there was a mistake- timing: 3:02 SIR SAID: what was expected was that all the particles would be deflected because atom acc. to his model was a positively charged sphere CORRECTION : what was expected was that all the particles will pass straight without any deflection because acc. to his model positive charge was spread throughout the atom which made it too weak to deflect alpha particle
No that's literally incorrect. Thompson model implied there aren't any spaces in the atom so it was expected they would deflect but in reality they didn't.
