You always manage to surprise me. I've just been to Finland for the first time and a few days ago, unsuspectingly, I was sitting in one of your brother's buildings drinking coffee, buying books and admiring the beautiful architecture... As always, a super exciting video and great pictures!

It was only 7C but my dry suit kept me warm on that sunny spring afternoon. 📷🇫🇮⛵️🇨🇦🌞 PS: I enjoy taking those long exposure photos with ND filters too! This reminds me that I need to drive 600 km’s out to the Atlantic ocean one of these days soon!
BTW, the ND numbers are actually powers of two: ND1024 = 2^10 = 10 stops, ND64 = 2^6 = 6 stops, ND8 = 2^3 = 3 stops, ND4 = 2^2 = 2 stops. I admit that this is a bit nerdy but if you're into computer logic then this makes sense. This also makes the calculation very simple:: Use your fingers to count the stops and double the time for every step.
The rain broke this afternoon and as the clouds lifted off of the green hills in those few 10's of minutes of perfect light and dripping wet Oak and Eucalyptus . . it hit me . . . .and I wanted to know - HOW did Ari do it????? I think I have a pretty steady hand and will shoot 1/30th off hand - no problem. . . . .. with an ounce of luck maybe 1/15 but 15 seconds ?????!!! Did you break down and schlepp a tripod or was it just a fortuitous park bench or a perfectly flat rock????? - - HOW did you do it??????
On your Fomapan film...Do you see those white dots everywhere? You need to pre-wash the film at either 20 or more Celsius, for around 10 to 15 minutes... that's the anti-halation die that did not got properly washed away.... Do a LONG PREWASH to remove it completely :)
Yes. I noticed. There is also a way to fix them afterwards. I contacted Foma about them and complained. It really is not acceptable. Now that the dots are there, what you can do is: “You can save your negatives using bath in ethanol (50-70%) for 45 min. with mild movement.” The thing is: Foma said it was one batch of 120 film affected. And sent me replacement films. But these are from those replacements 😅

Either to do 5 or 6 quick washes with warm water until the water comes out the same colour as it got in , or 2 or 3 long baths having a total of around 15 to 20 minutes in water at around 20'c. For me that does the trick :)... But it's a pain in the neck to add these times to all the development process...
Courtney Victoria talked about photographing alone recently. This was my response on her "The Lonely Photographer" post: "I am an extrovert and love to be around people, except when I am doing photography. The main exception is if the other people are photographers. Non photographers will run out of patience when you are setting up a macro shot. They will bring the dog along when you are trying to photograph wildlife. They will get annoyed when you are trying to frame something just right. And none of that is their fault. They're just not photographers. Now, if the purpose of the outing is a hike and I happen to have my camera with me, that is different. I am hiking with the occasional photograph. I do have an evil trick to equalize the situation. I give camera outfits to people that I love and turn them into photographers. Most of the time it works, too. Today my siblings, friends, nephews, nieces and other relatives are (for the large part) photographers. Some were already into the passion of photography before me, and it spreads like mad. So everybody gets it when someone wants to stop the car, get out, and take some pictures of something that caught their eye." I think the seascapes were lovely, especially the minimalist ones. My Rolleiflex isn't as fast as yours, but the TLR experience is definitely special even with a lesser camera. I think I use my Mamiya TLR more because it can also do macro. I think it would be nice if there was a reciprocity database with every film in it. Then it would be simple to write an app to calculate exact exposures. I am not surprised that your brother is talented. You have renaissance blood and it probably runs in the family. There is often (in such cases) an important environmental factor such as emphasis of education.
I have adapted something similar for ND filters on the Mamiya C220. You come from a creative family. I disagree with your assessment of the yellow boots. You are are fashion statement!
