- The Inauguration of Kohima Peace Memorial was held in Kohima, Nagaland on May 8, 2024.
Ambassador SUZUKI Hiroshi and his delegation comprising members of Japanese communities across India participated in the ceremony.

Unlike most other countries, Japan has learned good lessons from its past...for the good of humunity- War benefits none, peace benefits all.. and respect everyone.
If the Nagas had wholeheartedly supported the Japanese forces during World War II, and if the Japanese had won the battle, and moved toward central India, Nagaland could have become a sovereign, independent country. According to oral accounts from elders who witnessed the conflict, there is no doubt that the Nagas also supported the Japanese forces because, at that time, they were already engaged in a movement for sovereignty from colonial rule. It is reported that Naga leader AZ Phizo, INA leader Subhash Chandra Bose, and Japanese army leaders met somewhere in Burma for a joint fight against British forces.
Most Nagas supported the British forces, and the result was, the ungrateful British government threw the Nagas in to the hand of another colonial rule. Nagas are now further divided between India and Myanmar.
Fair assessment, and the Brits and the Japs didn't commit unspeakable atrocities on the Nagas like the Indian did. The more evil is India factually.
Japan must help the Nagas Reclaim their past history of independence at any costs.

Mr. CL John represent and take front row seat as forest minister of Nagaland because this scheme (Peace Memorial & Eco Park)came under forest department funded by Japanese nation under the provision of JICA project.

Once India leave us alone, which is inevitable in the long term, more investment will come in. India blocks a lot of foreign investment and foreign tourist.
