As soon as I saw the CGI trailer, I knew the story was gonna be terrible. It feels very "How do you do, fellow kids." The map is pretty nice, but it's a shame that it's stuck in such a mediocre game with average-to-poor gameplay. I really hope they finish the SR2 PC patch, because I'll probably end up playing that more.
i like the story, except for those moments where kev isnt restrained to post about the church on twitter, and kev wants a toy, and... fuck this fucking larp, made me slowly cringe until i died inside, i now want to replay missions rather than create a whole new save (which im more or less not willing to)
Should we really be hopeful about the SR2 patch? They delayed this game for a reason, and It’s still buggy af.
I just bought Saints row 2 a few days ago i use to think it was a gta clone but after try it i was a amazed of all the things you can do and the character creator is one of the best i made my character look like Giga Chad and i dress him like kiryu from yakuza and some times like claude from gta 3 and i even made a goku cosplay this games is sooo fun. Is sad to see if they could made this year's ago now days they made the bare minimum.
I get the impression that volition doesn't want to make saints row games, and merely cobbled together this bland piece as an attempt to stay afloat after AoM flopped.
Yeah tbh I don't think they have wanted to make it since SR2. The Third was decent at the time but played into all of the jokes going around at that time which at this point in 2022 make the game too cheesy to play. They shouldve branched off instead of creating the third imo and then came back later if they wanted to pick it up again for a third game
@@SeasoningTheObese After the layoffs following AoM, and the limited rehiring when they started working on the new SR, I feel really bad for the people working there. I can't imagine many of them would have been happy with this game in the state its launched in, or the direction it went in
Nah I think the opposite. They want to, but they don't know how/don't have the resources. The main issue though is the story, it's like Milhouse wrote it. Idk
I don't think they want to make open world games. I think Red faction armageddon was them trying to see if they could get away with just going straight up linear. I mean if you look at 3 and 4 both have generally really good and fun missions with the issues mostly being in the open world. No wonder it took a spin off from another dev with gat out of hell to have a interesting-ish world again
It sucks having to hear one of the biggest Saints Row fans be disappointed.
it sucks to have a new saints row game release and its complete shyt. that sucks
@@sophiacole61 yes it does. It might be an ok game but it sucks as a Saints row game.
The Friends theme after Kevin's shirt comment fit surprisingly well, really illustrated your point lol
i’m not sure where people say that “Saints row was always cringey”
As much as I enjoy it and love SR 3 and 4 (despite its flaws)
Those games had better dialogue than the Reboot
I never got it either. SR1 was a serious game with humor mixed into it, and SR2 was more humorous.
I also never really got that whole argument.
"The series was always shit guys, so it's okay"
Like wtf.
Saints row 2 was just pure badassness. I found SR3 cringey though with all the constant and forced humor.
RIP Saints Row
2006-2008
For every step this game takes forward, they take two steps back.
Or in this case, 20 steps back. I've been playing saints row since it became free for ps3 thru ps plus, and I have no idea what the devs were thinking while making this "reboot".
@@morkgin2459 Even when I hate this game with all my soul, I gotta admit there are some fun jokes and nice features, but overall the game really takes 2 steps back
We told them 1 year ago how bad the game looked. What did Volition say in response? HATERS GONNA HATE
The company deserves whatever happens to them at this point
@@somebawldy3789 Every time someone says that the collective brain cells of Humanity lowers.
my dad showed me saints row as a kid (sr2 is my favorite game of all time) he ended up buying both of us a copy and i can confirm co-op is definitely the most fun you can have
If it wasent for my dad I would have never knew what saints row was he gave me saints row 2 for the Xbox 360
Sr2 was and always will be the best they need to remaster sr2 for the new systems and the xbox one and ps4
No shit. Everything is fun with friends. Sniffing glue is fun with friends.
I feel like instead of making an awful game to kill a franchise, they could've just said that they don't want to make Saints Row games anymore. There's nothing wrong with that decision, and they could've at least made a new idea with... passion?.. I don't know how to feel about Volition anymore.
The problem is fans wanted a game to vindicate their division over SRIV, GOH and AOM (AOM got the same backlash then too). I just wanted an updated game that just played for a modern console with better gameplay than SR1 and SR2, but the story and writing of those games, with the addition of the SRTT characters fitted into it.
