- This is the current production Colt Python .357 magnum in polished blue. Colt introduced this revolver at the 2024 Shot Show which had nearly everyone talking. However, there are many changes to this version that don't match its predecessor. It wasn't meant to. It is however, more affordable that a vintage example.

Man! I love those grips! I thought it was an older Python when I first started watching. I just recently bought a 2021 Anaconda. I replaced the Hogue rubber grip with Altamont super walnut Python grips. I like yours a whole lot more. I'm going to rewatch your video to hear who the manufacturer is. I'll definitely get some if they are available and reasonably priced. Your Python looks absolutely perfect.
Deer Hollow. The link is in the description
Many great leather holsters made for this handgun from Galco, & they're affordable. I have been using them for over 30+years
Im a smith guy but would love to own one of these beauties one day.
Beautiful. Love the grips. Wish they kept the two vents.
3 is better than 2 !! Don't you think 💬🤔... It a vent!! Barrels get very hot 🔥
Everyone is out to make a profit. Congratulations on being proud of making $800
1791 gunleather, make sure to read the instructions because they come extremely tight, only leather I use anymore. I bought the Smith L frame and my pythons all fit like a glove

I took the Python out to the range last Wednesday and shot four boxes of .357 158gr SJHP ammo. I also took my S&W 586 No Dash. The Python was hard to control with the EOM thin grips. They were replaced with the Deer Hollow. While a little thicker than the OEM I don't believe they are as thick as the EOM grips of the original Pythons of the 50s through the 90s. I had to readjust my grip after each shot which is not good for a defensive situation. When I shot the same ammo in my 586 the larger target grips and trigger made it easier to control the recoil.
I'll see about grips of the original Python or start using shooting gloves. Additionally, the narrow trigger with the deep serrations is rough on the fingers when shooting heavy magnum loads.
I bought the Python to shoot .357 ammo and I don't want to switch to standard .38spl or even +P or +P+ ammo in an effort to do what thicker grips would do
Try the Predator Pancake holster at Wright Leather Works, LLC.
Rear sight sucks, Front sight is OK at best, but adding 3 ventilated ribs instead of the traditional 2 is weird. Sadly I'm still a fan.
My dealer just called me. To let me know mines is in. Thanks for the video
Those who favor a Smith over a Colt, can’t afford a Python, new or vintage.
Couldn't be personal preference?
Idk...I owned a Colt Cobra classic (new model), while dry firing with snap caps, the internal part of the hammer snapped and locked the cylinder up...I sent it to be fixed and sold it when I got it back. Can't trust a weapon that will break...but I will say these new pythons are very interesting.
Lol dumbest and most ignorant statement ever
I own both. Mostly, Colt snake guns.
Wow....What a thing of beauty....I am so jealous!!!!
Love the python, it’s definitely my favorite now, the double action is the best I’ve ever felt on a Revolver
The 3 vents grew on me so I don't mind it. Too bad they didn't keep the stainless steel hammer. It added a nice accent to the gun.
I just got my 4" blued Python. I really like those grips which are on backorder BTW they don't seem to make a narrower grip with a undercut under the trigger as my palms a a good size however my fingers aren't long. So ill see what Tyler grips has to offer or ill have him custom make me a pair.
I am the proud owner of a 1990s original Python 4 inch in the DEEP Colt royal blue. I have the box and original grips and I put on a Hogue rosewood unigrip. Feels superb in my hands although I very rarely fire it - for obvious reasons.
Just purchased my first gun ever, just like yours. I am considering a holster from El Paso Saddlery. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏽👊🏽
I have a 586. Had a SS Python and sold it. The blues one is what I want 😊 Thank you for the review!
It has the worst trigger of any revolver I've ever bought and I've bought a bunch of them. I doesn't compare in any way shape or form to the Pythons of the 70's as was mentioned. The problem is that this one that I got was horrible.
I fired 6 shots of .38 Special out of mine and they were all over the place. Shot the center X out of a target at 25 yards with a 686 no dash so it wasn't me.
I really think the rifling was not done correctly.
In any case my local dealer took it back less $100.00 and I'm happy.
Thinking about getting this gun for Christmas 🎄
Beautiful revolver. As a Canadian, I can only dream.........
@@danbeasley6135 Move to the US were happy to have you.
@@texassportsman5880speak for yourself bro lol
I cannot see any MIM dots on the trigger and hammer, are they mim? The colt kc’s are mim.
Semplicemente magnifica 💪
Hey, you saw the cost of a new SW 44 magnum it can be $1450 new.
What version of the deer hollow grips did you get? 2nd Gen 60-61 or 61-73? Thanks
Gen 2
You can make scratch easy it’s beutiful please careful with speed loader
👍
A 4 inch should only have 2 vented ribs in barrel my 1963 python is a 4 inch only 2
Yeah blah blah blah!! I'm sick of people saying that!! It's not about looks!! 3 is better than 2!!! Don't you think 💬🤔
Still a cool gun
@@enricomandragona163 don't care... you can hear it again. 4.25" Python with two vents looks better.
Most local shops want 1800 sadly.
Yeah I paid MSRP of $1599 for it. There are lots of places that are still selling them for MSRP just keep looking.
Interestingly enough they're selling the 4-in stainless Python have less than MSRP
I paid MSRP 😮
@@enricomandragona163 The stainless Python can be bought for less than MSRP. The blued Python will eventually be selling for less than MSRP after a few years.
I just paid 1490
@@terrenceoshaughnessy6442 I paid $9 more than you did.
A Holster is near impossible lol. I might need to go custom.
I call d Galco they have one for $130 OWB for the Python, 586, GP100
Beautiful gun and nice video - BUT you might want to get into the habit of showing a gun unloaded before you pull the trigger twice.
I hear what you're saying but I don't do negligent discharges.
