After finding out carrots aren’t actually the best thing for a rabbit I’m now glad my rabbit rarely would touch his carrots he would nibble on it then I’d half to pick up prices of carrots from the floor
Yeah my bunny has had carrots in tiny amounts almost slithers as a little treat from now and then but he doesn't even like them 😂 so guess My bun likes to be healthy? Don't know but he does love brocoli!
NOOOO! THAT CAGE IS WAYY TO SMALL FOR THE BUNNY SHE SHOULD EITHER BE IN A X PEN OR FREE ROAM
Ikr!!!
No it's not small
@@animalherder3916 bruh do research
that isnt small. small rabbits like that free roaming is dangerous
@@acyiz that is why you bunny proof the area and make sure its in an enclosed space it doesnt get hurt
IM SO HAPPY IM GETTING A NETHERLAND DWARF FOR MY B-day
(i will let the bunny free roam and im adopting)
Same for me i got to yesterday but the only difference is that I had to pay
@@liammichaelsen8522 there quite expensive tbh
@@starr2870 how much?
That cage is way too small.i hate how America have such different rules on housing for animals than the UK. Rabbits should be able to run and jump
@@thewilliamsfamilyest i KNOW you not talkin in the UK it’s normalized to keep rabbits in HUTS 😩🤚
I can see you're really good with handling and caring for your cute dwarf bunny, they really are very loving. Netherland Dwarf bunnies tend to like large amounts of space even though they are tiny. Free roaming is best if the house is rabbit proofed, the bunny is monitored initially and a bit of training is done. If not, a 5 x 3 x 2/3 C&C cage set up is a great idea to give some extra space. This works out to be about 5 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet high (if you want to build a shelf to put a 1 foot x 2 feet x 1 foot wooden or cardboard nesting house on it, bunnies love the different floors).
The bigger the better really, the C&C cages are great because each square is 1 foot each side and you can expand as far as you like, floors are sold that fit them but using bunny safe fleece is pretty good. I would definitely keep your bunny in the room you will mostly be in if it isn't paired as they really need interaction to stave off boredom and love watching you. If I had the space I would aim for for a C&C cage 10 feet x 8 feet, just so it gives binky room, a little zoom room and room for a big litter tray and lots of toys.
I've found they love cardboard and burrow making as they're semi wild, they naturally will shred things constantly and lots of cardboard houses are perfect for this as well as healthy toys and things they can nibble on, just make sure the cardboard is printed and is bunny safe.
Cages with doors are better as you can herd them in and out, you can buy a C&C panel that has this, herding is much more preferable than picking them up and dropping them back off via the roof but my friend's bunny doesn't seem to mind too much.
My friend expanded her cage to 5ft x 3ft and her bunny was elated, started binkying and running around his new expanded home immediately, he was really happy before but the upgrade really has made the difference for him.
Netherland dwarfs are so difficult to pick up. They kick off there legs
netherland dwarfs really are, they are on of the few breeds that hate being picked up which is why they arent recommened for children, they can drop the rabbit out of fright which can cause serious injuries
That looks exactly like my rabbit
Like literally I thought he stole it when I was watching this
My bunny looks like that too
😂😂😂
Same😂
Lol ya me too
Same but mine is a male and has a mustache..😁😂😂
Aww I got my bunny she six weeks a bit early on he was so tiny. He now sufferrs medical issues. I remember being scared holding him he seemed so fragile. This was really good.
Please get a bigger litter box, a bigger cage and PLEASE more hay.
This is not hate but you need to upgrade to a bigger cage, the litter box is too small and you might wanna get some fleece or bedding to but in the bun buns cage to keep it warm, but if you choose bedding stay away from pine and cedar, get paper based, and i didn’t see but if you have a water bottle get it a bowl it’s more natural for them, thanks
