Damn, you‘ve got so many amps Dave. I love that you‘re such an allrounder, Solid State, Valve, Boss Katana, you‘ve got them all. I recently started to get interested in small tube amps and I‘m gonna get one today! :D Great video.
Haven't even watched this yet but already shaking with anticipation, been waiting for this one. Busy dog-walking and cleaning kennels at the rescue centre today, but this will be the highlight for my Saturday night in! Can't wait!
I play the Sub Zero 35RG everyday like you.. takes pedals really well always have the bass off... Dark sounding amp.. for me it's the reverb that makes it. Got this amp on your recommendation and your review when you bought the squire bullet and the Sub Zero that review was and still is spot on just love it thanks Mr S!☺
The way you talk about your Ibanez Tube Screamer Amp is the way I felt about my Fender Pro Jr. I LOVED the look of it but I barely played through it, so I returned it to the store I bought it from. One of the best clean tones I've ever heard.
Damn, your intro are amazing. I would spend a year trying to learn one and you just drop a new amazing jam every week! Hope I can learn 1/10th of your amazing skill Dave! Keep on what you do, love from Sweden!
Really awesome watch and a great collection. Only problem is I decided to take a shot every time you said “immense” and now I may need to go to the hospital 😂
Your collection of amps and cabinets is wonderful, or better to say, excellent. Great collection of sound! I am delighted with your collection and your creativity! And from the smallest too 🤭. If possible, please show me your collection of guitar lotions. 👍👍👍🤝🤝👋
Righteous collection! LOL had to laugh about the Marshall MG. I got the same MG/angled cab in 04 and will never forget the whirring of the fan. Fun times!
man!! do I' love that Strat!!!! I'm very envious of that one! and nice taste use of the whammy octave late near the end of the intro jam. Killing it again Mr.
I bought a Boss Katana 50W after watching your videos for a year or so and it was the best purchase I think I've ever made. Funnily enough, it was to replace my first amp, also a Peavey Rage 158! If we could get a record of all your intro jams that would be likely the best selling album of all time. Keep those good sounds coming.
I have the Monoprice (USA version) of the Harley Benton Tube 15. It has EL84 Power Tubes. Run it through some different speakers and it is an incredible sounding amp! Don't give up on it Dave!
Wow! Well that was worth the wait. Brilliant to watch you giving it welly on the playing run in and you being all bright and fizzy throughout - great to see. Great overview of the amps and cabs and their history and meaning to you. Also like all your videos like this as they make me hunt out and look forward to seeing you cover specific gear. My personal favourite? The gorgeous 100 stalk Celery head in two-tone-blue ha ha. Thanks Dave. Oh, if the mighty CR120 turns terminal, you can have mine.
Good move on the Plexi - you know you can never have too many of them :-) . Looks like the very thought of talking amps brought out the guitar god (or is that beast ?) in you. That Oswald sure took a beating - but that was what Nick made it for lol. The loss of pristine finish is our gain when you produce intro jams of that quality . Let's hope Orange supercharge the 120 :-) .
Great opening jam Shoeless. I have a couple dozen amps myself. Several small tube amps from the 70s and 80s, a couple hybrids and many solid state amps. I find myself running out of room for them all 😁
Beautiful jam. I just wanted to say how much I love that you truly like every amp you have and you’re able to say a good word about every each of them (well, besides this little fender toy). And I know you’re being honest about it because I know that you can take the best there is out of each of them,
Mr. Dave... you've done it again... my mind is currently out for repairs. You've blown it again, my dear friend. Glad to see you are well (and once again bearded, as a fine fellow such as yourself ought to be!) Much love, my axe-weilding brother!
Nice one Dave regarding the 'immense-ness' of your (now) 212 Orange and Marshall cabs. It appears that you've accidently stumbled across the work of Kevin O'Connor and his theory of Detuned Cabinets. Very interesting reading for the guitar nerd, so much so that I built my own Detuned Cabinet once and it sounded huge also. Basically, by removing half of the speakers and leaving the holes open, you're getting the bassy sound from the back of the speakers coming out the front of the cab. Enjoy!!

