I’m 20 but all I did when I was young even when I had a phone and video games it just gets boring so I was just always outside with my friends exploring and stealing the oranges from the back of my neighbors yard and and mess around it was just more fun doing stuff outside then being home all day
I love this movie. I went to the theater twice in one day just to see it. The second one isn't as good, but it's still good.

I love this movie and completely agree with your take on this and today's youth. you will enjoy the second one as well. this was a great movie that is a good contrast of nostalgia from the fun outdoors and current issues.
as a stay at home dad i can tell you it is weird. it dont feel right to me, but the wife maked more money, and we decided i should be the one at home with the kids.
You know, I wonder the same thing.. why not just give the nanny the time off... 🤔
I love this movie. It's just different. Im 40 and I hear you. We were outside all the time. The minute someone has a kid now, just throwing electronics in front of them. Babies on iPads and phones. I don't know, just different times I guess. Great reaction as always.
We need to go back to that time and best believe when I have kids that iPad will see minimal use

My kids have screen time limits and tech bans. Every chance we get we're out in nature hiking, playing some type of sport or just chilling. Luckily most of out friends are he same so there are always kids that they can be outside with and just do kid stuff without being glad to a screen.
I agree 100% Devon when we were kids the only time we were home was to eat and sleep if we even did that. Always outdoors doing something

Neither of our kids are quite as outdoorsy as we were (for one, there weren't as many coyotes and bears roaming the hillsides when we were kids). We used to travel the hills and valleys pretty far from home and either needed to be back by the time the sun went down or could hear our Moms or Nans yell for us when supper was ready, and we'd yell back that we were on the way. Our oldest daughter, however, is very sporty and the second is a little sporty and also a book reader, so those are pluses. 😊
Shoot as a kid I’d play in the dirt, with sticks, Trying to climb trees and other outside things

I don't know what's happened to simply enjoying good goofy summer fun movies. I've always enjoyed the *Grown Ups* movies! Part 2 is more or so just silly bits merged into one film but still a fun watch with the fam on a July 4th weekend summer marathon.
On the spoiled kids, my cousin had an Ad/PR agency, and was living the good life, $1.5M home Range Rover, etc. I asked him what car he was going to get for his girls when they came of age. Without hesitating he said a 70s sedan (this was on the early 90s) something big and safe that they would have to run to prove that they could take care of before they could get anything nice. They learned to do oil changes, change a tire, tire rotations, etc. When they proved the could take care of their stuff and kept their grades up, THEN they would be eligible for something nicer. Not a Range Rover or anything similar, that was for them to earn through hard work. His mother & my father grew up in the Depression, and passed that work ethic onto us. Now the girls are hard working and respectful young woman. If only more people still did that.
I remember as a kids me my brother and 2 of my cousins stayed at grandma house over summer holidays and just like you said , you could not keep us in the house.
everyday just wake up , help around in the morning then eat lunch and let's go outside no matter the weather, and there was like another 5 kids at same age doing the same .
Once we went swiming and it started raining we still kept swiming for 4 hours in the rain
after that grandad came to pond.
Technology today ruined our kids life forever , becose even if you manage life for your kids to be like you had it, it will be really hard to find someone who is doing the same with same age kids.
Just seeing kids with their eyes burried in phones makes me sad, technology that should bring us closer together actually sets us apart more than we ever were
I like the second one better but it's been a while since I watched the first and this was great! 😂

Yes I agree. Growing up we were always outside. Life is much more than staring into a computer screen and pressing buttons. Long term it actually real bad.

The being disrespected is what stay at home mothers get all the time really just coated differently. 'it's their place' or 'it's not hard to sit in front of the tv all day' or 'it's not hard to raise kids' coming from people who have not lived that life. Stay at home parents are always underappreciated and overlooked and should they actually try to ask for help... oh boy.

Think my parents did a pretty good job with me, no tvs/consoles in our rooms till 16. Shared one with my brother, limited screen time and only had my first phone when I had real need for one. (14/15 I think.) And now I rarely use my phone anyway, leave it in the house unless I have a reason for taking it.
Could y'all imagine if Chris Farley was in this movie? Lol it would be like 1000× better. R.I.P Chris Farley

The stay at home husband was exaggerated for comedic effect - but there's no such thing as a feminine position. Those were just the roles back in the day cause women couldn't work. Domestic tasks are a people thing, not a female thing. Everyone should be cleaning regardless.

This was the first Adam Sandler film in which I did not laugh even once and turned off just over half way through and forced myself to watch the rest months later.

As a kid growing up in the 80´s one had more time on being creative. Loved being out in the woods, had my mountainbike, cruised around my hometown on my skateboard.
Sure, video games was a big part of my life and awesome TV-shows, cartoons etc. But I was like a hybrid, being part of a lot of things. Learning stuff that kids today just asks google.
Kids today should really take breaks and just be kids. Goof around, be happy and make nice memories.

My wife gets nervous at funerals and wakes. She giggles and until my family got to know her...she would bury her head in my coat to muffle the sound. The first time she did this at a funeral neatly 200 people were giving her the eye.
