For that empty spot if you want a good idea is when school starts with your class you can ask them for rules and thoughts about the class and make a class mission statement
here is a tip for your desk you should get a little small one and if you have like a hour before you have to teach you can but the stuff you need on that little small desk so when it's time your not rushing to get the stuff you need.
You’ve got it! Advice from a fellow first-year teacher, focus on one big project at a time. It also drives me insane not to get everything done at the same time, but reality is that will never happen! What I usually do is before I leave each day, organize my classroom to a certain extent so that when I come in the next day, I don’t have a big mess everywhere! Good luck friend💛
Mailbox Numbers Tip: I made this mistake and thought I'd share with you, if you are sliding things in/out of mailboxes for students your numbers will peel up no matter how you decide to attach them. I'd possibly try hanging them on the side walls of the mailbox (left or right) and they should hold up better for you! Congrats on your job, teaching is so fun, don't base this year on the career itself, COVID is bringing all sorts of new problems to overcome.
how did you grow your classroom library so quickly? i’m going into my first year teaching in a fifth grade classroom & am struggling with collecting books
I collected over my 4 years of college! Savers and Buy Nothing Facebook group pages were my favorite cheap/free ways to collect books for my classroom. I also have a video a while back about how to get free books for your classroom! ☺️
A tip, if you have those extra books keep them in storage. Books go missing for various reasons or they get destroyed. So when some disappear put in those new ones that way you will always have a good stack!
I feel horrible that you have to go and teach in an environment like this. I'm glad you keep your spirits up! I will pray that you stay safe. Thank you for everything you do!!❤❤❤
I haven't watched the other videos yet to see if you found a solution, but you could put the bins on top of the shelves instead! It would greatly increase your library space.
Add some border or a banner to the bottom of your pocket chart to hide that it’s crooked! Or even add it all the way around if it doesn’t look right to just have it at the bottom. 😊 I’m super excited to see the rest of classroom set up!
Obsessed with how open and spacious your room is! I LOVE it! Just finished my classroom set videos, its so rewarding to look back on how much progress is made!
How do you plan on doing your classroom library for COVID? I know some teachers have been saying they are not allowed to even have a classroom library.
So exciting!! You're lucky you're able to set up some of your classroom! I won't be able to do that for the start of the year but I'm at least excited I will have books to read to my kids during distance learning.
I love your videos! You are such a inspiration to me because I want to become a teacher as well! I love watching your videos and keeping up with this process! Thanks so much for sharing this journey! It helps all future educators!📚🍎❤️
This really doesn't matter but after your calender moment I thought I would inform you the 3 in the mail boxes was upside down just in case you didn't know already. Not a big deal to me maybe it's a font thing IDK lol. Stay safe ❤
A great start!!! (Also, is there any way to lower the volume of the music? It blasts so I turn down the volume, then you talk and I have to turn up the volume, and back and forth).
Was the books on the top shelf in some kind of order? I never saw desks shape like that. They look really cool. Can you do part in the vlog where you show you doing your wgu work? I'm thinking about getting my master degree from them.
This was so exciting to watch! I can't wait to see how your classroom turns out. It's getting me more and more excited to start setting mine up!! Can't wait for day 2 ✨ #5thgradesquad
You’re classroom looks so good so far! I love that you have so much lighting and windows in your classroom. I learned a new technique with how you layered the borders, it’s cool. You got this!
YAY! I had so much fun watching you set up your classroom. I'm with you girl!! It's SO overwhelming once you get in there... you're like where do I start? But you did a fabulous job for just one day. I love it already.
Hailey Teaches no problem, I go set up my classroom next week and I’m racking my brain with all the do’s and don’t s of what we can do in the classroom 🤦🏽♀️
Is 18 to 20 kids a ususal class size where you live? In my country and federal state, it's usually 25 to 33. It hate that. In my opinion you can't teach effectively with so man pupils in one classroom. Currently I have 26 kids in my 3rd grade.
I’ve been in districts where class sizes go up to 30, it just so happens at my school we have a smaller population and I’m only expected to have 18 this year. I definitely agree!!
@@HaileyCarvalho 18 would be a dream come true. The number of pupils per classroom is different in each federal state in Germany. For example, in Rhineland Palatinate (where I live), it is 24 pupils. If classes get bigger, they have to be split. I live only about 3 minutes from the border to the next federal state, the state in which I work. The number of pupils allowed in Northrhine-Westphalia is 32, and there is a rule that classes can't be split once they have been formed in 1st grade. So, if you are really unlucky, you get even more than 32 kids in 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade. I started with 22 and now I have 26. I still consider myself lucky teaching Germany, because as a teacher in Germany you are considered an official (hope that is the right translation, another translation I found is "civil servant" - I don't know which one is correct) and get really well payed, can't be fired, etc. But I would gladly earn less money in exchange for a healthier, technically reasonally well equipped and enjoyable teaching enviroment. Less kids, better equipment, support of a social worker in every school, support of a special needs teacher in every school. Things we lack!
she seems like a super nice and understanding teacher!
Using wrapping paper is such a genius idea!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! 🥰