Dude they run over the ball and throw it no- I mean depends on the personality but yeah
I don’t think a rabbit should live in a cage, I have 2 bunnies, litter trained and free run of my home , everything is rabbit chew proof and they are very happy bunnies.
Would it be alright to have a cage to put them in after midnight-ish, and then letting them out again in the morning?
Me too, I've 4 bunnies and they are free to move around
Having a cage is good for litter training you bunny rather than it peeing and pooping everywhere. After a week my Dutch dwarf was trained to use the litter box. So now she can free roam pop in her cage when she needs a rest or the toilet🐇
How do you stop them from going under things like furniture, and beds do you put like a barricade around them ?
That cage is really small and the things in it are really small for that bunny I can bet you that bunny is not happy in that cage
I know some people takes care of them like they are hamster (I know but hamster is small so it doesn't need huge cage) because of dwarf rabbit size
Perhaps he free roams his rabbit around his house. My friend free roams his rabbit and has a cage that size.
That is a perfectly suitable cage for a Netherland Dwarf. I am an ARBA-sanctioned ND breeder. They should be roughly 1/4 the size of the hutch. For transport to shows, they merely have to be able to turn around. As long as there is a lot of hands-on, these are suitable conditions. Rabbits have been known to hurt themselves when they get the "zoomies" in an open environment or a hutch that is too big. This hutch minimizes and mitigates risk of injury.
bunny so smol
Does it drop little round turds everywhere? And damn you got some long ass finger nails
Thank you so much! I’m getting my Netherland dwarf bunny on Friday and this helped a lot!
Be careful dwarf bunnies die fast from being to small that their body’s explode not to scare you or anything it’s just be careful
@@--.Jada.-- I’ve had it for 2 months. He’s fine I’m fine.
@@--.Jada.-- and their bodies don’t explode
@@24kxthalia85 sadly they do what happens is when they get bigger and older over time their organs get bigger and their organs get so big and their bodies are so tiny they end up dying bcs they are bred to be small buying them is legit supporting breeding these poor bunnies and I’m glad he’s alright I’m just saying love him/her as much as u can my family had one and sadly that’s how a lot of them die or very bad health issues if your bunny doesn’t die your very lucky.
Good information but! I have a playpen around my Lion head dwarf, bunny’s condo cage and I put memory foam down .Can just shake it off and wash it in the washing machine this way he is comfortable and bedding in the corner, water, upstairs. They don’t like to be locked up. I leave the door open With-a play pen around it so he can get out of the playpen.
I'm scared, I had a rabbit that looks exactly like him and I had that exact same cage. Anywho! You are correct about the carrots, carrots are very sweet. They are a treat, the thing you should mostly feed your rabbit is hay. And free roaming is amazing! But if you cannot free roam, like me. I suggest getting a pretty big size pen you use for puppies and that pen, you can decorate it! So it's a giant wide open space for your bun to be happy in. And I've heard somewhere that rabbits don't exactly like their butt touched... So hold them to a point where you help their back. It's very sensitive
you had me until i saw the cage. YIKES
Just out of curiosity, several people have mentioned the cage being too small. This cage is actually bigger than the cage I had with my rabbit years ago. What would be some improvements?
@@livefree6878 Maybe try a dog X pen or even free roaming your bunny. Which ever works for you. Just want the rabbit to be safe and happy :)
Ahhh this pen gives me Anxiety
Thank you for this. I just got a 6 year old norweigien dwarf and this was very helpful.
I hold my rabbit on my lap with a blanket on top on him he likes it a lot when he sits on my lap and put a blanket on top of him lol 😂
That cutie looks just like my Evie ❤😍🥰
That looks like my bunny same color and everything. What breader did you get them from?

