I remember those old ships sitting in Misery Bay for years. Every year when we came up for family vacation they were there. I love the Pressure Isle and the Erie area. Coming up in August
Thank you. SO great. My mom's truck stop was west across the street. We lived on warfel Ave. Played in the bowling alley in the plaza south of Masons. Wow. You have created a bunch of Erie monsters. I Google Earth, your site and another one. Can spend hours seeing what was. ❤
Oh wow, I forgot about the Red Barn, and I loved Red Barn. Great burgers. I was lost after they closed. And Grant City. I worked in receiving there, and when the color TV's were bought in, we'd test every one of them, often tuning into CHCH TV, Channel 11 in Hamilton, Ont., Canada. They had some nice soft porn late at night. Even the boss loved it. Yes, he knew. He was cool as long as we did our work and got it done.
That golf course is up above the zoo, I believe. I think it was called Glenwood Hills golf course. I remember my parents taking us to Red Barn. The had chicken, as well as burgers.
We had Red Barn, Boron and Mobil gas stations and Kroger in Michigan too. I remember the Red Barn's as a kid, but only after they had closed. You can still tell to this day where they used to be by their unique architecture. The Mobil signs look EXACTLY the same today as it did in the 1960s. I can't believe they never updated them.
When I worked there they also had excellent deep fried chicken. I was only allowed to eat chicken on Wednesdays or when ever the manager was gone. Lol.
Thats not downing. I grew up on 3rd hole. Spent my entire life playing golf, football and baseball there. Dont recognize any of it. Also there are caddies in video. My guess it Kahkwa
We used to go to the red barn on East Lake Road and get a big bucket of fried chicken it was delicious does anyone remember the Lawson convenience stores they had the best sliced ham we would get a big pile chip chop ham

Omigosh. My house was right there- Erie Manor.
I could really go for a Red Barn burger right now, those were the good old days! Thank you so very much for putting this out!
If you're willing to travel to Racine, WI. It's now called The Barn. 🍔
Thank You for this video about the 1960s I also miss the 1960s

My mom sent my dad to that Red Barn for onion rings when she was pregnant with me. Loved this video.
OMG frozen bananas from the dock! Wow that just brought back some memories for me thanks
I remember our house off Clinton dr at night i could smell the brewery making beer also could here the lions roaring at 3in the morning
My eldest sister worked at that 12th/Pittsburgh Ave Red Barn in the late ‘70s.
I enjoyed that. Since I was a teen in the 60's, I remember everything from that decade.
Because of the shape and undulation of the greens and caddies, the golf course is most certainly Kahkwa Club.

Before Char House i ate where mom worked. Red barn every night. It was great.

probably the Glennwood Park Golf Course
Due to filming locations on the west side and the undulation’s on the greens’ - it’s most likely the Kahkwa club!
My Aunt Nancy worked at that Red Barn, brings back a lot of memories.
the unknown golf course is Glenwood, Next to the Erie Zoo.
Holy crap, awesome. Showed my parents this and they loved it. Do you have any more?
Does anyone have pictures in the area of Chestnut and Craig street? Remember the Bungalow Store on the North East corner ?

The stations were called Boron in Michigan (and apparently Pennsylvania as well) but were known as Sohio in Ohio.
The Country Fair stores jumped right on that Red Barn look after RB disappeared it seems
My good old days
now go back and film the exact locations. What a difference a few decades makes :-)
When I worked there they also had excellent deep fried chicken. I was only allowed to eat chicken on Wednesdays or when ever the manager was gone. Lol.
OMG, old memories
this is pretty cool. Go to settings-speed- then slow down to 0.25 to see everything.
the beginning is West erie plaz
Grants plaza-across the street (sorta) from West Erie plaza actually.
The shot of the Boston Store is West Erie Plaza
The cement pad is still sitting there
The golf course was Downing. I remember Mason's always smelled like Scotchguard and popcorn.
Thats not downing. I grew up on 3rd hole. Spent my entire life playing golf, football and baseball there. Dont recognize any of it. Also there are caddies in video. My guess it Kahkwa
Course is Kahkwa. Caddies carrying clubs.
Anyone remember the restaurant at Grants where they rang a bell when ordered a big sandwich
I'm planning to see the solar eclipse there in 2024. Are there any great places to see it from?
Gospel Hill, Penn State Behrend
A look at a simpler time in America. ☺️
I think that is Glenwood golf course.
Brian Z.
Glenwood doesn’t have that type of undulations on the greens.
Has to be Kahkwa Club.
Kahkwa......caddies.
Glenwood golf coarse ??
Golf course might be Kahkwa Club
Paul Tate
Yes, I believe it is!
Looks like jc martin
Could the golf course be Brabenders?
No......there are caddies in video
Course is Kahkwa....caddies humpin clubs.
We used to go to the red barn on East Lake Road and get a big bucket of fried chicken it was delicious does anyone remember the Lawson convenience stores they had the best sliced ham we would get a big pile chip chop ham
If you can believe it, there are still Lawson's convenience stores. They are all in Japan. Not joking.
I used to get popsicles and Marvel comic books from there up the street from the Red Barn in the film. It was right off of Peach Street.
I had no idea that plaza is called the Lakewood Plaza. Been going there all my life. Especially when USA Skating Rink was there.
Loved usa of America!! 🛼 hi mike!!
WOW Gas 31 cents a gallon!
I like to play this video on the lowest speed setting
It’s funny how everyone dressed up back then, no jeans with tears and rips.
Erie golf course
1:18 Back when gas prices only needed two numbers...
Golf course probably Kahkwa because there are caddies. This is a time when the city was good, not like now
