I sowed my lettuces inside this year, because I haven't had much success sowing them directly outside. Love how the beds look perfectly aligned. Thanks for sharing. ❤🙏
0:45 Last year, I grew the lettuce for the first time and realized the slug was the only pest I had to deal with. This year, I will try growing lettuce the 6 inch-deep wood planters I built. I will hang them on the patio rail. Two reasons: (1) avoid slugs (2) lettuce's root system is not extensive - this is more for convenient sake. And, yes, I will definitely watch the upcoming video of yours!
When I cut the grass I like to spread it thinly on my driveway on a sunny day. Once it dries out completely, it turns a more grayish green and feels light and brittle. Then I apply that right to the garden, often very thick, storing any extra in a box in the garage to keep it dry. It lasts a very long time that way until I need it use it somewhere. Out in the garden, even if it rains a lot, once the grass has dried correctly that first time it never turns slimy.
Beautiful video! Gorgeous garden bed frames! I spotted a great wheel! Have fun with that.... Mine's been upstairs all winter but I'm feeling motivated to take it down one of these days.Great fun!!
After watching this, I feel an intense need to pick up some lettuce seeds. But I've never had alot of success growing them indoors. I've found spinach grows better and that needs to be planted in a week or two :)
Yes. All my videos require at least a year of preparation to stitch the stories together. Currently I have 60 episodes on the pipeline. that is why making changes to style, format or topic on a whim becomes impossible.
Well, I am a bit lost. I have been wondering why the trees are already covered with leaves when we are still in February. And then you mentioned that ‘ it is already May’ in the video. I thought you are getting ready and planting for this coming season. 😩
Siloe.....I have OOODLES of mugs that I will likely be selling at a garage sale in the next year, as we prepare our house for sale in anticipation of our move to SC! Is there anything in particular (style, design, etc.) that you would prefer? I would be happy to ship them to you! :)
He said he prefers mugs but only had teacups available to buy, so get mugs if you can. Last video mentioned that cups with wide tops are better because it will be easier to remove the seedlings. So, no cups that are narrower or curve inwards at the lip.
I like the cup idea; they could be hung on hooks or dowels when not in use as seedling pots. I have loads of mugs and cups in storage boxes from last move that I was debating what to do with as there are way more than I need even for occasional visitors. I originally found your channel a year or so ago when I was searching for making paper pots to plant seedling in. You also have a video on your homemade soil block maker that I been trying to find again in hopes that you give you recipe for the soil mixture of your soil blocks. Can you let me know how to find it, I have went to your video list and searched with words like "soil block" and other such words but I can't locate that video. Thanks.
I don’t think I had a video just about that. I talk about it in the recent hacks as well as beets and eggplant videos. I just use a lightweight commercial potting mix or seedling mix. I pass it through a screen if the mix is a bit rougher.
Would you be interested in adding french subtitles to your videos? I would be happy to make them (I am craving to share your beautiful videos with my friends here in France)

They probably have made nests in the wood under the porch. They are rather peaceful though. and their noise reminds me of the music "Flight of the bumble bee" and even a bit of Wagners's Valkyrie.
No pests bothering your lettuce? You must not have the gangster squirrels like we do here in Kansas City. Growing mine INDOORS in flower boxes and it’s working great. 🤬 🐿 ❤️🥬 your new beds are lovely
This is my first time growing lettuce and the video came just in time! My seedlings have like 2 or 3 sets of leaves is it time to bring them outside? It gets around to 30 F degrees at night :/ so I’m scared they’ll freeze to death they still seem too fragile.
I wouldn't. He recorded this last year much further into the year than we are now. I don't transplant lettuce, I only plant mine directly outside this time of year, but they won't actually start to come up until the weather is right. I live in 6a Missouri.
Those little white flowers at 9:25, what type of flowers are those? I have them growing all over in some areas of my yard and they look like chamomile flowers but i wasnt 100% sure
His outfit, his house interior, his raise garden, and his idea. Ugh everything is goal!
Love that watering can and just the style of your channel
Thanks
I get super excited every time I get a notification that you put out a new video!! I love this channel!! Thank you for sharing! 🥰

I see you built another bed. That’s such a neat style. I also love your hats. I wear a big floppy hat when I garden.

Heather Reis looks like Fever Few to me? An annual that self seeds easily. Medicinal herb.
Do you have a *HOUSE* dedicated to the aesthetic of this channel? Lol
🐝🌼♥️
It's possible to over-water lettuce, but you have to try pretty hard.
Mulch is not helping my battle against slugs, so I have sacrificial lettuce and spinach.
Should grow wheat
For your allergy problem maybe you need to check your guts, which is our second brain.
