The Queen has rwo roles. The first is the ceremonial side and the constitutional side. Every day she reads the accounts of the Parliamentary debates. Any laws passed by the House of Commons do not become law until she signs the documents. Technically she can refuse to sign, but, to my knowledge she has never done so.
      Hope this helps. Warmest regards.

The reason some kings wanted to ban football is that, in their day, it wasn't the organised sport that we know and love today. It was, instead, two neighbouring villages kicking the sh*t out of each other for a while, with the goals a couple of miles apart, or so.

"Nobody knows".. nah, it is "nobody knows for certain" but rolling logs is one way to do it, rafts across water etc and those have been tested, been found to be most plausible. It has been quite an ordeal to transport them, a lot of it is unknown or uncertain but it is a bit too much to say "nobody knows", cause we have quite a good idea how they did it... Which is fair, there aren't that many methods they could've used. Just imagine how LONG it takes to get just one stone moved, it has been quite a massive commitment from the society that built them. A lot of extra grain were needed.

The reason for the large amount of pubs on the UK is that back in the day, it wasn't safe to drink the water, so nearly everyone, kids as well, drank alcoholic drinks. Also the reason why pub signs have pictures and unusual names is because again back in the day most people couldn't read or write and relied on a picture to let them know it was the right place. The amount stated is less than it was because a lot have now closed owing to changes in habits and clean water.

She has been playing that role for 70 years so she's very familiar and experienced in politics. She has played a role in wars, resignations and all sorts of national disasters. As a proud Englishman ( But more importantly a Christian & fellow ‘ Human Being ‘ ) , I would
Simply like to say to You with much Brotherly Love & Affection ?
    Thankyou ‘ J T ‘ Sincerely for ‘ Spreading The Love ‘ ! ! !
You come across as a very well rounded and loving person with a lot of interest and appreciation
    of others .
Despite having faced many problems & adversity in your life !
    Well done mate !
Keep smiling J T as I would consider it a privalidge to have someone like yourself as a Friend !
I could not help but notice how some comments can be rude and negative .
It just emphasises how ignorant and judgemental and opinionated some people are .
    Fortunately J T ‘ You and I ‘ Would rather ‘ Share the Love ‘ to make this a better World !
Much Love And Affection J T . What a nice guy You are ! .
Ps . What does J T stand for ( What is your name ) ?

@@gtaylor331 Ooohhh...can I be number #2? I know lots of stuff about the UK. I've always been a fan. What I don't love is when people classify a whole nation as ignorant because they don't on average know much about the culture of a small country on the other side of the world. How much does your average British person know about Filipino or Brazilian culture? And sure they maybe know a bit more about American culture because a massive amount of English speaking media is American but even then that's superficial. Very few people I've known from other countries including the UK could point to my state (Lousiana) on a map or tell me any more about it's culture than Mardi Gras and New Orleans and there's a bit more to it than that. And the thing is, that's absolutely fine. There are too many places in the world for any one person to know all about all of them. What's not fine is stereotyping people based on nationality. If it was, there wouldn't be a point to me learning anything about British culture, I could have just stopped 25 years ago after I watched Mr. Bean and just assumed everyone over there was a bumbling idiot.

It´s interesting that the American rebels against Britain in the 1770s framed their campaign as a protest against the monarch, since the monarch had already really been only a "mascot" for about 100 years.

The union jack is actually only called a union jack if it is mounted on the front of a battle ship with a wooden pole (jack). Other than that it is just called a Union flag.
We go to the pub all the time. It's normal as pubs usually also serve food and have a pool table. It's quite common to go to the pub for an evening meal with the family (including children) rather than getting a takeout. Or you can meet your friends for lunch. Also you can stay overnight in some pubs if they are called an Inn, same as a hotel.
I pay approximately £600 per month out of my wages for tax and national insurance, healthcare isn't free, We pay for it, just over a period of time and we can help others (elderly, young single mums or dads, those who can't work) who can't afford healthcare in the hope that their children will be paying their taxes too in the future. We sort of help eachother. There was a time that I needed help as a single mother at 17 but I pay back into the system now. It certainly isn't free. A quarter of my income goes on tax and national insurance

Theoretically, the role of the British monarch (king/queen) is to serve as head of state while the PM is the head of government. Practically though, the queen doesn't do much. She mostly delegates her duties to other senior royals (like Charles, the prince of wales) or to government ministers like the Prime minister.

I live in Gravesend, Kent where Pocahontas is buried within the grounds of St George's Church. The church burnt down and the exact location of where she is buried was lost. The church is at the bottom of town in a nice quiet area. When the Disney movie came out, our little town was filled with visitors from all over the planet.

    • @richard6440
      @richard6440 2 роки тому

@@DumDum0608 ... Coats are not jackets, and jackets are not coats.
How does that work? It’s a question of length. Jackets are shorter. Think of where styles like a denim jacket, bomber jacket or quilted barn jacket fall. While lengths are different for men and women’s outerwear, they generally hit around or just below the waist.
Now think of a coat. Something like a down coat, a trench coat or a peacoat. These pieces of outerwear fall lower, anywhere from mid-thigh to even below the knee. This allows them to function as heavier-duty pieces of outerwear.
