I actually visited Panamint City in the early 1970's when it was occupied by about 30 hippies. The place was quite functional and i managed to drive my 1964 VW Karman Ghia up there without getting stuck. Several of the houses were intact, and there were gardens and it was quite a nice scene.
Went to Panamint City in about '72. It's absolutely insane how different that canyon trail is from when we drove up it, and there's a lot of much newer, and now abandoned, mining equipment and vehicles laying around. I'm also struck by how much more buried everything is, especially the old mill. Anyhow, great video! Thank you very much for sharing.
What a fabulous video! Thanks for sharing your adventure. I grew up camping in the Mojave but never got a chance to really explore it. These days, my old body couldn’t make that hike so I appreciate being able to see it on video.
loe the back ground music but a little to loud. Loved watching the video of old mining towns. I will never be able to walk thanks for lovely video it takes us along with you.
I seen Manson in Panamint City about a week or less. Its CRAZY to think one could drive up there the way there is no evidence of a road. I was 13-14 then, I'm almost 65 now. I remember the road was very steep and we were driving in the creek a lot of the drive. Imagine getting that huge fuel tank up there!!!
I imagine they wore them because they were going in the mine where who knows what kind of bad stuff could be stirred up. Hantavirus is one thing that comes to mind.
@@grumpyoldlady_rants Well, according to Dr. Fauci and how he said masks don't help, the virus doesn't survive in the Sun in Temps above 70, there's no one around them, the survival rate has been steady at 99.8% for their age group, they are the brainwashed ones.

You actually found water in that barren waste!
Hello what year. He was abandoned, and what are the reasons for the migration of the place? Does anyone live there? Can you love me from your shadow?
Good video however I the music was too loud couldn't hear some of the narration
do you need 4x4 to get to the trailhead?
No It is a just a dirt road.
Great video! Keep it up!
What's with the dummies in the boonies with the masks on?

I imagine they wore them because they're brainwashed and paranoid.
@@giuliom8520 - Somehow I don’t think they are the brainwashed ones.... Anyway, hantavirus and histoplasmosis are real threats in old abandoned mines.

@@giuliom8520 - Are you not reading my replies? The masks have NOTHING to do with Covid (plus your “facts” are questionable).
Great video, audio sucks, think about it, old ears can hear voice or dingdong music, but not both at the same time.
