The song I feel fits the past 100 years ago in botw. Assuming that Link during his brief moments of opened up to Zelda to a long extent, probably wants the best for Zelda, not just her safety. Ensuring she can live to another day and see the sun, he was then super willing to protect her not just as her silent knight, but as a loved one.
