  • Can you believe there are so many informal contractions in English? And they are even sometimes used in writing, for example on Twitter! So it's high time we studied the most popular ones! This will make you sound more like a native speaker!

    Wanna can also replace "want a". For the most lazy ones muna /ˈmʌnə/can be used instead of "I am going to".

    Your English is very easy to be understood; most of times I simply don't get to understand americans speakiing because of the the rapid speech and these contractions you have explained and I've to study it seriously later when I may have an available time, writing and putting the meanings aside.

      Remember: With the continuous (verbing), we need the verb *be*:
      I **am** learning / I**'m** learning

    You are beautiful, Ma'am...and I understand your lesson. In my opinion, non-standard contractions are the written form of "weak forms", combined with assimilation and elision.

    Felicitaciones! Por fín alguien enseña cómo realmente hablan. Éste es el inglés real, el que enseñan en las escuelas poco tiene que ver con la realidad, por eso uno no entiende nada cuando se enfrenta a cómo habla la gente, después de estudiar en las escuelas formales.

    Musta Coulda Shoulda are American English .Brirish English people say Mustuv Coulduv Shoulduv Written Must've Could've Should've but most of the others are common. We contgract I would have to I'd've idov, Some parts of Enland use aint others ahnt (spelt ain't or are'nt or if you come from some parts of the west country bain't. ( Because they say I be, he be for the present ) Prople in the north west say I gorra for I have got e,r I goor go now. I gorra headache
