That’s why he is one of the biggest new country artist out, and almost every country heavy hitter has him on stage with them at some point the past year....was a opening act in concert and under a year a headliner...yeahhh he may have missed his audition but seems he is doing pretty good!
Nashville is running out of options...another example, look at Kane Brown, aka Eminem in a cowboy hat. They are milking any angle to sell a record these days. Has been that way back to Shania really, who was basically Def Leppard with fiddles, a steel and a lot of T & A ! That said, I do like a lot of these new acts Luke Combs/Jon Pardi/ Midland etc who respect the older real stuff in there new takes on country. Enough venting, I think I just am missing the country from the 50s hearing it continue even up to the 2000s but the real stuff albeit still around is getting endangered...

Brett Young is definitely not a country artist. Has the voice of a Backstreet Boy. Ronnie has that classic country voice. Rock on man. Even 30 years later, still sounds the same!
I enjoy Brett young’s music, even though he has an interesting voice that’s different than others but there’s way too many “country” singers out there that are no where near country, Kane Brown even though I like his music too, maren Morris, kelsi Ballerini, Dan and Shay, Brett ain’t the only one but he’s a good singer

They said the change was to make it so the two singers were singing to/about a third party female. If they didn't make the lyrical change it would seem as though it was a love song they sung to one another. That's why the change was made.
