* Strawberry Roll Recipe *
Ingredients
For the dough
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
-1/4 cup sugar
-2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 and a half tsp salt
- 6 tbsp room temp. unsalted very soft butter
Filling
- frozen strawberries
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Frosting
- 200 ml double cream / whipped cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Warm the milk for 15-30 second in the microwave ( slightly warm to touch )
- In a bowl of stand mixer, combine the warm milk, yeast and sugar
- let it stand until foamy ( around 5 minutes )
- Add eggs, flour and salt in the bowl and mix on medium speed until sticky dough is formed
- Beat in the butter, 2 tbsp at a time until the butter is incorporated before adding the next batch
- Once butter is incorporated , knead the dough for 10 minutes on medium speed
-Shape into a ball and cover with plastic
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until double its size, or in the fridge overnight
- Once the dough is double in size
- Dust your work surface and rolling pin lightly with flour, roll the dough into rectangular size
- Spread butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and strawberry compote all over the dough
- Roll the dough into a tight spiral , cut the roll into 10/12 equal strips
- Roll them up one at a time and place them into the baking pan
- Cover and let the rolls rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes
- Preheat the over 350°F ( 190 degrees C)
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes
-To make the frosting, whip together the double cream and add slowly the powdered sugar and vanilla extract
- Add the frosting or whipped cream on top with some strawberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Enjoy!

Adopting a dog (cocker spaniel) was one of my best decisions. Being outside a lot comes then naturally. Congratulations and all the best😊

I am so happy for you and your husband. Pets are truly family and they give so much love and bring so much joy. I have an 11 years old boxer, her name is Coco, and we love her so so much.
I will be missing your beautiful, cozy home but I am sure your new place will be cozy and beautiful as well. I am planning on doing more gardening, improving my sewing and start learning how to make paper flowers this summer. We will be traveling to upstate New York in July to visit our god son and his wife who will be having their first baby at the beginning of the month. We are looking forward to meet her and spend some quality time with family. Love your new plates and peonies are always a good choice.

I am so happy whenever you release a new video! I love the way you keep your house so tidy and clean❤. I would love to know what kind of spray you use on your sofa and a bit more about other products you might use and that you consider essential for deep cleaning and purifying your house! I also love your breakfasts, I can see you put a lot of love into it! Thank you so much for sharing and for brightening our day! I use a lot of your recipes and my kids love it ❤
Pets are wonderful! They are also a huge responsibility and commitment. I don’t know if you’ve ever had one, but consider that they make messes, have ‘accidents’ and make it difficult to keep a pristine home. A cat will jump on your countertops and scatter litter and leave fur on your furniture and clothes and will probably want to sleep with you. I’ve had cats throw up on my bed. They may claw your furniture. At some point you’ll get cat hair your food. None of this is an issue for me. I have 4 of them and wouldn’t have it otherwise.. Dogs are also a lot of work. But the rewards in companionship and unconditional love are well worth the extra work and expense. BTW- I love your videos. They are beautifully made and very soothing.

We added a kitten to our household last year. I have not had a pet in 40 years of life. I also felt it was big decision. It has been such a joy to have her but definitely an adjustment 😊

I’m glad to see people considering carefully adding a pet to their family though, I think too many people buy a pet like they would do a piece of furniture and it doesn’t always end well for the pet

Hi, Jen! This video is probably the most diverse content video you have done in a very long time. It is full of entertainment for folks everywhere showing your wonderful City and shops. The variety of subject matter in this video and wonderful photography really showed off your "content creator" side. The length was also very welcoming and thks for the length of "word read time". As fastidious as you are, I was very surprised to hear about a pet...especially in your climate known for dirty paws. Be sure it is a breed if a dog, that doesn't shed... like a mini poodle or mini schnauzer. Both breeds are adorable, sweet and easily trainable. They also travel easily which should be a consideration for size and temperament. I know, I have five minis in a very cold snowy climate. One is a female therapy dog. And lastly, female dogs are my favorite over males for although I have more males I find training and temperament goes to the females hands down. Kiss that white couch goodbye...better buy a dark slipcover...lol! P.S. Cats can scratch up the best fabrics on your curtains, pillows, chairs, and couches you...I pass. We're all anxious to know if it will be an apartment home or house? Again, good job!

I had a beloved she-cat for about 13 years. So much joy and company. I also like dogs (even rabbits for pets) but I think a cat is more suitable for an apartment. They don't need to walk outside every single day... even with winter and snow...

How do you do to do all these things and still look elegant and calm? I love the way you decorate/organize everything in your house. It's cute! Just like you I like to reorganize my closet at the beginning of each season to access easily to the clothes appropriate for the weather. Where I live the weather has been a little crazy. We have a week of cold days and another with hot days, so it's tricky. It makes it hard to keep the closet organized, but I'm sure ill get better soon. Thanks for another great video!

Our summer intention is…to sell our actual appartment too !!! To get another one smaller (we are retired) but with a wonderful vue on a river. We cross our fingers to sell rapidly because we already found the new one…. I hope you will also succeed in your project ! And for the pet too !😉

I live in an apartment & have a white sofa thats very similar to yours. I also have 3 cats (an adopted feral & 2 orphaned dumpster kittens). My advice if you get a cat is to invest in a case of lint brushes for your sofa lol. Cats are better for apartments, dogs need a backyard.😀🐈🐕🐈

We had a pet, it’s a lot of love, it’s like a friend who understands everything you feel. if I tell you the truth, sometimes you can go where you want because it’s not for pets or you can’t travel if nobody can look after your pet. I love dogs but you cannot go wrong with a cat! Especially if you love quiet, introverted time. There is nothing like the sweet, purring presence of a kitty. The only concern would be your pristine white furniture--but I think a dog would have a similar impact. Of course you don't need go outside to walk a cat in the frigid winter and then clean her up before coming back in. If you get a kitty you'll just need to keep her nails clipped and the furniture will be fine! Either way, I'm happy for you! Even if you just get a goldfish! Pets are a balm for our souls ^^

We decided back in 2021 to add a new family member so we got a chihuahua (Kiki) and we never looked back! It was an adjustment but she soon became part of our family. Then we added Marnie (another chihuahua) and family is complete ❤

@@Kahvihuone8487 they are and we chose to rescue our 2 as well as they had been abused. We always said “maybe next year” and then the pandemic came and we thought “why not” and never looked back! We did a lot of research too to ensure we had the right dog we could support fully x

What an enjoyable video, thank you again. I have a suggestion for a pet, if you are interested. When our kids were younger we got a Bichon Frise. They are not yappy but cuddly, loyal to their owners, very smart and hypoallergenic. Even though their hair is white you can wear black and you will NOT be covered with hair after they get off of your lap. They do require brushing & bathing as well as regular visits to a groomer but we found it well worth it. They also require yearly shots and you need to brush their teeth. Ours grew to the old age of 14 years. She was very much loved in our home. We found a female was a good choice, she was nurturing. Have fun figuring out what suits your home! And happy house hunting! We want to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday and his retirement!
