Tom Volk and Dr. Elaine Ingham are my hero’s! I moved to La Crosse right as he passed and never got the pleasure of meeting him but have many friends that have. My partner went to UWL as well for biology. I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this presentation. Thank you for this 🍄✨❤️

Mad respect to those who share and show the pathway to regeneration. Thank you, Dr. Cobb, Kyle, & "FSW et al," for sharing invaluable info and tech, benefiting the world and folks like myself- FSW-minded folks on fixed incomes.
    Soaking it in.
    RIP Dr Tom Volk

Used as a mulch wood chips do not tie up Nitrogen. The problem is only when they are incorporated. They are great as a mulch because you get a nice layer of worm poo that builds up between the soil and wood chips.

At 136:00 Kyle mentions adding soil after the hot phase to feed, not inoculate i the compost. Is that the reason you, Dr. Cobb, mentioned adding before the thermophilic phase.? To inoculate better when turning? I just assumed the heat would kill "good guys"

Dr. Cobb and Kyle thank you so much for this and all you do. Adam you mentioned putting a small amount of local forest soil in our compost. I tend to take a pinch to a small handful here while walking the local wood here and love the idea. I have been putting it on the static, post thermophilic compost. You said to put it on pre thermophilic. Not doubting you just curious why? Thanks in advance, love all the free knowledge you pass on

Could Dr Elaine address the topic of regenerative soil practices, permaculture and mycotoxins? In light of types of pathogenic fungi and their ability to takeover the host. Ideally this could be a discussion between a soil biologist and a mycologist. That would be extremely helpful. These are the key safety questions not just for consuming the resulting produce but also for the gardening process itself

I started using wood chips as a mulch in my garden and fig orchard two years ago. I top dressed with fresh wood chips this summer as the electric company delivered trimmings. I have noticed lots of dog vomit slime mold fruiting bodies, so know i have a flourishing colony, and I assume they are busy breaking down the wood chips into soil. Is there any information on dog vomit that would help in my education of their role?

This is an extremely interesting lecture it covers a lot of what I have touched on in my studies of growing fungi and plants. I have learned a bit about the Korean natural farming for instance I learnt how to produce lactose ferment that I used to try and eradicate diseases on plants, I was advised to add some bacteria (compost tea) to my lactose ferment so that the eradication of the diseases would take better effect, that has been proved right ,the plant has managed to keep a lot more or it leaves and also produced an edible fruit. But as yet my experiment is not completely successful as I am studying the soil food web and I have a lot more to learn. I have grown fungi on saw dust, straws and logs. I would like to hear your thought on the fungi that grows in my hot compost bin? It is a bin that is encouraged to remain hot at all times. UK
I live in the UK I had a large honey fungus crop around my Lans Prince Albert apple tree, I thought that was the end of my old apple tree I scattered lots of crush eggshell around the tree then I place a plastic bin next to the tree and added most of my chicken manure to that compost bin almost half full. To my absolute surprise the apple tree became stronger and produced large apple and has been successful ever since. The eggshell was to get more calcium into the soil to eradicate the brown spots on apples that got rid of the brown spot from my apples. Thanks for this video it is very informative.

Hi Florie. What was the plastic bin next to the tree with chicken manure for? Was there holes in the bin, so the microbes leached through? How was this getting to & benefiting the tree, please?

There was a time when Ingham would talk badly about KNF and specifically IMO in relation to her not understanding how rice could work for collecting such organisms. As I was first into KNF a long time ago before her work, I remember thinking how limited this comment and thinking was .... Well time indeed reveals all. Look at us now.
