You see, I already know how to paint eyes.
I never said I was good at it. I just said I could paint them
"Pobodies nerfect" excellent catchphrase
Rj daSuave good place references!
can you do like a whole painting tutorial??? It's so hard to paint....
I remember the first eye tutorial I saw by you years ago!! Followed every step and it literally changed how I drew eyes! Also it’s so amazing that you love Loish too like I have her freaking book I’m her biggest fan
oh wow thats awesome!! glad i could help :] and heck yeah loish is a huge inspiration for me, i saw one of her illustrations in a book when i was young and it totally changed the course of how i draw
10:16 Oh boy, do I have some fun information for you! Catchlights do not always have to be circles and the fact that they usually are has nothing to do with the shape of the eye itself! Those little bright spots reflect the shape of the object casting the light -- the sun, a light bulb, a laser, whatever -- as well as, in video and pictures, the shape that cuts across the camera lens (so, usually nothing, since we don't tend to put things in front of our camera lenses). So, if you want to see different catchlight shapes, all you have to do is get a new light source, like a ring light or a window, or cut the teeniest, tiniest little hole from some paper to put in front of your camera. Obviously, the cutout for the camera will create a much sharper version of the shape of the reflected light in the eye than the light source, but both will work. You want some star catchlights? Maybe triangles? Trapezoids? Rhombuses? Cut out some shaped holes (use a hole-punch if you've got one), hold it against the lens, then take a picture! It's pretty rad!
**EDIT:** We need "pobody's nerfect" merch, like, yesterday.
Goddammit this is so nice. ❤
Like, I wanna pick up my stylus and just... Go! 😁
the language you use is so descriptive and helpful!! notches, lip, concentrated, ring, idk its just fun to listen to
This is such a great tutorial. Its straight foward, easy to understand to follow along, very informative and its not too intimidating as well! It's such a fantastic job and has helped my art immensely! Thank you for sharing Kiwi 💙
I was so hyped for the painting portion. Thanks for the tutorial :)
I would love a skin tutorial!! Ur so talented
Me too
i love the way you talk about the process of drawing, i probably get more of what you're saying now than i did in the past because I've drawn/improved a lot but the way you talk about how you flesh things out and generally just...,, draw is so understandable and specific but it oddly clicks, i hope that makes sense :)
7:15 Cool that we agree on this! I haven't done black pupil in literal years because 1) it looks weird in the lineart stage (when I line in black, that is) and 2) it's more fun to use the shadow color of the iris as the pupil as well! (It's also easier to get away with an oval pupil without going super extra cartoony that way)
I'm not trying to be rude but could we have an updated skin painting tutorial? the first one just kinda confused me...
Edit: The eye tutorial helped a bunch, thank you!
I love this video! You're amazingly talented, your tutorials are easy to follow, your voice is lovely and calming and this was just so good! :) thanks for sharing your process!
It’s a fantastic tutorial here ! It’s not scary to commit and you explain everything very well. The final results are amazing, nicely done! Thanks a lot for your work and video, it’s very helpful ❤️
thank you, this means a lot to me!
Ty for your tutorial and for your art, is really good
people who don't combine layers are those who don't ride the looping roller coasters
Ellie S I’m way less scared of those roller coasters than merging my layers lol 😭😭
Your art tips are very helpful I’d like to see you try to use programs like procreate and krita those are the programs I use, though I don’t have access to a computer right now so I mostly use procreate on my iPad.
WHAAAAT!! i've never known of that multiply layer life hack 😭
Oh, that's really cool and helpful tutorial. Thanks, you're great ♥
why is it that merging layers is frowned down upon? sorry if it's obvious im a little confused
the more you merge layers, the more difficult it is to go back and change something later. you want to preserve your work as much as possible, especially if youre doing commissions, because the commissioner may ask for a lot of changes that may be impossible if you merge everything
If you work in any digital art industry, you aren't the only person using your Photoshop file. There will be touch up artists, card animation artists, artists who change up your illustration in bits where the aspect ratio of your screen has changed, sometimes texture artists... A lot of people.
And also to make it 20 times easier to go back if bosses and clients ask for changes late in the game. But it depends on the skill of the artist too. Kiwi is pretty damn good so she could work like that. ^_^
thank you both!!
omg this is soo helpful, I've been following you since 2015 and you've been a big inspiration for me .Thanku so much
Thank you for the tutorial! Really helpful. Can't wait for your next video 😆
Thanks for the tutorial. Love your art!!
Yay! New kiwi tutorial
Who else has problems with ur own art style? Bruh
I dont even have one :(
I’m having problems being consistent😔
I think i might found mine, and im like super happy about it :)
@@ivlpz3505 ;-;
Where did you get the colour square? I can't find a good one :(
when i try to erase it erases the colour entirely but when you do it it slightly erases leaving some colour? any fixes?
the opacity is controlled by my pen pressure! in photoshop when you have the eraser tool chosen, look at the top toolbar where it says "opacity," then click the little pen icon to the right of it.
This tutorial was kind of hard to follow along with especially bc it felt like there weren’t any concrete steps and u weren’t really pointing out why we should paint along certain places or make it darker or lighter, just telling us to do it
You have unlocked the ability to draw ugly people with pretty eyes
Actually the second eye look korean, and awesome
a hot 20 mins wow!!!!
Thank you for this!!
is tht an ophie eye i see at the end
MORE TUTORIALS BOO xxxx
thank you so much!
If you dont mind..
Can you make a skin tutorial please TwT I've been in digital art for years and the only thing I am bad at is skin painting TwT.
I mean it's okay if you're busy and can't do it, you know... Just giving my shot lol
emizda check Marc Brunet UA-cam channel, he’s a boss
thank u. . . .
anyone else think the way they say opacity is really cute lmao
oof thanks very much, i wanna improve so badly
no problem, glad i could help!
@@KiwiByrd THANKS AGAIN! 💗

I love you and I love your work and I want to get better real artist Can not Tnsahana ?
did yoU CALL EARTH A GLOBE
UGHHH this is not what I meant by paint :'( cool video though
My phone doesn't support live chat kiwi 😭😭😭😭 oh noooo pls notice me
why is it so hard to draw eyes 😭😭
Because eyes are one of the body parts human brains are most sensitive to interpreting small differences in, since they're one of the most significant parts of facial expression. So if the eye looks even a little off, we're very quick to notice.
i can draw nice hair but eyes? hell nah