Instead they gave us something nobody asked for. Again. Screw all that, lets have a board commitee who knows nothing about the series, decide for us what they think kids want in an adult game from hipster trends, 10 years ago.
They should have NEVER used the Saints Row name, if they wanted to do their own thing. Because Saints Row already has a fanbase -- and with a fanbase comes certain expectations. What they tried to do was twist and mutated Saints Row into something else, but you cannot do that because the fanbase has their vision of the series, and it needs to be in alignment. So all they got was enemies and rejection, and that's what happened for the Reboot Announcement Trailer.
there's going to be some angry people, and in the end we will be left hanging
What game would they have made that was good though? I can't see a good Red Faction or Descent coming from the studio that released a game in this state. Plus, Saints Row was their cash cow and after the failure of Agents of Mayhem I guess they had to return to it to try and make a turn around. Idk if we'll get any more games from Volition anyway.
Let's not forget that this game cost us a Saints Row 2 remastered
It feels sort of horrible to me that Idolninja's dying wish was to see that game patched and seemingly it's totally dead. Volition put tweets out on their own account and on the SR account remembering him just after the game launched, and I just have to think that it's sort of a kick in the teeth.
Are you saying we was originally going to get a saints row 2 remaster but instead got this?
@@MkxDog He meant the patch that Idolninja was working on in this game, it's a common mistake to think that the patch is a remaster, but it's just a hotfix to all the glaring issues of the port and it also adds the dlcs that were exclusive to the console versions.
Maybe that’s a good thing at this point. I wouldn’t want Volition doing the remastering if they’re not stopping with this level of absurdity.
An sr2 remaster would be incredibly hard given its such a old game made by a different type of studio all together and some code is lost
Thanks for being honest and pointing out all that is good and bad. This game is just underwhelming and awful. Combined with the fact that volition and their devs are lashing out at critics. I guess it’s safe to say the franchise is destroyed.
This is somehow worse than the self sabotage of Activision….actually nvm because at least Violation didn’t try to kill one of their past games.
Seriously idk why they thought trying to kill MW 2019 was a good idea but thank good they pulled out.
@@TheManWhoErasedHisNane I think it because like half the fanbase either loves that game or hates it
It’s not a mixed bag, it’s absolutely terrible.
This game is literally to Saints Row what Dead Rising 4 was to its franchise.
Saints Row 2 is the definition of lightning in a bottle. I am starting to think not even Volition were awere of what an amazing game they had made or what made it so special back then. Especially after none of the sequels, and most certainly this "reboot", ever even coming close to capturing that magic again.
You need proper writers for one, and the main problem I'm seeing now is that leftism and their "woke and safe" faux wholesomeness is completely devoid of humor at all, leftists take the humanity and humor out of everything they touch.
Volition changed style since they were living in gta shadow, they went for a more goofy but fun gameplay instead of a good story and since they had the perfect characters it worked really good
This game however doesn't have perfect characters. While you can still feel some of the goofiness that made SR3 and especially SR4 unique, it's not the same since the characters are just walking trash cans trying to break bad
Not to mention the amount of glitches this game had, which can get fixed, of course, but it will make the game annoying
@@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum you bought politics to a video game discussion 💀💀💀
@@takumijager2372 The Saints Row reboot is literally "Shitty leftwing progressive entryism: The game".
"They" started it, acting like videogames haven't come under major assault from leftwing politics since 2014 is telling me that you're only pretending to be retarded.
the "16gb" patches are actually 50mb worth of fixes btw. Also the games physics are for some reason tied to your fps so if you play on a high end rig with 200+ fps consider your missions broken. You simply cannot complete certain ones because either enemies shoot too many bullets at once (your car ded) or for example in the monster truck mission the truck will be too fast and you always get crushed no matter what.
That's really shocking about the physics being tied to framerate, you'd thought they'd have learnt that from Idolninja's amazing work with Gentlemen of the Row.
At 60 fps, any missions that require you to haul cargo are significantly harder than if you play at 30
wow that's insane lmao, that's like game development 101!! you add projectiles, bullets etc etc to some sort of deltaTime so that its consistent across different specs....
