It's been SO windy in London lately! I took the RX Super Spider to the beach the other day, and flew in around 30 mph winds. The lines were ringing, and the Rev's sail and frame distorted far more than I'd seen before - but it still handled it. Conditions are predicted to be similar this Sunday, so I'm heading down to the Brighton kite festival. First one I've been to since the early '90s! :D

Wow Revbox! Those are pretty extreme conditions! Think about what would be the perfect strategy, skill set, or pattern to fly in these conditions! Flying on the edge of the window? Slow-motion skills (Slow-motion spins, slow-mo 'tumbleweed', etc.)? It would be interesting to see what you come up with!

I have a question - I'm buying the ORAO 4-line kite QUADIUM 900 - it has a line of 30 meters - how short can I cut it (10 - 12 or 15 meters) 30 meters is probably too long

Consider getting a Revolution Quadline for better customer support. Here's a 'line- length' video to help you out:

Explode a graphite rod from accelerating too fast? Did you mean to say that?

Sorry Sailmirage. The proper terminology would be 'catastrophic failure'. Unlike aluminum or steel tubing, graphite 'fractures' in failure, quickly releasing it's stored energy. This 'stored energy' is considerably higher than wood or aluminum due to graphite's high 'elastic modulus'. It's not a stick of dynamite, but the failure mode is instantaneous and quite loud.
