Good stuff! Was in Wales at Easter. LRF on coast very slow so stopped off at a little stream sandwiched between a main road, a dairy and a sewage works. Was stuffed with wild brownies. Even had a little sea trout. Great fun!
Cheers! That was a nice find then! I do tend to put a lot more time into freshwater stuff in early spring as the saltwater fishing is usually pretty poor. Wild brownies are very special fish i think 🙂
@@DevonLerfer be careful though mate before the know it you will be bivied up and chasing named fish!!!! Lol 😂 To be honest I can definitely see the appeal, specially the bivied up bit? 🤔🤣👍
@@damianowens5066 that's what things like the Big Lerf weekenders are for 😂 maybe when I'm old and can't clamber over the rocks any more, but even then there are better options I'm sure! 🤣
Great Video Rich, looks an interesting place to fish with some beautifully coloured Trout. I have to say the music is very Jack Hargreaves, Out of Town ish, was that deliberate??
Thanks mate, its a really interesting stretch and as you say, the trout are stunning. The music was purely experimental but I thought it just seemed to fit! 👍🎣
@@DevonLerfer Thank you very much for the speedy reply Devon , it's apreciated. I'll check it out. After watching your video I thought I may give brown trout fishing a try tomorrow. I live in the Dundee area of Scotland and have access to a burn called "the dighty burn" it's twenty kilometres long, it definetly holds brown trout as I remember from my childhood. I'll give it a try in the morning, thanks again!
Hi. I have started LRF for seatrout and browns but I can believe amount of fish I'm bumping off. I use a rock rover and mepps and braid. Is the tip of the rod too soft? It's driving me mad.......
Hi, it's hard to say but I'd say it's unlikely that you're bumping fish off because the rod tip is too soft. Trout do tend to bump off more frequently than a lot of fish, I definitely have a lot more hits and hook ups than landed fish 😅 might be worth checking your hooks are sharp enough though?
@@DevonLerfer But for me last session was about 4 seatrout and 8 trout touched the lure and only one hooked. It was ridiculous. The mepps have single hooks. The hook seems sharp enough. The river is very low and clear, so it could be that the trout are just seeing the lure off or nervous of the lure, rather than wanting to eat it? Don't know but it's bloody annoying.
That is frustrating. It could be so many things, is the hook too big maybe? I only really fish for trout with small soft plastics, I think maybe the smaller profile and fact you can pause and slow it down more may help? They are definitely tricky though, I hope you manage to work them out mate 🤞🎣
Great way to spend a couple of hours. Trout on light gear is great fun and nicely returned. 👌
Have really enjoyed my trout sessions recently, they're brilliant fun on light tackle aren't they! Thanks, tight lines 👍🎣
Nice one mate, lost count at how many you had! Liked the music too fitted in well
Thanks mate, yeah was a nice busy session 🙂 cheers, I'm glad you liked the music 👍🎣
Unbelievable how many trout were caught in that first little stretch, looks like great fun.
Yeah I've seen them from the bridge so many times, that pool is full of trout. Was great to hook into a few 🙂🎣

Cheers mate, yeah those Tidebeat are brilliant in the salt and freshwater, proper little finesse paddle tail 🙂🎣

Thanks! I've not tried fly fishing but i know that other anglers have had good success there 👍🎣

Nicely done. Even ten foot down and practically under a bridge, you still can't have a session without someone talking at you haha.
Cheers mate. 😂 Literally nowhere to hide 🤣
@@DevonLerfer worth it though. I do love a brownie. I've pinned the location and might have to take the fly rod up there.
