NEW AND IMPROVED VIDEO: ua-cam.com/video/gschrHwTgcs/v-deo.html This video was loooong due. Reason why I held it off so long is because I could never complete the Big stages no matter at which period of my life I tried to tackle it. Ironically enough they ended up being fairly easy when I actually read the instructions and recorded this for the channel. A really cool surprise was unlocking Super Sonic after completing all characters, as I didn’t even know about that. Anyway this longplay covers all main story stages of each character. I didn’t practice the game beforehand but I got all stages memorized from my child years anyway. I would sometimes struggle with the openworld part of the game but I made sure to do some cuts when necessary. There’s also a dreamcast version with significant changes which will be uploaded too some day
I played this so much as a kid. It felt massive! I use to think it an open world game I loved it so much and would explore everything the levels had to offer.
I've always remembered the opening scene with chaos and the casino level, this was the only childish game I got to play on my dad's Xbox 360 as a kid. It feels nostalgic now, I'm definitely watching this whole playthrough
I would assume most people have played DX Director’s Cut over the Dreamcast release. DX is the basis for every other release of Sonic Adventure. The only way to have played the Dreamcast version is to have own a Dreamcast (not likely) or deliberately go out of your way to mod it the PC release of SADX.
@@nogodcansaveyou I remember renting Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut for Nintendo GameCube at Hollywood Video and playing it until I get a game over screen
Just buy a decent pc and you can emulate most of the old consoles on it For a better experience buy a gamecube controller and look up online how to connect it to the emulator you decide to use
I remember when this came out on the Dreamcast when I was a kid in grade school. Even now as a grown 30 year old man, when I see that original SONIC ADVENTURE logo I am taken back to the good old days. I am going to show this game to my kids when they are old enough to comprehend videogames
They need to start making games like this again. I miss being able to play as the other characters and it's getting a little annoying only being able to play as sonic
The demo version of this game was playable on one of the GCN demo discs In the demo version, Emerald Coast was the playable level There are also playable demos and viewable trailers of other GCN games (Disney's Hide & Sneak, Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, NBA 2K4, NFL 2K4, NHL 2K4, Pokémon Colosseum, etc)
This game is AWESOME! I just got it yesterday for my birthday, and it's one of the most fun video games I've had since Scribblenauts Unlimited or smth. I don't have a Memory Card yet, but when I do, i'm playing the heck out of this game!
I only ever played SA2 on game cube. Never knew how to play the first one, but I’m gonna definitely by the gamecube version soon and I will be playing through the whole thing, really enjoyed the 2nd one
This game is nostalgic in a kind of sad way for me. Not in the "oh I wish I could go back to those days" way, but this was an early Sonic game of mine. I enjoyed it a lot as a kid, and even now I can look past it's flaws and see a refreshing game, but it's hard not to compare it to Sonic's recent run of games. He's had loads and loads of chances to break back into mainstream popular gaming, but it seems like he always stumbles or changes direction before he can do so. This and SA2, Unleashed and Colors, Mania, even Frontiers (though I don't know what the future holds). All steps in the right direction, but all soon to be snuffed out or replaced by something else. This sense that Sonic Team constantly throws out the baby with the bathwater makes it hard to be a loyal fan of these games, and the combination of this feeling and the feeling of genuinely liking this game a lot makes Sonic Adventure very bittersweet. A beginning and an end, I guess.
This game is top tier ultimate nostalgia. I got this game at Best Buy in about 2003 or so when I was in 1st grade. I remember the day I got it. It felt so bad ass and edgy playing it. Unlike anything I had seen on my GameCube since that’s all I had. Such a huge world. Mind you this game, Mario party 4, Tony hawk pro skater 4 and Luigi’s mansion is all I had and this game story wise, world size, and character depth just blew me away as a kid. It felt like a really big ass game I could never finish. Life was much simpler when this game was the biggest thing in my life. It absolutely exploded my brain of his awesome it was and how far you could get( the way I remember it) this was before internet was big in every household I passed it all on my own I remember all the extras you could unlock especially the music tracks. When I die I hope I wake up in my 7 year old body playing this game.
Aw shucks, I loved this game when I was a little girl. Great music, fun plot...Mystic Ruins was always my favorite stage! Something about an ancient civilization gone to ruin, the design, and the sheer ambiance of the stage enchanted me as a child. The part with the mirrors reminded me of my all time favorite vg, the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (the Earth Temple mirror puzzle...caused me HOURS of frustration as a child, lol!) I had to cheat to get the password into Eggman's lair and get to the Final Egg stage, lmao. I just COULD NOT figure out the password! I never did beat the game, but it's still fun to watch someone else do so :D When the robot chased Amy in her stage at Twinkle Park...that used to terrify me! Especially in the mirror room D: And I hated playing as Big, his story was so boring. I loved Knuckles and Amy though! Gamma too, even though his story made me so sad.
I got this game in 2003-2004 I was in first grade grabbed it because the cover looked cool and Damn was I lucky to grab it. Back then seemed like such a huge game with some much story. I still have the same copy that works till this day.
I was never a big Sonic fan but I did enjoy games like Sonic Adventure Battle 2. This looks like it was a great game for it's time. I can see why people like this game and the nostalgia is always wonderful. I guess I played many poorly-made Sonic games so Sonic has always been hit-or-miss with me.

Ill never forget when i finally got my hands on dx. I had sa2b, and edgy teenage me thought that was the best game of all time. I also had mega collection, and watched the shit out of the videos which had sa1 in them. I dreamed relentlessly of the day i could get dx. Finally one day i did and man it was so good. Open your heart is one of the most badass songs ive ever heard. Chaos was such a sick villain. Loved all the characters and the hub worlds. Loved how it had more of a classic sonic feel while still being an adventure title.
just played my gamecube copy again for the past two weeks and 100%'d this, like all stage emblems and mission mode as well, some crazy difficult missions there, not actually difficult just made tough due to the slippery controls and camera jankiness on this DX port lmao
If you get 4000 points in the game in the Egg Carrier with Amy, you get the Long Hammer (unless it's your 1st go then Warrior Feather, then you play it again to get the Long Hammer)
It really didn't. This is the GameCube version that has updated models for many of the characters and higher framerate. The original Dreamcast version, well, just look at Eggman here vs SA2 because _his_ model didn't get spruced up for some reason. Also, SA2's graphics weren't updated at all between Dreamcast & GameCube port.
@ere84 True. And I know it's late to say this now, but I'm sorry. You're crazy if you say that the graphics here look better than the second. I had to laugh at that person for even saying that. I know it's to each it's own, but it sounds ridiculous to me. lol
At the part around 3:39:44, I'm really having trouble. For some reason, I can't get Knuckles to go up through that wind geyser and access Red Mountain. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
that's a bit odd, there isn't anything special you need to do to get the wind tunnel to work there for Knuckles, other than story progression, no idea. just try leaving Mystic Ruins and coming back I guess, reloading the game. you're playing on GameCube? PC port on Steam? or emulating on Dolphin?
