Kimberlite is found in really really old continental crust from ancient volcanos. Your rocks are probably much younger and are the result of felsic magma deep underground that released a lot of water / sulfur at the end of its cooling / crystallization phase. But whatever the case may actually be I’m fairly certain it’s hydrothermal. Kimberlite may not always have diamonds but it usually has phenocrysts.
The hole at the end and the straight line of the loose yellow stuff makes it look like somebody was using a wheelbarrow or ore cart to move debris out of a mine. They would have kept the top of the tailing pile flat to facilitate moving it. The fact that that soft material is still in a pile means it's pretty young geologically, otherwise it would be flatter and covered with plants like everything else around it. The sulfur smell is common with iron pyrites and other mineral sulfides. Other elements similar to sulfur are selenium and tellurium which have very strong smells. If you dig a well there, be sure to have to water tested for heavy metals and arsenic.
First of all... I love your attitude! On some of the samples that you picked up it show some promising mineralization. Enjoy your journey in your research for the riches that your land may hold! Good luck!
There is a diamond mine near Oroville. Kimberlite is dark rock with green undertones, it can also host garnets. It won't leave a chalky mess on your hands. You're better off taking a metal detector to the piles of mined rock and finding gold left behind.
I have the same kind of rocks on my property. I am over here in North Carolina sitting slap dead in the middle of the North American Craton. These rocks come ccompanied by " supposed " quartz" however oh, this quartz that I have will cut other quartz glass and any other material including corundum( Ruby/saphire ) that I can find, doesn't have the same light refractions as quartz and has cleavage is off through them, the shape of octahedral and several other rough diamond shapes. " Btw if any local Diamond Cutters tell you that diamonds only form an octahedral that is completely false. Our local gemologist .label them as volcanic rocks.Search for hydrothermal veins on your property, I found most all of these in the creek next to my house which just so happens to be fed by underground spring. I just ordered my diamond tester ,so don't give up and ignore and tune out the hate and do your own research don't take anyone else's word for it. From what I found out no one is going to tell you that you have a diamond mine on your property. There are dark & light kimberlites. Also don't rule out lamporite which can also be Diamond bearing.
A lot of degraded sulfurous rock and the reddish rock is from iron staining. Gold and copper could be found in this . No lava though so I don't believe this is a kimberlite pipe. Good luck with your quest.
Ma’am, I’ve noticed your helpful comments you’ve left for people on their videos. First, I’d like to say thank you for being kind to strangers and lend helpful advice. It’s nice to see. And second, it seems like you have knowledge with geology. If you are and you have a little time on your hands. I would like to show you either some pictures or I could post a video on here! But my questions are pertaining to some of the geology/samples I have. Or that I’ve located through a lot of work and fun hiking trips, through the remote hills in north Idaho. If not no big deal and thank you 👋
I believe you will be looking for kimberlite rocks so look up that specific rock that carries the diamond to the surface and it doesn't have to be a volcano it's just basically rocks from down deep within the Earth about a hundred miles or so but if you also check to see if you got any fault lines near you also there's a specific plant that grows in the vicinity of diamonds it's like a fan palms or something like that I'm not sure I kind of forget just research a little bit of information you don't want to be out there in a while goose chase is all but it is possible you could come across Some Gems with the proper information you can probably find one a little bit quicker good day and good luck
Im no expert but it doesn't appear to be a kimberlite pipe in my opinion. The presence of dried magma tends to point in the direction that it didnt come from the incredible depths (often 3x as deep as a regular volcano) from which kimberlite originates, kimberlites arent known for magma flows, it more shoots up from the earth like a shotgun blast that cools rapidly when it reaches the surface. However, search the area for eclogites ( nodules of the earths mantle ) the will usually be full of garnets and peridot. Also look for rounded stones in an area that there is no evidence of moving water, this is because the rocks are polished on their travel through the earths crust while traveling at supersonic speeds. Kimberlites are maar volcanoes and dont normally form a distinct cone, they also often erode more quickly than the country rock leaving circular depressions. Again, Im no expert so dont let me make you give up investigating, just trying to give you a little of my knowledge so you dont end up wasting a bunch of time or money on your prospect.
Might want to look for Chalcopyrite (wiki web address: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalcopyrite ) (Chalcopyrite geology.com address: geology.com/minerals/chalcopyrite.shtml) and (Bornite geology.com address: geology.com/minerals/bornite.shtml). Wear gloves and maybe a mask (some minerals/powders can be hazardous to your health, sulfurs are used in external anti-parasitic medications and can be dangerous if inhaled.) Wikipedia has a great web page with a mineral list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minerals (Have fun rockhounding!)
High interesting video, that's a tailing pile except for those rocks that are at 3 minutes those look interesting like they might contain gold. Is the other smell kind of like garlic? sulfur and garlic are both signs of poisonous material. Look them up. Take some sledgehammers and break off some of that rock at 3 minutes and see if there is anybody nearby with a metal detector or a rock Crusher or look up on how to crush rock with a sledgehammer or some other device that doesn't cost a lot of money. I don't see anything that resembles kimberlite on your tailings pile. That hole in the ground that you said was man-made has a tunnel most likely under there if you know where to dig. All that dirt had to come out of someplace. so if that Rocket 3 minutes is a permanent structure coming up out of the ground that would be great but if it came out of one of the caves or tunnels from the diggings from the miners, you really should have it crushed and checked for any gold that may come out which is called free gold. but I don't see anything that resembles kimberlite there and you need to understand what you're touching because some of those things are not healthy to be around that come out of the ground. break off the parts that look really rusty next to a lighter color Material off of those dark rocks and see if you have anybody that has a decent metal detector that will come out and metal detect your mound of tailing pile. good luck don't make yourself sick. Wear a dust mask and gloves preferably rubber gloves. and safety goggles if you decide to hit the rocks with a sledgehammer.
Sandra Vecchione I showed pictures of it to a professor who thought maybe it was an old hot Springs (not in use anymore) but he said he never seen anything like it.
Nice try, albeit an apparent fail, at making your land more valuable!. Better check the court house records, as someone else might own the mineral rights. Severing the minerals from the surface rights is not an uncommon occurrence in California with its known gold and oil discoveries.
Maybe a meteorite. the white crusty slabs would be fusion crust off of the meteorite. And those holes in the ground would be from the crash. Hope this helps

Lmao I don’t know why I found it so entertaining, but the way you tossed that rock @ 00:05:10 made me laugh. Thanks for your video!!
All that rock that's brittle and falls apart is gypsum. It forms in dry climates where a shallow lagoon dries slowly

That’s a tailings dump, the “hole has most likely a tunnel entrance that was filled in..

looks like tailing / spoil from a man made dam with sandstone, clay and ironstone.
Hi! Did you ever find out what it was?
Yea umm, hell no that’s not kimberlite haha 😆
black glass with white crystals and diamomds. also grey

It's caliche. Ancient organic matter that is mostly calcium.
Volcanic tuff

Sulphur deposits from a hot spring
Did you find what was it?

It doesn't have anything that looked like raw asbestos.
pumice
I'm just starting out in this area, but I would guess you have the top of a cinder cone.
could be you found a hot spring.
Sandra Vecchione

pumice hold diamonds
i think its