I think the ending would've been miles better with Eli as the mastermind who tricks or manipulates Nahuatl into taking out the boss. Would've been a callback to both SR1 and San Andreas.
I also thought Eli would've been the evil mastermind, since what older Saints Row games taught us. Businessmen were always shady.
Tbh It probably would've helped saved the story if they chose like any other character to be the traitor like Eli, Nina, or Kevin. Either one would be quite surprising bc you wouldn't expect somehting so ballzy from those dorks
Nope, can't have a minority be a bad guy. Don't want to "punch down" or reinforce any stereotypes.

Having to drive across the entire map to save a car at the single rim jobs or the HQ is a chore
I don't find that an issue but then again I can see it being a bit much when you go down the same central highway 20 times

I think the issue is and this is coming from witnessing the reactions devs have made to criticism. They did not want to make a saints row game, they wanted to make something else and use the name brand recognition to get a head start.
Same as Agents of Mayhem to be fair. I don't know why I hoped that they could have made something decent - all that hope went out of the window at the Gamescom trailer but still.
Should’ve called it “Angels Column” and said it was a spin-off or a “spiritual successor”
It would still be trash, but far less insulting to SR fans.
Never thought that SR2 would still be standing at top this long
I’ve been a fan since the beginning and it’s sad to say this is the end unless someone buys the rights.
Volition and Deep silver don’t respect the first 2 games because most of the people working for them currently didn’t work on them.
This reboot should’ve been a semi realistic action game (with comedic moments) about a group of broke inner city youths starting a gang to take the city back from the current gangs terrorizing the city.
Instead we get crap like SR3-SR22. SR3 started the goofy tone, the stripped down city, activities from old games being used as missions, Inconsistent characters that don’t feel like gang members, etc. Every game since has progressively gotten away from what made this series, and now it’s unrecognizable.
R.I.P Saints Row
The people who made 2022 saints row didn’t want to make a sense for one or two like game because it will be offensive to people like come on volition listen to the majority of your fans not a small group of people
@@ConsumptiveSoul if you really think the fans of sr1 & sr2 is a small fan base compared to the sr3 and 4 crowd your fucking high asf stfu and stay in yo lane you guys like the worst games in the series period💯

All they would of had to do to stay afloat was make a 4K remaster of saints row 1&2 and all the SR2 dlc with updated textures/models/lighting/animations, and then put it on Xbox Series S/X, PS5, and PC. That alone would have sold like hotcakes and kept the studio afloat, and it would have reminded them what the series started as and what fans miss before they started a new game. Now we will probably never see a patched SR2 pc port because of this. I’m gonna be surprised if Volition doesn’t get dissolved.
i’d pay embarrassing money for a SR2 graphical update if that was possible, i mean 0 change to gameplay. even if it was the same graphics they could market it as a 90’s gangster game or some bs😅 it’s a shame, sr2 is easily a top 5 game of all time in my opinion.
That ending was pure gold.
Ending was only good because it glitched out so much that it was hilarious I've seen compilations of the dude either stretching out like Mr Fantastical flying across the screen with magic
@@Sammy_the_best_there_ever_was I think they're referring to the clip at the end of the video showing a modified SR2 cutscene. But that too is hilarious, I saw it floating around on the socials lol.
@@TheGravityShifter yes. That’s what I was talking about. Although the glitches in the ending was funny (even though I didn’t encounter it).
This is the BEST critique I have seen of the reboot you give props when needed and let us know what’s not like the other’s. Thanks man
I'm just so sad about what the series turned into. I got Saints Row The Third in early 2012, I enjoyed it but my copy also had a digital version of Saints Row 2.... needless to say, 2 blew my mind and is probably one of my all-time favourite games. 4's tone was weird but I still enjoyed it for what it was. With that game's ending, I was hoping a potential Saints Row 5 would be a sort of "reboot" involving time travel.... all these years later we get this. I always assumed that Deep Silver were like "make this more like Fortnite, the kids love that" you know, typical out of touch corporation BS but the way that Volition is acting towards valid criticism is EMBARRASSING.
I'm also so sad that we are never going to get that Saints Row 2 patch for PC. Knowing that IdolNinja was working so hard on it as he was literally dying is heartbreaking.
