for dinner. Through this hosting, one of the young men is really thinking about the Lord and considering who He is, and what He’s done for him. It is so exciting to see, because it’s happened in our home and not a church. God can use anywhere we are willing. I for sure want to do better and remember the reason why I want people in my home and how to prepare my home for hosting prayerfully as well as practically. Thanks for a lovely, edifying video Milena.

Beautiful sisters, do not let fear of failure or imperfections keep you from hosting. I used to stay up all night the night before an event making every room in the house just so (my husband coined it "party mania") and i practically made myself sick. Now after turning 30 i am less neurotic/ insecure haha. I am sure to tidy the kitchen, dining room, sitting room, stairs, hallway and bathroom. If these places are beautiful then the whole vibe of the house will feel beautiful. Beyond making beds no need to fuss with bedrooms or laundry rooms. Also consider the five senses when hosting. Create an environment that smells, looks, feels, sounds and tatste inviting and lovely❤ hosting will cultivate grace within you❤

Still need to finish the video, but it is blessing me so much already! Hosting friends this weekend. A bit nervous; it will be my first ever time hosting friends for an afternoon. Our home is really small, we don’t have grass in the garden yet, we don’t have enough plates and glasses and beautiful anything for hosting really, and really just no extra money to buy amazing food and snacks. BUT I am just leaning into that spirit of hospitality and of sharing and giving. Our children are the same age and best friends; they don’t “do religion,” so that encouragement of maybe our home will be their encounter with God, really touched my heart. 🤍 Thankful that they don’t want fancy, just craving connection. So I’ll lean into that and give my best even though!

Love this 🩷 beautiful location! I live in KY, lots of greenery here too. I don’t know if ticks are common in your area but they are here and if we were to walk in tall grass/weeds like this, we would definitely pick up atleast one tick! Be careful 🩷🩷🩷

Wow I was just thinking about this today. How I’m longing for a friend in the new state I recently moved to. I think I will try harder to open my home despite the awkwardness.

Growing up, we did not have very many people over and I always had the idea that if you let people over then your home is no longer safe. It took me a while to unlearn this, but as I have seen other close church friends invite us over and just the example that you and Jordan give it is clear that my perception of opening up the home was messed up for most of my life.

Such an encouraging message and one I needed to hear today. Thank you. Milena, I know you are stretched thin but I did want to let you know that I appreciated that this video had more jump cuts and varied shots. I love to watch the videos and not just listen, so I appreciate that. I wanted to let you know that you accidentally put in one clip twice, and the clip at the end was repeated and there was also two minutes of dead space at the end of the video. Still appreciated and loved it though.

I used to think I had to have people over for dinner. As someone with a chronic illness it was really hard for me to host at night because I would get exhausted and in pain. But then I realize… why not have people over for lunch? For coffee? For cake in the afternoon? It really shifted my way of thinking and now I’m able to host and really enjoy it ❤️
