In my AU William built the Nightmares as body guards for the Afton Kids after the death of his father. The purpose for the Nightmares was to scare the Afton kids, not too much, but just enough to scare them into going back home if they were in a dangerous situation. And since there was basically 6 nightmares, not counting the Halloween ones, each Afton kid was protected by two Nightmares. Michael: Nightmare Foxy and Nightmare Freddy CC: Nightmare and Goldie Elizabeth: Nightmare Bonnie and Nightmare Chica And after William’s first spring lock failure, a bit of remnant got ejected from him and landed in the Nightmares, causing all six of them to be trapped in CC’s mind.
I absolutely love your au ! The detail and thought that went into their backstories is amazing , because unlike other aus , yours actually has reasoning behind why characters did things and their personal preferences . In most aus cc is chill with the nightmares , so the fact that he’s still scared of them is a nice change !

He doesn't need to breathe or anything anymore, and lack of oxygen gets rid of the electrical activity in your brain that tells your body to pump blood to your nervous system. I doubt he feels anything now that he's dead-ish. Not trying to say the answer is wrong and he might still have it. I just think maybe he has either a different reaction to cats than before OR if he does still have it he no longer feels it anymore. Maybe he doesn't have the allergy anymore. The actually reason why Chris got his nightmare illusions is beacuse of the animatronics on stage whom is, Spring Bonnie, Fredbear, Nightbear(Fixed Nightmare), Spring Foxy(Golden Foxy), Spring Chica, and then you also have freddy and friends wich is just the original five, yes, golden freddy was also included but as Spring Freddy, thats why he(Or her if you are naming the soul from Fredbear, Golden Freddy, Cassidy) was renamed golden Freddy, but C.C never saw Spring Freddy as he was taken to be stage 0.1 Fredbear,(Partners with ITP SpringBonnie), but is also avaible when you hit night 4 - 5 wich the special characters come out (N.M Fredbear, N.M Springbonnie, NIGHTMARE and N.M Springfreddy) but also has a very low chance, thats why some people have only seen the other two,but I have seen him, it could have been a glitch with the coulors on night five, but it looked like a golden -ish N.M Freddy, or my screen is just really dusty- But the nightmares exist from the actual animatronics, I am not judgeing the lore from ur AU in anyway but some people may not know why it actually happens.
A little fun fact is that the spring-locks couldn't be activated because they were already activated when the bite happened. The spring-locks activate to turn on the animatronic mode. In fredbear was already in the animatronic mode. So it's impossible for the spring-locks to be activated. So really, the reason the bite happened was probably because fredbear was lip-syncing to a song and by that, I mean he was opening and closing his mouth and when crying child was put into his mouth, he just followed his programming and closed his mouth. Causing cc to die.