Hearing that there’s no cheats broke my heart, that was some of the most fun i got out of the old games, I really hope they add them back, Hopfully not as dlc though
You know they're going to add them as DLC you know the reaper was going to fail you knew the reboot you even knew the story was going to suck trust me what I'm saying they're going to sell you those cheat codes they even said most of the DLC is just cut content
With many saying the city isn't very populated, I'd wanna use the riot cheat. : (
To refresh your memory, Saints Row 3 has DLC cheats codes, particularly God Mode.
@@Gopnikawa DLC?
As I recall, it's already in the game, as character damage resistance upgrades (the 4th upgrade for every type of damage will grant you invincible to it).
@@Supervideo1491 This doesn’t make you truly invincible tho. You can still die from damage sources other than bullets, fall, fire, melee and explosives.
I am talking about Invincible Pack. God Mode from it actually makes sure you will never die. You also have a handful of other cheats like Car Mass Hole, Super Saints, Pratfalls etc.
I really hope this game's reception doesn't affect the development of that fixed SR2 PC port. I know they gave a "solemn vow" to IdolNinja that it'd get finished, but I trust Deep Silver about as far as I can throw them, so I'm concerned that they might direct Volition's resources away from it thanks to this flop.
The dev clearly don't like their fanbase why in heck fixed ported of a game
@@sodalangstson9438 A while back Volition found the SR2 source code, which was believed to be lost. After that, IdolNinja and a few other devs started work on a patch for SR2 that would fix the issues the PC port was notorious for.
Before IdolNinja died, Volition and Deep Silver gave him a "solemn vow", in his words, that they would finish up the patch after he was gone. The question at hand, here, is do I trust a studio like Deep Silver to honour a promise they made to a dying man? Not really, but it's not an impossibility, for sure. Heck, the negative reception may even encourage them to divert MORE resources towards it so they can salvage some good PR out of this mess. Who knows?
I'm convinced they soft-cancelled it. Ever since the way they've responded to criticism, I took their little vow and tossed it. They don't give a damn.
it wouldn't shock me if the games failure could cost us the patch. SR2 is a legendary game that could definitely be optimized better for modern hardware, and now it could be thrown away....
@@Square_Rabbit There are definitely people working at Volition who cared about IdolNinja and would fight to have that patch finished. At the same time there's basically no one from the devs of SR1, 2, Red Faction still working at Volition and that probably care about Saints Row as a brand (as this reboot shows). From that alone I doubt it'd get finished. Then you have to consider the amount of layoffs after Agents of Mayhem and that Volition are likely in a worse position financially now after 5 years of development spent on this reboot. I really don't think it'll get finished and that's really horrible to say.
I actually lost patience and set "enemy durability" to 0 cuz, you know, I wanted headshots to actually be HEADSHOTS, but even then, headshots from "weaker" weapons still don't kill the mfs 😔
Like, if a headshot doesn't kill the enemy, it's not satisfying or rewarding at all :V
I just can’t believe that they didn’t put cheats in this game . We need a money cheat if nothing else.
@@GeteMachine HAHAHA that’s funny. U made me laugh. I still say the game needs cheats
Yeah they put money cheat in there then it will be a lot more fun because you can buy properties instead of doing the same thing over and over and over again for them
I love using cheats first to get a feel for the game and to enjoy the world, then challenge myself with the campaign and higher difficulties
i just realized from your video that this game was made by NPCs obviously the main characters feel like NPCs
When you said that it's a mix between sr3 and sunset overdrive, that is exactly what I told people about it.
Essentially this was just sunset overdrive 2 without being able to ride rails and shit.
Thanks for the honest review. There is fun to be had but there is a lot of room for improvement. There’s always hope with the dlcs
If it's a mixed bag, I would go further and say it's a "swag bag". You know, those things you get at conventions where on first glance it seems like there's some serviceable stuff, then later you start to think someone just handed you their garbage to throw away...
I thought the same thing! The main characters are people the previous games would have trashed on!
Was not expecting that ending. That was the cherry on top of this great review.
bro, i'm so sorry. i've been following you for years now and when they announced this game, i wasn't excited for me, i was excited for YOU. and seeing what they did to the franchise? and how their biggest fan got so let down? it's just pissed me off so much. i hope they can learn from this. their most dedicated fans like yourself deserve another good SR game.
