Novara is an Italian town of about 100.000 inhabitants, the capital of the province of the same name in Piedmont, the second largest city in the Region by number of inhabitants after Turin.
It is a crossroads of important commercial traffic between the road axes that connect the Turin-Milan-Genoa industrial triangle to Switzerland as well as an important industrial and commercial center, favored by its strategic position.
The city's symbol is the dome of the Basilica of San Gaudenzio by Alessandro Antonelli.
The University of Eastern Piedmont is located in Novara, a tripolar structure shared with Alessandria and Vercelli.