I was for many years a hungry and starving artist, a fresco painter and portrait painter. I ended up earning my living after age 36 as a mechanical engineer. Recently at age 69 I and my wife purchased our first home-after so many years-we did it! Well, I have my art and music studio in my living room-because that's how I roll! very fun video...made me feel like a kid again. I wish I would have hung on to my amps like you did. I also wish I saw these videos when I was a kid in the 80s/90s, it would have saved me ALOT of money not buying tube amps. If your young viewers are smart, they will buy solid state amps imo. I guess if your rich it doesnt matter, lol.
Hi Dave.,mate. Lovely opening jam - AGAIN.That ''weird-synth'' vibe reared it's head again at 5:23??? A very proud owner of an amazing collection of amps,is happening here! I've got an ol' 2x12 Organ/Bass/Guitar "Londoner'' amp with H&H speakers in it & a CRAZY reverb!!! The guy that sold it to me said it is ex-Wilko Johnson????? Any info is gratefully received... Keep it up Dave,m'man. :) X p.s. I was wondering if you have checked-out Chis Bucks Friday Fretworks stuff?
hello, good morning, good afternoon and a very good evening to YOU, the good and wonderful people of THE TUBE, hope you're well today, hope you're feeling grand and all is well in your world...hello everybody
Dave, if you could only have one amp, and on a budget, what would it be? From what I've seen most people recommend a Boss Katana 50 if you just play at home and if you're on a budget because it sound very good and has all the effects you need. I'm still a beginner and have a crappy little 50$ amp that has maybe 1 good tone so I'm looking for something versatile on a budget. Great video as always. Much love Dave :)
Got a 50 katana. And you can run with your android. Just gotta buy a couple cables. All the guitar patches you'll need. Like $9 cnd for app. Anyway yes amp kicks ass.
The Harley Benton Tube 15 (Monoprice 15 watt) has two EL84s ,not 6V6 ,(and 3 ECC83 for preamplification) i find it closer to the Marshall's sound than the Fender's one ,it should sound somewhere between your Fender Pro Junior and the Blues Junior ,but it might as well knock them out , there is some videos here on UA-cam of some painfull shootouts for Fender ,the Blues Junior vs the Tube 15 ... I'm not a connoisseur but i find the Blackstar amps very good and better than the Marshalls ,with the same kind of sound ,i guess that you don't like Blackstars ; anyway you are equipped .... The engineers at Blackstar come from Marshall's .... Personally l like the 6V6 sound a lot , perfect for a Strat , now that depends on the tastes of course ....Thanks for the video Dave , that is why i asked you to make a video of the Fender Blues Junior vs the Harley Benton Tube 15 while you were in France at your friends , because here on youtube it's a 650e amp litteraly KOed by a 240e one ... The El84s are maybe more versatile by the way ,they can sound as well with any pick ups , the 6V6 are more for the single coils niche ,including P90's ....
I gotta ask what happened to the Orange CCR 120 that it needed repairs because my own Orange CR 120 blew up a cap in the pre amp section that I replaced myself and it's working great as ever now but I just wanted to know if it was the same thing !?😉

Many different guitars from Tele, Strat, Jazz box, semi hollowbody and solid bodies. Three Ampeg bass amps and two cabs. I play a lot and do not think of fame or fortune, only fun. Soon very soon I shall once again experience the Marshall JTM45.

If anyone knows of a Church that wants Fresco paintings of Bible Stories painted on it's walls please let me know. That's my real calling and I shall not charge and shall provide my own materials transportation. I do not want to die without ever being the real me so I am so wanting to paint these wall murals.
I still keep my drafting board in the living room as well. I'm retired but it's part of me. It allowed me to work side jobs and pay for my children's diapers 35 years ago.
H Dave Another Gem to inform and guide and make me think like never before.
