I have learned over time that you don't really have to understand the language to enjoy Ethiopian music, there's just some magic in Ethiopian ballads, God bless this beautiful country with more wonderful talents. I love you
I'm Central American (Guatemala/Nicaragua)and don't understand a word but have such a deep appreciation and love for Ethiopian music/culture! Side note: In the U.S I'm always confused for Somali or Ethiopian. Always been ok with that lol....such beautiful people!
I discovered this song after my Amharic teacher explained me the meaning of this song. Really grateful to know this gem. I love Ethiopia with all my soul and body. Suddenly it started to play on a Sunday afternoon while I was making Ethiopian coffee. One of my dreams is also to play in a Ethiopian music band :) peace and love to everybody on this beautiful blue planet. 🇪🇹💚💛

Am from Kenya. This is a treasure, which I just discovered today....Your voice is angelic..... I love the song though I don't understand the language. The voice is heavenly. Simply beautiful. Its on repeat mode.
What a song!!!! Can't get enough of it. Soothing. Always listen to it when I want to talk to myself or remember my childhood/youth in Dire Dawa and Addis. God bless Fikreaddis
I am from East Africa ( Congo &Uganda) and I don't speak Amharic , but I can feel the deep sense of this love music because of the vibe, and how beautifully it sang with one of the most sweetest, softest, elegant and most beautiful female voices from Africa. The melody is just so sweet and more so the Sexaphone is so much beautifully played with a real artistic and professional passion. What is the name of the man who played the Sexaphone. The Sexaphone, Piano and bass guitar just made the music to flow like river nile. The Sexaphone melody reminds me so much of Kenny G ( the world's best Sexaphonist). Many thanks Solomon Tadesse for translating this beautiful song , to English.
There is no saxophone in this clip the guy is playing clarinet! Almost 10 people were given credit for this musical clip unfortunately no credit was give to the piano man and to the man with clarinet.
All love and appreciation for this wonderful performance and fresh voice Although I do not understand the words of the song but I love performance .ALL THE LOVE TO MY SECOND CURRENT ETHIOPIA 🇧🇴 FROM SUDAN🇸🇩🇸🇩
+Fikeraddis Nekatebeb Fikir ere wusiten shereshershiwu. it is an amazing and incridable sound track that I deeply fail to wards my heart sweetly. You have great place in my life through your sound I manage my life. really I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you. the only word for u is "God Bless You"
I don't understand Amharic, but this song "Misekir" by Fikreaddis Nekatibab gives me goose bumbs when listening to it because it is a very nice song well sang with a very sweet voice of Fikreaddis Nekatibab, and the sexaphone is so beautifully played as it blends sweetly with the singing and the instruments. This is a pure beautiful song from the only country in Africa(Ethiopia) that was never colonised.
I finally visited Ethiopia view months ago and found Ethiopia so attractive country, very nice country, Ethiopia with mountain and hills, you will understand Ethiopia is very ancient country that is why they have developed very deep music.
Dear Listeners, The title of the song is "Missikir". It is an Amharic word which means " A Witness". It is a love song in which the singer asks the audience to accept her voice as a "Witness" 0f appreciation of love. The singer, Fikreaddis Neqatibeb is one of the best female singers in Ethiopia with a unique, elegant, lovely, and refined voice quality. The Melody producer Abebe Birhane ,a prominent professional in the music industry is her husband.
MISSIKIR by FIkiraddis INTRO May my voice be heard as a WITNESS, May it be listened as a response to the Love he has shown me. May I be trustworthy for the man who has been in my thoughts when I needed one. VERSE You are beloved ! You are beloved ! You are beloved ! You are beloved ! You are beloved ! I never spoke my mind for the last two years, As there was no one listening to me. You will not hear that silence anymore, For you opened your heart for me. Trust me ! Trust me ! Trust me ! I am always yours / 2 / Isn't Love a precious gift vis-a-vis cash and property as done by many ? Just for the sake of talk Is there a lover in the country who opens his heart for love? Trust me ! Thank you so much for the translation. This song touch my heart . I love this song . My first time, I listen to it 15 times still not enough Hosam from 🇸🇩
I’m from Washington USA and I don’t understand anything in Ethiopia language but Ethiopian music is so magical and I wish to visit the country one day I love you all my brothers and sisters from Ethiopia 🇪🇹❤️
Im from Eritrea, I really in love with this beautiful song however, I didn't understand what she said no matter what, she have incredible sound so pretty 👩 always love you ❤ keep it up.
Honestly speaking this people make peaceful music. They have a good DNA that relate peace and joy to the soul because of their simplicity and their tone of voice .The voice also relate to their Soul. I wish all circular contemporary music is like this then we shall have that peace we have always been longing for .
What an amazing song it is! I have not been a fan of her as my heart was occupied with Aster Awoke. But this song, it just penetrated deep in to my heart. The set up was great like the wooden house, the lighting on the darkness ,the lake ,the boat, the couples and their passionate feeling visible on their face. All these combined with the broken voice that comes out of her throat was unique. look at everybody's face, it is shining like a gold. This song takes one's love memory back to its beginning. I am listening it repeatedly again and again..Especially when you are far from home, the feeling is different As it does not require a language to understand it, I hope the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite will enjoy it. In short, it is a second to none.
+Ibrahim Dawood she is singing about her deep feeling for her love. " in previous years i was feeling like being alone, currently there is no one who give his heart for someone. but you gave me your inner heart....you are man of love....now i can see love by my eye. believe me i am your!!! forever!!!....i am a witness for your priceless love..." i hope so, you get something...sorry i am not professional translator.
OMG! Ethiopia got so much advanced and attractive since I left. I can't wait to come back. You have such a great voice too. Btw, the guy at 2:42 is soo cute.
Apart from Somali songs, Ethiopian songs are second tha i enjoy most because their music is so dope! And there women's gorgeous and so their mens handsome!! #Your brother somalian boy #love #Ethiopians
For sure, I wholeheartedly love this song! Initially when I heard it, I was about to cry yet I did not understand the message. I am Rwandan, but the beat is telling a love message to most listeners' hearts. I wish I could her with her husband one time in KIGALI. The city where she performed looks Amsterdam, or any Dutch City.... May God bless her so much with a life-changing voice.
at 4:45 marker it states that the venue for this clip was at ሊሳቅ ሪዞርት | Liesak Resort (Tenker's Bar) in Debre Zeit (then) or Bishoftu (now) which is 45 km south of Addis.
Dear my beautiful sister Fikreaddis Nekatibeb, how did you write and compose such a beautiful, nice, sweet song that has captured my heart and soul, and captures the heart and soul of many Ethiopians and Africans? May our God bless you. Salam 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
The hit song Misikir by Fikeraddis is almost 7years old and according to me it is in fact evergreen. The singer herself is really the prettiest. In fact I don't understand Amharic, but this song arouses in the feeling of the deepest love for the woman who is not there. Congratulations Fikeraddis and I wish you all the best !!!