That bunny is almost identical to my old bunny, Misty. She’s gone now, she passed on the 23/11/22
i'm so sorry :(
That pen looks like a prison :(
She needs a bigger cage. I bought a pet hut large dog cage with open up lid, wheels and door. Lots of room for bunny to move around a bit. I got a open box one for $130.00 instead of $190.00.

@@Taetae-cl7dc during the first couple weeks he might not be used to it so far, another thing is when he/she is old enough getting them spayed/neutered helps a lot with territorial issues which could be affecting why they go everywhere
I had a rabbit like that but I was told it was a she and she turned out to be a he we were so upset for about 10 minutes and then we were happy as hell it’s really hard to tell the sex of a rabbit such as these. Not even my vet could tell the difference.

What a cute bunny. What’s her name?
Wow, that cute little rabbit should not be living in that tiny little cage...
I love my two rabbits. So glad God created rabbits 🐇

thank you for the amazing video!
you need a wayyyyy bigger cage, and fyi you shouldn't even be keeping your rabbit in cages.... and you should have an unlimited source of hay at all times for your rabbit!

@@pppoopooman8585 lmao
So cute
I have a fully white Netherland dwarf rabbit that is even smaller than this one and she is FULLY free roamed and the house is bunny proofed and that cage needs to be thrown the fvck away. Also, picking up a bunny when their back is turned toward you is a mistake. Imagine you being put in that dark and depressing cage. That’s a miserable life. I hate when people think bunnies are any different than dogs and cats. Imagine you putting your dog in that cage. It’s the same exact concept for bunnies and that is horrible. Please educate yourself before getting a bunny knowing that they’re NOT supposed to be in cages. My netherland dwarf is smaller than this one and omg she runs around every single day like crazy! They require big spaces to run around freely and stretch their legs and flop and jump. That cage is a miserable place for them. Rabbits have bundles of energy inside them more than people may think and need at least 8 hours of free time to exercise and if you are not willing to treat your rabbit like you treat your dog or cat (regarding free roaming) than you should not consider a rabbit.
corner litter box isn't good, too many pellets, barely any hay and get them an x pen if possible
Please get a much bigger cage, bigger litter tray and loaaaads more hay. This set up is heartbreaking!!! Such a horrible way for a rabbit to live
I had to turn it off..... Why do you have dog claws for finger nails??
I just got a dwarf bunny yesterday there so cute but there scared of my what should I do

My rabbit is a lot bigger it is a Netherland dwarf rabbit to! Is gray and a blackis color
rabbits do not belong in cages!
We cant communicate, my pair only speak dutch, is that normal
true
The cage is way to small a better idea to get for your bunny is making it yourself by using c n c cage it should be as big as a 2 x 4 or bigger!!
The rabbit likes look my uncle’s last rabbit, but he was grey and his name was Ian
This rabbit is really nice, we’ve had some rabbits that have been extremely mean. I’ve heard some people mention that if the rabbit is nice and calm when it’s a baby as it grows up it will always be nice.
Live Free he was nice, but him and other rabbit didn’t get along
They should be free roamed
I don’t know how to carry a baby 😂
The my rabbit is also a Dutch dwarf
Thank you for this information! I’m thinking about buying one of these!

Lance Davies small cage and like no hay ?
false
horrible cage and water dispenser if you’re trying to make a video to educate others...
Just curious, how big of a cage is appropriate. This is a lot bigger than the one I had when I was in high school. The bunny gets let out so I can run all around the room. I’ve had a lot of comments saying the same thing so chances are the cage is smaller than normal. Thanks in advance.
Live Free the cage has no shavings on the bottom, this can make it very slippery when the netherland is trying to walk around or lay. you also need to make sure he has a very large amount of hay in the litter box, as well as near their food (and change it daily) you should also make sure there’s leavy greens in there as it is 80% of their diet. also make sure there isn’t too many pellets because especially with dwarfs that can lead to obesity and a shorter life.
what i’m saying is that it’s hard to fit all of the correct necessities in there for a rabbit, but i understand if it’s only in there for a little. (with the shavings if it does pee on the bottom it will also be very smelly and your netherland will have soiled feed which will then need to be cleaned
I can definitely see that Wood shavings in the bottom would be helpful. Thanks for commenting back 👍
@@livefree6878 wood shavings are not safe for rabbits. I would use a fleece blanket. thats the best. also I would upgrade the cage as it is too Small not trying to be rude just giving some advice. the BARE minimum is 2 ft by 4ft and even thats small in my opnion. you should also upgrade the litterbox.
toys, and chews are also mandatory as a rabbits teeth are ever growing. they also need stuff to stimulate their mind. these are very easy to DIY at home!
a proper diet consists of 80% hay. Hay is the most important thing a rabbit can have. make sure your cute little bunny is getting UNLIMITED hay!! and a full salad daily.
For more info, I would recommend checking out lennon the bunny. she has GREAT info on rabbits and is where I learned 1/3 of my rabbit care from!!
all the best!
That cage is really small and the things in it are really small for that bunny I can bet you that bunny is not happy in that cage
Idk why they make rabbit cages so small they need freedom lol