I'm now, this Sunday morning organising my collection of Dave Simpson vids. It's called
'Total D. S. Encyclopedia on guitars. ❤.
Ps used to go every year to your neck of the woods for our hols. Cleethorpes ❤❤
Great Intro !
Should actually become one of the Top 5 Dance-Hits in 2021 Worldwide !
Is the Backing Track "F - G# - C - Bb" ?
Is that the Shroud of Turin on the lower part of the wall to the right of the Carlsbro and Katana 50? (starting around 7:18)
😂
I'm very much looking forward to hearing more from the Nextone Special.
Just excellent Dave!
Dave, you need to get a Marshall Logo for the old red cab you restored..would look a lot better.
Nuvver li' UA-cam gem 4 ya. Les Paul with Slash. Priceless! I'm gonna bugger-awf now..
very fun video...made me feel like a kid again.
Thank you for watching. :)
Wonderful collection!! 🤗🤗And wonderful intro! 👌
Thank you my dear. :)
Awesome video Dave hope all is well.
Been wondering about this one for a while. Awesome stuff
Hi Dave I also own an orange, orange cr120...love it to bits , what's broken on yours if you don't mind me asking.
Keep the faith buddy...👍
what does he say after good evening to u ? 6:48
hello, good morning, good afternoon and a very good evening to YOU, the good and wonderful people of THE TUBE, hope you're well today, hope you're feeling grand and all is well in your world...hello everybody
lovely .....A jam for the masses .....
That Oswald guitar is sexy love the colour scheme
Massively Epic Intro !
Katana is a definite. It does it all.
Got a 50 katana. And you can run with your android. Just gotta buy a couple cables. All the guitar patches you'll need. Like $9 cnd for app. Anyway yes amp kicks ass.
Thanks yet again Dave 👍
You mentioned the Peavey Rage, did I miss the Bandit? That’s what got me watching your channel years ago. Still love mine.
I sold my bandit about four years ago.
@@thedavesimpson Haha, right after you posted the videos with it. Great collection, man! Keep up the god work.
Lovely amps man! 🙌
😁😁😁😁 Great intro Dave really tasty gravy, a grill way to start the weekend
Dave, why you not in France now mate? Not meaning to be nosy...! Thought there was gigging opportunities down there?
Brexit
@@thedavesimpson Ah! Bloody politics!
Where's the Fender Champion 100?
Ok cool, but have you daisy chained them all together? Now that would be immense
Video about that on its way. Sadly its not all of them.
@@thedavesimpson That will be unreal, and freakin awesome!
incredible intro, star!
Mine blew the speaker out.
@@thedavesimpson that's not bad and easy to do with that 120 Orange 😉I dammed near blew up 2 different Celestion speakers with that amp so only 412 cabinets from now on with the big boys !😂👍
hey dave wo your a guy after my own heart i had no clue you used all solidstate gear ...so do i all my amps are solidstate ...peavey's (first edition silver stripe series ) studio an bass amp late g series yamaha brown face 50 an 100 watt ..randall 40 , an 80 watt , Dean 15 watt ..an Dean dm80 (twin princeton clone) an a roland 5 watt micro ...cube last year sold my JC120 when needed maoney .....an like yourself a pletera of cabs...i also had the 158 rage when i started with the peavey raptor guitar given to me by a friend ...i started on valve amps an still would love a vintage valve amp but i cant afford the maintanace on a valve amp...i am thinking of buying the 15 supro that just was released ....your proof the tone is in your hands an not in a TUBE!!!...nice vid dave
If I take a drink every time you say it sounds immense. I will die from alcohol poisoning
Don't do it then. ;)
I’ve been sober for 10 years ;)
U think with your pedal board u can get that peavy rage to sound comparable to your katana
Kind of but not quite
I got a rage and I'm just 8months in from learning to play and trying to decide if i would be better off getting a pedal board put together and use the rage for now or get a katana and save up for pedals after , what would u do
Immense video! And I’m only 7mins in 🤣
