- We did it! We attended Miss Universe during the Global Pandemic! There were so many restrictions in place to keep everyone safe. Watch this video to learn how the Miss Universe Organization kept their audience members safe while putting on the best show that they could during this time. In this video, you will also find my thoughts on the overall production of the show. Plus what went right and what went wrong during the swim and evening gown portions of the competition.

I know it is a saying in the pageantry that "it is not the gown but the girl", but lets face the fact that the gown elevates your prrsentation.
Checking my phone everyday for your full recap but I’ll happily take this while I wait 🙌🏼
I think why the girls were not aware about the cameras is because nobody taught them about it. Lu was not there 😩 and remember, lots of these girls actually never competed on a real stage before because they had to compete virtually at their national pageants or even just handpicked by the organization.

The whole show needs a revamp....prelims and finals.
Just as how we've seen the quality of women evolve...I believe the production quality of the show should as well.
I hated the capes...they're distracting.....
The women who compete were the stars and I hope going forward they're featured more.
Looking forward for your next video! Especially, if you have any thoughts of why Thailand and SA didn’t place top 5? Also, would be nice to hear your opinion about the smaller countries with beautiful candidate, but don’t get as much exposure, for example Laos..

I would say that three ladies (Peru, Brazil, Dominican Republic) got the typical Miss Universe questions which are recycled pageant questions. Mexico and India got atypical questions, ie Covid questions. They both answered in English and not in their own native language. Thus it is harder for them to come up with words that they don’t usually use in their daily language. So they were at a disadvantaged situation. Therefore both were not able to give good answers. However, Mexico was able to redeem herself when she gave her final presentation in Spanish. Her win was based on her overall performance and the judges did not hold it against her on that sole bad answer.

The Production Reminded me of Miss Universe 2005/2006 with the expansiveness of the stage. On screen we saw a cameraman visibly panning in front of the girl. I found the the camera crew to be sloppy honestly....I did think they need to roll out the red carpet in gown for added effect like At Miss USA 2004 (Ask Shandi)
Agree, the cameraworks this year is kinda off. Did they get a new crew? The 2018 edition was amazing. Hope MUO keep their standards in bringing a super amazing show after all they are the most prestigious bp in the world so better keep hold of that.

I think the MUO did a phenomenal job this year. Testing and taking care of the girls, arranging for the stay and amazing food and also ensuring that all those who come to interact with the girls, like the fans and photographers are also tested negative. In addition, as you said, the rows were arranged in a way to ensure safety and the guards too kept a check. I think all this effort and hardwork deserves appreciation!

OMG the camera angles were absolutely the worst, what they were thinking? I personally love the gloves, they are on trend right now if you look at recent fashion shows, for the swim I am not sure why Miss Chile had a one piece and no one else, do you get to choose? Also the capes, it doesn’t work for shorter girls, it washed them out, sarong around the hips would be a better alternative. Demi is super sweet I love that she said thank you to all the girls who contributed to their communities during 2020 pandemic but to be completely honest she stumbled upon her words quite a bit...again it’s live TV, so I don’t expect it to be perfect :-)
she didn't talk about the hosting 😂😂😂 maybe she's afraid to offend olivia culpo😅 which is the most energetic host of MU history ever.

Nia, the pandemic is not over. Far from it.
It's pretty close in the US. I should have specified. For example experts say that we will be to herd immunity in Los Angeles county by July.

Demi’s errors in reading the teleprompter or their notes was so distracting.
This girl should’ve won Miss Universe instead of Olivia. She has no presence.
Definitely one of the worst editions of Miss Universe in history.