Been watching your channel for years, and it's sad that after years of waiting, you get THIS. Must feel pretty bad. Keep making awesome videos my brotha.
The more I see of this game anything that is actually good gets immediately ruined The Professional said it the best it's like if twitters users started a gang, the open world is Pratically dead I have barely seen any npcs in the game, and the customization is a banger but I would honestly rather play watch dogs 2 for the third time instead at least the game is fun and the characters are likeable
I remember Pro saying that, I think it was his latest episode right? Many A True Nerd's video had a similar-ish conclusion. What he doesn't like about the game is how unfinished it is and how there's older games at cheaper price today that do it better. How GTA V's open world is still leagues ahead of most open worlds like it is truly embarrassing. I think the latest game you could say does open world in a GTA like style good is Sleeping Dogs (Watchdogs 2 as well if you consider its unique approach to it).
The only thing they could possibly do now without pissing off a lot of people or losing money, is just to remaster 1 and 2.
I wish they remade it to fix the very dated and wonky gamelay though. At least keep what SR3 did for the gunplay, physics and animations.
I can’t tell you how good it feels to see him come to his senses lol
You always deliver man. Fair and professional take.
I'd give it a solid 5. I wrote up all my gripes in a bulletin because they started getting out of hand. There's much cringe to be had, but my issues lie mostly with the gameplay. Things big and small are missing, dumbed down, or just plain illogical.
A minor complaint that claims the dev laziness is how some of these weapons function. You take a pickaxe, skin it with an overgrown Highlander sword, and you *_grip and swing it by the freakin blade._* The Saintsblade is even worse. You swing it flat and there's massive hand clipping. Don't add stuff if you're not gonna do it logically!
Oh, and no 80's pop station... The synthwave is nice, but where's all my singalongs?!
But I'll say there's some fun to be had. Honestly the car customization this time around is the strongest in the series by far. Music is hit or miss, but generally enjoyable. Character customization on the surface is depthful, but weighed down by mostly bland clothing selection. The side hustles are... far more entertaining and engaging than the firefights and chases that almost solely structure the story missions.
I'm making this too long, but overall I think I'm on the same page as you. I'm glad the leading authority on the series is telling it like it is.
Hopefully this dev roadmap ::cough::CYBERPUNK::cough:: can make the game a bit more sellable.
Edit: WAY too much grind. Seriously. So much fun that simply came your way during the previous games has to be unlocked from completing laser-focused challenges, scouring the map, or purchased for insane amounts of money (at least until you have strong ventures.)
So from what i've learned is that this game is that one game you play, finish and never open it again.
i’ve been waiting for your review. glad to see you’re honest and open about how you truly feel about the game - unlike certain people in the fandom. 👀 it’s unfortunate to see where the series has gone, but i’m the least bit surprised. SR2 is peak and always will be. great video as always, and i honestly can’t wait until that NDA lifts… 👀
A mixed bag. Yep. A mix of razor blades, termites, and dog feces
12:08 Aww, im so glad you included my amazing performance as the singing bush . ( If you didn't watch rpgs stream, you wont understand it)
Imagine a story DLC where you play as another gang named the Saints who’s like “wtf? We’re the saints, not them?” So you take over the new saints’s stuff. Except the characters are likeable and the dlc brings in good features idk
My first experience with SR was IV, and recently I decided on whether or not my first true experience with SR was this or SR3 remastered (I played on PS5 and had the lowest PS Plus tier, so I couldn’t play SR2), and after a few days I decided to get The Third. I’m glad I spent that money on a good game
The sighs, I felt that in my soul. As a honest fan. From 1 to AoM... I just pulled what I needed for fan writing.... then I just go back to write.
The thing that gets me most is this game had a chance that will never come again. Gaming is kinda dry right now, gta is years away. They could have made a beast of a game and dethroned gta(atleast temporarily) and made hundreds of millions. All you had to do is follow the damn fans volition!
I have been having a blast playing saints row 3 for the first time, it still got that saints row original vibe steelport I like the vibe of that too
And Neenah always has her shoes on the couch
Like what you mentioned in response to the first trailer, that sadly might be apparent
"There is a lot of angry people and if this game doesn't sell well this might be it for the company."
