Very touching interview.
I was in the Michigan state finals with Cris. I was at 95 pounds wait class. Both of us was ceded first, Unfortunately we both took second and both lost by a point. I do believe he loss to Ben Lewis from Fenton Mi. I was on edge of that mat. Ben got a point for escaping Chris. Ben did get a stalling call on him but It wasn’t enough. It was loud in the building. I was from Flint Hamady . RIP Chris. You deserve being in the wrestling hall of fame. I proud to be associated with you.
I remember him at Muskegon Community College, where he won a National Heavyweight Championship and helped the Muskegon Jay Hawks win a team National Championship.
My brother is a long-time Chris Taylor fan. So I sent him this video. He enjoyed viewing this so much.
So happy for him. Well deserved.
Wilfried actually was pinned by Chris, as the throw of Chris caused Wilfried to be unable to arch is neck, which is required in that throw or you get yourself touch pinned. The refs were out of position to see it. Then, Wilfried touch pinned Chris when ref saw it. Watch the video closely. You'll see. So, in reality, Taylor won that day.
Great interview. Really lets people see how great Chris was as an athlete and person.

The throw that was supposed to be the greatest ever where the German tossed Taylor diedrich technically pinned himself according to sources he was 6 inches into the mat as he landed on his back