What a song!!!! Can't get enough of it. Soothing. Always listen to it when I want to talk to myself or remember my childhood/youth in Dire Dawa and Addis. God bless Fikreaddis
My family and I love this song soo much , even though we dont know what you are saying. Love from Senegal
She's saying 'emenegn = believe me' as she confesses her love to him.
+Messy Boots am Sudanese I love her music, what is Misekir, please tell me. I love this music
+Alexander Tessema Thank you so much for explaining the Amharic word to me
love you fakir
Adiouma Sow How do you like it then ???

I don't understand Amharic, but this song
"Misekir" by Fikreaddis Nekatibab gives me goose bumbs when listening to it because it is a very nice song well sang with a very sweet voice of Fikreaddis Nekatibab, and the sexaphone is so beautifully played as it blends sweetly with the singing and the instruments. This is a pure beautiful song from the only country in Africa(Ethiopia) that was never colonised.
This song is the most romantic amharic som I ever heard well done love from Eritrea ❤❤
Thanks Tuki With love

I finally visited Ethiopia view months ago and found Ethiopia so attractive country, very nice country, Ethiopia with mountain and hills, you will understand Ethiopia is very ancient country that is why they have developed very deep music.
You understand and describe my country very well. That is facy
I mean that is fact...
Dear Listeners,
The title of the song is "Missikir".

May my voice be heard as a WITNESS,
May it be listened as a response to the Love he has shown me.
May I be trustworthy for the man who has been in my thoughts when I needed one.

You are beloved ! You are beloved ! You are beloved !
You are beloved ! You are beloved !
I never spoke my mind for the last two years,
As there was no one listening to me.
You will not hear that silence anymore,
For you opened your heart for me.
Trust me ! Trust me !
Trust me ! I am always yours / 2 /
Isn't Love a precious gift vis-a-vis cash and property as done by many ?
Just for the sake of talk
Is there a lover in the country who opens his heart for love?
Trust me ! Trust me !
Trust me ! I am always yours /2/
INTRO Repeats
VERSE
May I call you my Peace !
May I call you my Happiness !
May I call you my Pride !
May I call you my Faith !
May I call you my love of life !
May I call you my love destiny !
I have been looking for this love on others with no success,
Now I found it in you and is gonna live with me.
I came to your spiritual Monastery as a Nun,
To be your Soulmate by diving deep in to your Soul. /Repeat the last four lines of this Verse/

In my eyes , yes in my eyes,
I see love in my eyes,

Honestly speaking this people make peaceful music. They have a good DNA that relate peace and joy to the soul because of their simplicity and their tone of voice .The voice also relate to their Soul. I wish all circular contemporary music is like this then we shall have that peace we have always been longing for .
I love this song so much, I have been playing it back to back. I don't know what it means but the lady can sing effortlessly. Much love from Kenya
