Wonderful clip! But you all forget the Big Brain of the group: Russell Ferrante! He´s the one who´s often arrange and write the wonderful songs... So amazing on keys. But as an bass player my self i love Haslips play too! Loves Yellowjackets since i first heard them in the 80:s.
He's a lefty. But he plays a right handed bass upside-down. That's what was available to him when he was a kid, and he's still doing it. He sounds tremendous.
The group where I say Yellowjakets I knew from "Bards of Passage" by Sadao Watanabe. I can listen and am very glad tday. The member plays the music of adult for a cool feelig. Iam splendid.
One of my favorite Jazz groups. I've seen them twice live, and was even fortunate enough to get to meet Russ & Jimmy (haslip) in person. In addition to being some of the world's best musicians, they are also super nice guys!
Señor Jimmy Haslip: Gran Maestro!!!. Mr Jimmy Haslip: Great Master on Bass!!!.Gracias por Tu Mùsica!!. Thanks for Your Music, is beautiful and HQ on taste, feel (melodys, licks, Groove, ALL is Excellent)!!!!!.
Great Song! Great key for a tenor player to express gospel/blues. Everything they play is soulful! Heard them many, many times, live in Sweden! What a inspiration!!
Great great video! Stereo sound's great! THANK YOU FOR THIS. Jimmy Haslip and Russell Ferrante are my fav on this group, but anyway Bob and Marcus (who for some reason isn't here) are just amazing musicians as well.
Runferyerlife Thats the studio album, but this live version kicks so much ass. The studio version of Jacket Town is unreal though. Its one of my favorite fusion tunes.
I especially like them with Will on the drums. Could you post "Invisible People"... track #8 on Greenhouse. The audio sucks on the only one that's posted. - thanks
@ericssonro Looks like a standard righty 6-string being played by a lefty. I definitely feel for lefty players; it seems your only options are to either pay through the nose for a lefty model (if you can hunt one down), or learn to play righty.
6 Strings the wrong way round on a left hand bass, thats got to be awkward to get your head around, if ever you need to switch instruments in a giffy!!!!! Groovy....
Saw them many times, once in DC. I had four tickets and went alone! I has so much fun!!! Will wrecked everyone!
Bob Mintzer has the most beautiful sax sound that I've ever heard.
These guys are my favorite jazz band. The drummer is absolutely amazing...
The Best!!!!
best band in the world
During my funeral, I'll have this playing, please.
This song and Relevation...relaxs me like NO other songs...reminds me of my Mom (RIP)...
This is an absolutely mind melting performance. All 4 instruments, and furthermore all 4 musicians working together To create a PERFECT FUSION.
I bow to the boys! Should be given the jazz key to every city on the map! Thanks for the post.
Jimmy Haslip is the Michael Jordon of jazz. Not only can he shine on his own, but like the best bassists, he also makes everyone else better.

No one sounds as good with this group on bass as Jimmy, no disrespect to anyone else who's taken on the role.
He's a lefty. But he plays a right handed bass upside-down. That's what was available to him when he was a kid, and he's still doing it. He sounds tremendous.
This is my favorite group
This is a wonderful group...easy on my mind!
Jimmy Haslip singing what he's playing...love it!!!!
Обажаю этот коллектив и особенно басиста!!!!!! РЕСПЕКТ!!

Awesomeness......Yellow Jackets tops...!!
One of my favs by them!!
Yellowjackets at their best! Great stuff!
Damn! What a hell of a Tenor sound Bob Mintzer has. And that Bass player singing along during his solo, Awesome!!
That's a true peace-music...
best jazz band!
Love these Guys--Talented Jazz --Pros!!

Wow. I'm blessed and thankful to be able to listen to this. This song played by these guys...
One of my favorite Jazz groups. I've seen them twice live, and was even fortunate enough to get to meet Russ & Jimmy (haslip) in person. In addition to being some of the world's best musicians, they are also super nice guys!
I love this band Yellowjackets !

they are all really great guys in person too :)
I love these guys, damn I do.
Rather fabulous 😎
That's the thing about Jazz: It's free flowing, it comes from your soul. Life too is a lot like Jazz...it's best when you improvise.
superb composition
breathtaking!
Saw them live in Ronnie Scott's a month ago. Amazing performance.
nice ! です.
It's the second cut from 'Run For Your Life' and also features Robben Ford on guitar.
Peace, Love,to all.
Bob MIntzer is the man!!
Yay Bob!
Bobs the man .
Gosto tanto dessa música que usei ela para entrar em meu
casamento... Solo do baixo é divino.
Super!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you
a most interesting study over a 6 motif~~~awesome
@Jadyellow8 Slaaaaaaaaaaaassssssh! Ooooooh that's lovely!
i never noticed that jimmi haslip used the strings backwards
Rsrs.
That’s a big reason why his lines are so unique (and hard to copy). I can always tell when it’s the inimitable Mr. Haslip-master of the melodic solo.
oh Aleluyah, brotha'!!!!
the strings are backwards, see the volume knob and tone, they are where they should be :)
Runferyerlife
Thats the studio album, but this live version kicks so much ass. The studio version of Jacket Town is unreal though. Its one of my favorite fusion tunes.
congratulations Felix

I especially like them with Will on the drums. Could you post "Invisible People"... track #8 on Greenhouse. The audio sucks on the only one that's posted.
- thanks
Jimmy should get a mic so we can hear him grunt properly.
This is when Russell Ferrante had hair. No matter, they are a class act!

is jim going fretless?
i was thinking guardala
Russ should get more credit than he has for keeping the YJ together through the Russo transition. Just awesome.
daje cazzo, dajeeeeeeeee...
i love to know the chords to this song
Does anyone know which album this song is from?...I need to know.
Thanks!!
The even song
What mouthpiece is Mintzer using in this video?
Church?
he's using a metal mouthpiece in this video
You know, I like Marc Russo for his style, But Bobby Mintzer is as sharp as highly polished katana blades!
Mintzer writes a lot of this stuff too.
Tenor Saxophone Setup
Selmer Mark 6 Tenor Saxophone 56,000
Freddie Gregory 7 Star Mouthpiece (ebonite)
Olegature Ligature
Oleg key modifications
Van Doren V16 Tenor Saxophone Reeds 3½
Jimmy Haslip, with a different haircut every time I see him.
wath is happend with the saxophonsplayer face Oo??
trading 5's??
Thumbs down ???
its a metal ottolink.
6 Strings the wrong way round on a left hand bass, thats got to be awkward to get your head around, if ever you need to switch instruments in a giffy!!!!! Groovy....
I need therapy....I really do not like Yellowjackets-please help me get a diagnose.
I didn't know that Lionel Ritchie was a sax player -;)
bob looks dead but still plays like noones buisness... crazy...
