Even though you smile a little when you say it, you do have an influence on us: you are trying to teach us a new language and when we finally manage to learn it, our brains will never be the same!. Thanks for the lesson.
Op de fiets is 'on' the bicycle: Ik zit op de fiets. Met de fiets is 'with' the bicycle: Ik ga met de fiets naar Amsterdam. In some cases, you can use both.
In Russian and sometimes Ukrainian there is also the same construction: "op papier". I like how in many cases Dutch and other Slavic languages share features you would not expect them to do. Probably the cultural influence of Dutch during its colonial Era has something to do with it
Thank you sooooo much, I love your language and it has interested me for a long time, however, there is no academy in my country, I use books and apps, but it doesn't feel enough. I almost gave up, but I took a look at your channel and I will continue this (hard) path by learning Dutch guided by your lessons. Again, thank you so much. 😊
Alain bedankt.
Soms kan je beiden gebruiken... Op mijn rug is 'on my back' en in mijn rug is 'in my back', in jouw lichaam. Op Schiphol is 'at the airport' en in Schiphol 'in the buildings of the airport'. En op de kamer is het algemene concept, in de kamer is fysiek in de kamer.
Hallo! Dank je wel voor de videos! Ik leer veel met jou. Could you do a video over the different ways of saying "some" in Dutch? I've seen so many words! Sommige, wat, iets, enkele, bepaalde, and it's confusing to know which to use.

What is the difference between
Op de fiets and
met de fiets
Op de fiets is 'on' the bicycle: Ik zit op de fiets.
Met de fiets is 'with' the bicycle: Ik ga met de fiets naar Amsterdam.
In some cases, you can use both.

Yes, Peter the Great spent some time in the Netherlands and it might be related to these similar features.
very clear, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Dank je, Alain. Heel interessant.
Perfect
Dank u wel! ❤
dankjewel!
I FINALLY know what op=op means after 9 years! "when it's gone, it's gone". No more.
Happy having solved that issue for you!
Also Zijn (finitief) trots op and, Wachten (finitief) op
