from what I have noticed, Australia is the best continent to own at the start because it's the most defensible position. You can just stack troops in peace. It's better the more players are in the lobby, but in a 1v1 it's garbage. Asia is basically an useless continent to hold because you will never get Siam or the far east region since the holder of NA can always attack it from Alaska unless you divide your troops, but those smaller stacks will just get sniped.

100% it's S tier early game but when you get to 1v1 it's usually better to take other continents instead. Good observation!

I’ve seen someone hold Australia early game and expand to hold Asia against two other players late game by holding Ukrainian, the Middle East I think (whatever the decently sized territory is south of Ukrainian), and Alaska. Essentially making it where he only needed to defend those three points of entry.

Love these videos. It’s fun to see your flexibility in strategies and styles, and you narrate everything so clearly. Really really good Risk channel, and it’s only been a handful of videos so far. I’m a fan now.

In multiplayer hiding in Australia is money for at least second place, and if placing manually instead of automatic it’s really good for winning as well if you have another large host moving around the map to dislodge other continent bonuses from people

I really hope you don't stop uploading these. I really love these videos even if they don't get as many views as TF2 probably would. They are very enjoyable to watch :)!

Good that you took green out first, after all he kind of suicided on yellow giving the game for you which is nice, but ruining it for yellow. Yellow shall get better rank points than green. If possible without giving the game away I always try to take out suicide players first, before I take out the fair player who just got bombed out of the game, because sometimes we are all on the receiving end of a rage suicider.

I like hearing your strategy seeing as it's fairly different to mine. Like taking out Blue when they left the game. To me, an AI controlled Blue represents an ally. Either it attacks enemies, which benefits me, or enemies attack it and waste their troops, which benefits me. All I do is make sure the AI avoids my territories by having more troops on its borders. I will attack the computer player if it has roughly 3 times as many troops as cards, since the chances are that the bonus I'll get when trading in will cover any losses. The rest of the time, I just chill somewhere out of the way and watch the world burn. I'll keep an eye on who's getting a bit too strong and figure out which other player has a beef with the strong one, and make a point of helping them out by attacking the strongest player - but only just. I won't sacrifice too many troops for the cause, because you want them to weaken each other more, until both can get hellfire rained on them in one turn. But, I like your strategy, since it seems you manage to destroy everyone within the space of 20 minutes, which is usually when my games are only just getting started. My slowest win is now at nearly 8 hours :)

At minute 12 it was rather obvious for me that you should have taken out blue (you put 2 troops on the 6 you had, take down the 1 trop with the 6 bunch and take out blue with 5 cards. You would recover troops with the 5 cards you would get plus getting a large territorial bonus in the next turn (if the opponents take down those territories, they would be themselves basically taking full new continents and thus a conflict would unleash with you safely turtling in Australia. It was unnecessary to keep blue alive then.

Good question. In the bottom right you'll see that my goal is not to hold Europe, my goal is to consolidate units and stay out of trouble. So guarding my borders is not the priority, which is why I used my fortification move in north america instead. If someone wants to stop me from taking Europe, they're going to do it either way and as you see in the game, they block Europe not on Ukraine but on western Europe.
