Wonderful gift idea for elderly that don't get out much. They can stay in touch with family and the cards are ready for them to select and send. Love it!
I love watching you . you make it so easy to follow along with instructions easy & understand, some expect you already know what's going on or understand and Flys through making your jaw hit the floor and your head spinning 360 degrees, You have no problem with boo boo's at least we all can learned a lesson in what not to do. lol. and you have the great sense of humor it's nice to smile while glueing yourself to your project!! keep on keeping on MAYMAY!
This is lovely May May. I'm going to make one for a friend who wanted to put the cards she received after her mum passed away in something she could have on display. We've been puzzling how to do it for 3 years now-you have provided the solution today!!! Thank you!!!
MayMay it’s 12:45 pm, going go out now. I ❤️ this it’s adorable want to make one for a Aunty at church she does cards for everyone for birthdays and things that lifts us up smiles
My goodness! Lady, you are GOOD! I love this book and the cover is just so warm and lovely! You are going to make someone very happy with this gift! Thanks for sharing with us.
Judy Garner Thank you so much, I can't tell you how much I am enjoying all the goodies you sent me. Next week I am making a recipe book out of the recipe themed paper you sent. I can't wait to make it! I will film it.
This is beautiful. You sure have a great sense of design! Whoever gets this is one lucky girl! She's going To LOVE IT.....thanks again for all the hard work it took to make this video for us......(love the long ones! Lol) have a great day! Smiles! Becca
I love this! If I made one as it got so full so quickly I think I would forget about the cinch and use big book rings or punch holes and thread ribbon lace etc through so it's adaptable. I would also put a tie of some kind on the opening side to hold it closed. I would make the pockets bigger for each month, more like the cover ones but maybe even deeper. Also christmas needs more pages for family. Lastly, I agree with the same as others, I would add a space to list people's dates on each month page. ☺
I used to bind things when I worked at Staples in the Copy Center. So super easy. And not to expensive if you have a Staples nearby. I love this project and now I need to get some mat board! :)
I just made a card keeper too Amy! Only mine is an 8 1/2 x 11 size and I bound mine with my Cinch too. It was fun to make and I am hoping it will keep me organized to getting my cards out in a timely fashion. lol I did learn something new about the Cinch, and that was how you used the center feature. Loved that!
I was looking for a thank you gift. This is ideal. I don't have a scoring board, or an exacto knife (sp?), I only have a small cheap paper cutter, but I'm going to try it anyway!! Craft goods are SOOOO expensive in South Africa, we don't have the cheap dollar stores (or Rand stores..) so I'll see what I can do. Thank you for a very good tutorial.
I actually used to have one of these and had kept it in mind, and I was using the G45 Time to Flourish to make an organizer for my bills this year. I guess great minds!! Anyway, this is a amazing gift, I think anyone would love to get one! And I still have time to put some together. Thanks for sharing, Love it...Hugs...Bobbie
I know I have told you this before, and I'm sure you know, but I want to say thank you for explaining everything as you go along. You not only tell us what to do, but why we are doing it. That explanation makes it so much easier to understand and follow. I, too, have a cinch that was a 'must have' purchase at the time, but I have only used it once. This is a wonderful gift I could make for my friend back home in England. She will love it! Thank you - Julie
This is great❣️The perfect way to preserve cards without damaging them. Thank you especially for the clear explanation, as well as your tips and solutions in each step. Extremely helpful and inspiring for endless projects!
Just got my scrapping room after 5 kids flew the nest (2 left), I been loving watching you, had to make a run to crafts direct to get some supplies, I thought I would let you know I made this with different binding of course, I don't have a fancy machine. BUT I made an opps, hint to others when punching holes for the book make sure you have the paper in the right way...lol three of my pages have the holes on the fold. oh well, its just paper ....right?
Love, love, love this tutorial. It look like so much fun. It was a great time to relax with coffee and just listen. Thank you for sharing and teaching! Have a great week!
I expanded on this and added a sheet of cardstock with the month as title. Then below the title I added the titles birthday on left and anniversary on right with lines to add names and dates. Then put my cards behind it so I could see the list. I borrowed a cinch, loved it and bought one on eBay as I had to have it to make more projects. It came out great.
This is so good and a great idea for gifts. Made one as you went along. But I changed a couple of things and am going to use 1 1/4" O wire so it can hold cards and close a little more. Will send a picture when all done. Thanks for all you great videos. Merry Christmas to you and yours
I just discovered your channel and fell in love with your cute projects and fun personality but the bonus was when I expanded the info to references materials and saw your address was in Jemison. I live in Alabaster and oddly being so close made me proud for an Alabama girl. Congratulations on a wonderful channel!