Very good review Mr Saints! I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention the music stations though. Also small question do you know where to find striped clothes? I've met many pedestrians wearing some but never found any store with any of those...
I've only had in total 4 issues that were major while in singleplayer, 2 were major the other 2 were nothing to worry about
1) One of the threats softlocking because the police van became immune, I fixed this by leaving the area
2) I accidentally put a helmet on and was unable to remove it or even change anything else, I fixed this by saving then reloading
3) During one of the ventures my game got into an infinite loadscreen right at the end forcing me to redo the whole thing
4) My game outright crashed on another ventrue when I failed it
Now there was one oversight I did see that was actually good, So some vehicles in this game have super wide "Wheel covers" but even if you max out the tyre width you are unable to fill the space BUT if you got to which ever has the highest (Typically the rear axle) then toggle the slider to allow the adjustment of both you can extend the tyre width.
Adjust for the shortest then toggle the option back off and make the changes to the axle you previously selected and BAM less stupid looking fenders
Some of the points are exactly my thoughts. Thank you.
The combined emotes are some of the greatest things I've seen in a while.
a couple things saintsgodzilla: i'm glad you were honest how horrible some of the things in this game were, but also pointing out (albeit few) the good things as well. another thing, please don't ever compare this game to sunset overdrive ever again lmao. sure SO is over the top, but at least it's aware of itself and i actually laughed at parts in the game. this game's writing just looks total cringe.
Honestly, im happy you were honest with this game. As a saints row fan, this broke me and so many other fans who were hoping to be proven wrong but sadly, we were right. This game is an atrocious abomination of a saints row game. In my opinion, i don't trust volition... AT ALL. We have given them plenty of opportunities to better themselves and they kept f"ing it up. Its so hard to be a saints row fan when this what the developers are putting out. And don't even get me started on the horrid twitter drama, cgi drama and the discord drama we got from them. And now they are even attacking the fans again for even voicing their criticisms again. In my opinion, id want volition to sell the saints row ip to a studio like Hanger 13 or remedy, heck, even rocksteady for that matter.
Even if saints row is gone ( god i hope that doesnt happen) , I'll still be here to watch your guy's content. Once a saint always a saint. Thank you godzilla for this amazing video. You're a true 3rd street saint.
Edit: I am so loving your new thumbnail.
Anywhere but Hangar 13 dude. Mafia 3 was so repetitive and had no interactive things to do
that ending cinematic was legendarily funny, thank you 🙏
This summed up my thoughts pretty much exactly. Also, can we expect a video detailing all the easter eggs ? (at least the one's found right now)
For a not scripted video this came out pretty well and that endings was well done.
Was so looking forward to this video. I had more excitment for this video then i did for this game. What a sad day to be a saint today.
With your word out now giving that your the quintessential Saints Row guy, hopefully some people will stop being in denial about the game or just accept that the game isn't good. I get it there's fun to be had sure and down the line the game will be polished and expansions will be added and there are positives; but sometimes it feels that the game gets blind toxic positivity by the minority that think this is the best SR game.
If people don't react now with you giving out your honest opinion then Volition might keep up this up. Saints Row is in real trouble now.
As a child SR3 was fun to be had but they really squeezed the charm outta the game by trying to force it down your throat, SR2/SR never pushed a “be wacky” play style the main story was pretty straight up & to the point gangster theme, but the side activities which really weren’t optional were & that’s what made the game so great
6:37 I hate that you can't customize the takedowns. It should be an obvious setting, especially because there is such a variety of takedown animations.
I almost always get the same few goofy takedowns and it's getting on my nerves because they just don't fit my character
I think that score is fair. I expected lower tbh. Truly is heartbreaking to see a beloved series treated this way.
I've dealt with this sort of thing go down before with the Dead Rising franchise, people loved 1-OTR or 3 if we're lucky; then the fourth game bombed hard and made the franchise go away for good.
@@Kola25_97 Sry I was 9 months late to this lol. Ig I never had a notification. Saints row was the first game I ever remember playing I grew up with it and this is just sad this all could have been avoided if they just listened to fans or “haters”
Other then ACG, this was one of three reviews I was waiting for. Now if only The Professional would weigh in, I would have my trilogy. I wish MRSG21 would have gotten the game he was hoping for. SR 1 and SR 2 were made by those who were trying to make a good criminal game with great skill in game development.
