Just installed this today. Thanks for such a succinct install video. I'm liking the mod a lot so far.
just got it installed yesterday, didnt do much else than a 350km ride of mostly highway. But i could tell right away that shift feel had change, it seems much more more robust and precise now. Hopefully it will take care of the miss shift into neutral from 1st to 2nd.
Hi! Yes, this mod definitely makes a difference and greatly reduces false neutrals, but it's also a great support on the shaft compared to Hondas support. This modification will reduce slop in the shaft and, in turn, prolong the life of the gearbox and its bearings. It's one of the best mods I've done to my bike, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Thanks for watching. All the best, Sean
Really enjoyed yourself on the greasing part
@@BMCMOTOUK Ah crap I just finished mine on an identical bike but I put that support plate back on with it. I rewatched the vid to make sure I didn't miss anything. Is it really supposed to stay off?
@Visayas Rider the racetorx support replaces the stock support bracket so you don't need to refit the original support
@@BMCMOTOUK Ok thanks! Well at least it's good practice doing something twice.
Providing there is enough thread on the new bolt that holds the racetorx support on I'd leave the original on and if you wish you can remove the original support when it's time to regrease the racetorx support bearings.
Hello, nice vid. Could you please advise what exactly are you marking? Before removing the lever? It appears there's already a cut in mark and it doesn't even move as you remove the lever. I'm about to do this to my bike and I'm a bit scared of messing something up.
Hi, I only marked it so could put the shifter back in the same position when refitting
Hi, can I install this while having gear shifter?
I don't see any reason why not but I've not got a quickshifter fitted to my bike
@peterfrancis1610 good choice. It makes the gear changes more positive but more importantly, it supports the shaft a lot better than the pissy Honda support bracket. Over time your gear selector shaft will no doubt start to wear and then the free play will increase. This racetorx support bracket will virtually eliminate that potential problem
Does it really change anything?
On the CB650F, YES !! Big difference.
But on the Cb650R 2022....can't feel any difference really.
From feedback of others it does make a difference with false neutrals, probably on older models? I've only experienced 2 or 3 false neutrals in the 4 months of me having my 650 but the main reason why I fitted it was to protect the gear shaft from wear and also it beef's up the shaft in the event of a crash/ fall if that makes sense
i had about 20 or more false neutrals on my CB650R. have had the gear lever adjusted correctly, till getting fale neutrals now and then, really annoying, Its from 1st to 2nd it happens. Just got the shift support in, going to install in a few days. Also read a lot of comments on the CB650 forum, all very positive feedback on this shift support
the support bracket that you took off 2:39 it does not go back in there.
@danamiller7309 still waiting on your reply or have you realised that your just talking shite?
Meticulous again Sean. Man I wish I could make vids with the quality that you do!
Thanks Duncan, I get my daughter to help me out as I'm not very clever when it comes to tech lol
Wtf that price greedy people
It depends on what you define as expensive. I personally didn't find it expensive considering the research and development that would have went in to develop this product but if it's too expensive then there's always Chinese clones you could buy but the durability and quality may not be the same
Or - you could just change gear correctly and save yourself money...
Yeah that wont do it, trust me, i have had many bikes and the CB650R deffo has a small issue with the gear change from 1st to 2nd.
@X trust you? Never had an issue with my cb650f, not had an issue with my cbr650r.. if you adjust the bike to fit your body then changing gear isn't an issue. You will get a false neutral on any bike period. My africa twin, my gsx, my bandits all at some point hit a false neutral. A piece of metal/ally etc bolted around a shaft isn't going to stop that. Period. Every shaft moves and this is purely a money making placebo.
Nice!! It’s a wonderful mod. So underrated and makes the bike nicer to ride.
Your absolutely spot on there. The existing support backed is woefully inadequate and this little mod really really sharpens up the gear change. I'm so glad I went ahead with it