Are you also purring book Bins on the top of the shelf if your not it might be a good idea so you could have all the books out at once
So exciting!!!
Loving these school classroom hacks, thanks for sharing it! #RisingToBe #AsWeRise #Riser #KeepRising #ImARiser
my name is Hailey too
I haven’t watched the other setup videos but I think adding bins to the top of the library shelf would help with the book overload ☺️

Thank you so much Kelsey! I definitely need to keep reminding myself that it won’t get done in a day 🙏🏼 I’m definitely going to try that tip!!💛

A tip, if you have those extra books keep them in storage. Books go missing for various reasons or they get destroyed. So when some disappear put in those new ones that way you will always have a good stack!

I love your layered boarders...so cute!!! Looking forward to DAY TWO!
Thank you so much! 💛
I have a question... If u are a teacher then do u have to buy the tables and desks or does the school provide u with some?
The desks are provided! It probably varies by school, but my school was well equipped with teacher tables and desks.
I haven't watched the other videos yet to see if you found a solution, but you could put the bins on top of the shelves instead! It would greatly increase your library space.
Loving your intro and classroom set up.
Thank you!☺️

Thanks Lena!💛
I have a question are you doing hybrid/half and half school
It’s so funny how being a type a teacher is just doing something, being irked by its imperfection, and just having to deal w it. 😂😂
So excited for you!! Good luck on your new journey 🥰 KEEP THE VLOGS COMING!!🤩
Thank you so much!!🥰
Omg so much money for command strips lol but looks good!!
Future teacher here!!!! Love classroom set up
Yay!! Looking so good 💕
Thank you! 💛
You should get one of those magnetic rods for the white board and use binder rings to attach the calendar instead of 4 of the bulldog clips
Great idea, thank you! ☺️
How do you plan on doing your classroom library for COVID? I know some teachers have been saying they are not allowed to even have a classroom library.
We have not heard anything regarding classroom libraries yet, but I will of course follow the precautions ☺️
So far I am liking what I see of your classroom I cannot wait to see the rest. Are you going to have a classroom wish list?
Thank you so much! I do have an Amazon classroom wish list linked on my linktree link in the description ☺️💛

So exciting!! You're lucky you're able to set up some of your classroom! I won't be able to do that for the start of the year but I'm at least excited I will have books to read to my kids during distance learning.

Oh & Mrs. Campbell’s creators!

If there is paper in the mailboxes will they still be able to see the numbers? If not, you may want to put the numbers on the side or hang off top.
Looks so good!!
Girl you got SO much done! 👏🏼 It looks so great 🥰

It’s the font but thanks for looking out for my type A self! 😂💛
You have so much storage space for your things! I wish we had more cabinets and closet space for our things. I love your room!
Should move your teacher desk and use the book shelves behind it for your library.
Yess finally! I’ve been waiting for ur set up vlogs ❤️
Thank you so much!💛
I love how you set up the whiteboard - it looks so neat!!!!
Thank you! Trying to keep it minimal ☺️

Thank you so much!☺️ Wrapping paper for the win 🥳
A great start!!! (Also, is there any way to lower the volume of the music? It blasts so I turn down the volume, then you talk and I have to turn up the volume, and back and forth).

I am trying to organize the ones that aren’t labeled yet ☺️ I can definitely include more of WGU into the vlogs!
Omg, I got so stressed for you missing your Zoom call! Nightmare! Hope it all worked out!!

I love the little plastic sleeve lables you used on your clear bins.
You’re classroom looks so good so far! I love that you have so much lighting and windows in your classroom. I learned a new technique with how you layered the borders, it’s cool. You got this!

I love that you made the 3 scalloped borders look like they weren’t all scalloped! Super cute! Also random comment but your skin is so pretty!
Thank you!💛
So jealous of your library. I have such a tiny corner in mine I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it stand out.
ahh it looks so good already!! I’m obsessed with your class library and the bulletin board looks great!!
Thank you so much! 💛

Be careful with class jobs and communal items, because of covid they can’t/shouldn’t be touching a whole lot of things. . Good job so far
Definitely! The students will have individual supplies, and some jobs will definitely be reworked! Thank you ☺️
Hailey Teaches no problem, I go set up my classroom next week and I’m racking my brain with all the do’s and don’t s of what we can do in the classroom 🤦🏽♀️

If you put the series bins on the counter above the shelves you could probably fit the rest of your books :)
Thank you!!! I like that idea!!💛