Kim Frank Wow! I don't actually live in Jemison but I'm not too far from it. I just use that PO Box. I did graduate from Pelham High School many moons ago!! So at least in football we were rivals!
Thank you so much for sharing this, MayMay. I am making an Birthday Mini Album & needed a place to keep her Birthday cards inside the Album & this is just what I've been looking for! Yay!
Really pretty - love the harlequin print on the cover! I'll bet all your friends and relatives who watch your videos wonder if they'll be the gift recipient!!
OMG! The tutorial on how to make a greeting card organizer was amazing. I really, really love the one you made and I wish I could have the same exact one made for me. I absolutely love it.
I bought the Cinch a while back. I put it on a shelf and it hasnt moved since. I was just sure I would use it. This has inspired me. I am going to get it out, dust it off and see what I can do :)
Amy, another winner!!! I am so in love with this project. I have had my CINCH since they came out, and I think I have only used it one time. I have just been afraid to use it. Not any more!!! I have a card holder, but it is in such shambles from use that it needs to be replaced. I haven't found one, now I know why. These are going to make great gifts and I think I can even sell them online. I'm a widow and because I wasn't married to my husband at the time he retired, I lost his pension and my insurance when he died. I'm always looking for ways I can help supplement my Social Security income and this looks like one that will work for me. Fingers crossed! Thank you for sharing this.
Maymay, just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy each of your videos! Every time I watch one, I learn some new technique or get some new inspiration! I LOVE my Cinch! I've used mine a lot, but never realized that there was a center mark until now...LOL! How much easier than following the guide on the front for some projects, and especially for the covers when they are 1/4" larger than the pages. I do wish that they made some binders (more than 1 1/4") for them since my books often fan out because I add too many embellishments! Oh, yes, I LOVE the cover of your organizer! It's soooo pretty!
Great job on the book. Regards ur Clinch, on the side should be a holder that allows you to put ur binding wires and ur pages 2gether b4 u squish it 2gether.
Oh my goodness, I am so glad I found your channel, this book is so nice! I have a bind-it-all that I hardly know how to use and this project looks perfect. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me.
I love this! Now I HAVE TO get a Cinch! Been wanting one for a while now, but seeing how easy it was...I'm sold! I just love your style! Great project! I should make one of these pronto! I'm tired of being the gal who has to sign everything "belated"...lol
Thank you so much I love it and the tut. on the cinch was awesome I tried mine once and failed now I think I can do it !!! Thanks again I love all you do !!!
I just "discovered" your videos, and I have to gush over this project!!!! Fantastic! And I am definitely going to do some for my family and friends. I have a question, tho: where do you get your double-sided tapes? Also, do you have a full materials list on any of the sites that you list below this video? Thanks again for sharing your talent with us. Hugs, cat
Hi, i have a couple of questions, where can I purchase a cinch like the one in your video and what size O rings did you use to bind the book? I have a very small binder which is not suitable for this size book. I can’t seem to find one like yours. Thanks . Everything else went well except that thanks to your great instructions.
Hello! Love your videos! And I just love your scripture journal....you have been such an encouragement to me . Can you tell me where you bought the sticky paper from? God Bless!
This was great! Is your glue gun high or low temp? You seem to be touching the area. I have only used high, so was just wondering if it was the low temp?
I'm new to your channel and I have to tell you that I love your tubes, you explain things so well thank you....I want to make this card organizer so I went online to hobby lobby and can't for the life of me find the mat board, do you sell it in your store? I really want some!
Hi May May! I love this project!! I just had 2 quick questions. Did you close/adhere the right side of the page pockets down...or did you keep it open? I know the left side is closed with the cinch...but was curious about the opposite side, since those pockets didn't have flaps like the covers. Also...what size O-wire did you use for your book?? Thanks so very much!! TFS! Xo
Xo Irish Xo I did not adhere them closed, they stay shut just because of the fold. My O-wires closed perfectly with the 7/8 inch setting, I am not sure of the size because I took off the package. I won't do that again, you need to know the sizes!
I love it! You did a awesome job, with showing us and made it look so easy, thanks. If I can ask not related to the book, were did you get your extra long glue sticks at, never seen those and would love to get some..tfs. Tonya
I noted this video is 5 years old, but your projects are timeless ... good today as 5 years ago!! I would love this as a gift 👍😌.
I haven't commented much, but I really like this project. All your projects are awesome, this one is one step more.
Wonderful gift idea for elderly that don't get out much. They can stay in touch with family and the cards are ready for them to select and send. Love it!
I think I like the folder better. So cool! Thanks for sharing.
