- On January 26, the Yale Program for the Study of Antisemitism hosted a webinar with Gregory Jones-Katz, a professor at the Chinese University of Hong-Kong-Shenzhen entitled "Challenging Humanism: Jews, Theory, and Yale During the Closing Decades of the Twentieth Century." In a 35-minute presentation, Prof. Jones-Katz discussed the ways in which the first Jewish professors in the humanities at Yale mobilized concepts drawn from continental philosophy/theory to contest dominant narratives and power structures, ultimately opening a place for Judaic Studies and the study of the Holocaust within the university. The presentation was followed by 30 minutes of questions from the audience, moderated by Professor Maurice Samuels.