SR 3, 4, and Gat out of hell were made by those who barely played SR 1 and 2 or just watched some marketing trailers and gameplay cutscenes but still have some skill in making game development.
Saints Row 2022 was made by those who knew the Saints were purple.
The outro is sad but damn true RIP Volition
The tragic downpour of Volition.
So the "haters" were right. Of course.
Now Volition should go back and make Saints Row 5 with the original cast. Or maybe just stop making games.
Well not the utterly dismantling review I was expecting...But you did make it seem like there was hope which I wish were true.
from what i heard in skill up's video volition didnt introduce the main characters properly too theyre just there with you from the start trying to make you care about them but you the player dont know them the boss does
The reason I'm pissed off is because Volition used to listen to the fans and put care into their games.
Even Saints Row 3. They did listen to what they thought the fans wanted.
And I bet if thq didn't rush another game out the door (saints row 4) then we could've got the best Saints row game ever.
But 10 years later, we get this. A reboot that was made by a different team from what I can tell.
Where's the care?
They never actually listened to their fans. Thy just didn't reject them as much asthey do noe. The only people they listen to are game journalists who don't like the game being M-rated, wanted everything they complained about SRTT doing, and revised it for their sentiments, then the game sucks and even they don't like it. Let alone getting a director who thought his ideas were better than the older game's set up, and didnt care about what fans say.
honestly they should’ve just rebooted the series with like the sr2 cast and tried to get good writers or the same sr2 writers
Had a couple glitches like the one where you have to escape the gang hideout and protect neena while she fixes the car, except she didn’t move and the timer ran out
Hoping we get a video on what you saw at Volition once the NDA lifts next year.
Welp. It's official. Saints Row, as a franchise, is dead. It's honestly pretty sad.
It was already dead with 4.
Some say 3 but they still could've salvaged the series after 3.. but not after 4 hence the reboot.
Saints Row died after 2, 3 and 4 weren't bad games tro they just weren't saints row games
@@theobell2002 Gat out of Hell had an ending that teased an alternate universe where I thought this reboot was going to be. When I found out it wasn't, I was disappointed. My last hope was for this reboot to be great.
At least that way, it would've ended on a positive note if this was the last game in the franchise. But sadly, that isn't the case considering how negatively received this game was. Which usually means no more Saints Row games in the future.
RIP Saints Row.
I hope they'll release that SR2 pc patch after this mess (if it's finished of course)
Thank you for your service
We waited for so long
From the same guy who praised the reboot and told fans to stay positive.
Imagine.
Bruh, shut the fuck up. He played a GOOD build before this piece of shit came out, don’t attack him for something he said MONTHS ago. This community is so fucking aids i swear to god.
Reminding me of 90% of halo youtubers for months before & after infinite's release
I feel like the only way this can be redeemed is a sequel that's first trailer opens with the original Saints killing these characters off accidentally during the course of a mission they're on. Wipe this slate clean and make a statement that they realised how bad of a misstep this truly was...
On the bright side your almost at 100k subs
This is a great review
The series has been dead for years, this game's quality, or the lack of it, doesn't mean a thing for the original fans.
Even though they gave us some pretty good games in the past, it's time for Volition to be shut down. They choose this path years ago and now they will pay the price.
Know your audience.
Twitter fad followers won't buy your game.
No replayable missions & NO CHEATS is what will keep me away from this game.
This reboot made me appreciate Saints Row 3 a lot more.
So on the radio tower venture you were supposed to call the gang on the phone to taunt them. One of my buddies had that issue he was trying to find them on the map too lol.
10:34 you also forget to mention , that because you can access the clothing through your phone and its the only way you can customize it, this makes the interiors for the stores as well the stores to lose its sense of purpose in the world as soon as you buy everything. It really hurts the immersion of santo ileso and makes the clothing stores feel useless. In my honest opinion, i feel like there should be a downgrade in this customization through the phone feature to only be used for your body customization and not for your clothing. Let the wardrobe and the clothing stores be the only places where you can customize the clothing pieces.
🙏🫂pray for the saints row community🫂🙏
Oh hey it's you
