- Martin Gottfried Weiss was born on the 3rd June 1905 in Weiden in der Oberpfalz then part of the German Empire.
Weiss had two sisters and was raised as a Catholic. After school, he pursued further education in mechanical engineering, which he finished in 1924 and worked as intern in an ironworks. During the summer of 1926, Weiss became a member of the Nazi Party and, together with two friends in his hometown, established local branches of the SA and the Hitlerjugend, which were the Nazi paramilitary and youth organizations, respectively.

Was Martin Gottfried Weiss at least part Jewish? Both of the surnames are Jewish. I just found this odd.

I’ve been to Dachau twice and it’s a very somber experience I can’t imagine what it was like when it was liberated.
And old friend of mine survived Dachau. She just died at nearly 100. She was a sweet and kind soul. There was no execution kind enough for these Nazis. And I’m a German.
Somehow I thought the US troops found Dachau earlier in ‘45. I didn’t realize it was just a week before the end of the war,
You wear a heavy mantle of responsibility,and carry it with much grace.
This evil man ruined his own future and wasted his life committing terrible crimes and as a result he was hanged five days before his 41 birthday what a waste of a life RIP to his victims
My pop was in a pow camp, that was bad but nothing like this. Truely hell on earth. God rest their souls.🙏🙏🙏🙏
