Bro I don’t know why this is so hard to just accept and say !! Xavi picked us up when we’re down and brought us here, now flick is bringing us to another level. It’s simple
Xavi problem was only liking the first 11 starters, and could not rest some players, And Flick ❤ him, he plays everyone, he knows a team is built with more that 11 players, and players must get used in case of injury. Just imagine aquire players to stay on the bench the whole season.
Flick is amazing & best but The success hansi flick is enjoying are la masia gems found by xavi . Respect him he came to coach when nobody want to coach .
The difference is that Xavi was still using old methods of coaching which was relying only at players technicalities forgetting that modern football players also need to be physically strong. By the way no wonder Barcelona players under Xavi will get tired after 60-70 minutes during the game and our opponents knew this weaknesses.
So true I literally saw this team when losing ditching the Xavi's tactics and using there individual brilliance for scraping through a match with a win or draw prime example last season's away match against Sociedad barca were dominated both individually and tactical but some how thank god to arajho* we got an last minute winner
Hansi Flick is a Born coach. He knows how to bring out the best of every player. See how he has transformed Raphinha. How I wish Jaoao Felix were still with the team, he would have been one of the best.
Xavi prefer Barcelona players to relax defending deep and playing with the ball all around with the purpose of denying and controlling the opponents after leading by 2 or 3 goals in the second half whereas Hansi Flick players must score goals nonstop until the game is finished.
In my opinion it is unfair to compare Xavi to Flick in the sense that Flick is a well seasoned coach with tons of experience as first team coach, assistant coach for clubs and national teams. He has worked with very top players. Xavi on the other hand is relatively new to coaching. Barça was his first proper job coming straight from the Middle East. Xavi has a lot to learn in coaching and he needs to be humble and accept that. No shade to him. Has his own good qualities but needs to work on many personal aspect such as character on the touchline and all. Even putting both their names in the same sentence with respect to coaching is a big time compliment to Xavi.
It’s very simple usually great players don’t make great managers but average players make great managers eg:- klopp pep xavi Only one exception was xabi alonso bro was good being a player and a manager !!
Barca didn't win La Liga because of Xavi, we won because of our great defense and the talent of our players. There were so many sweaty late wins or 1 goal difference games that year. Tactically Xavi didn't do anything special and it was evident in the subsequent seasons. He is far from a genius coach, if we removed Xavi's name and history as a legendary player we would be a lot more critical of him. As fans we are not objective when analyzing him as a coach imo. I took the wool off my eyes when I couldn't keep turning a blind eye to the truth.
The difference between their playing style : XAVI is CHILL GUY = plays the usual 4-3-3 and relies onto players skills and positional play FLICK is VIBE GUY = plays 4-2-3-1 with high pressing and attacking the box from all sides non stop
Xavi paved the way and built the foundation and Flick is now building an empire on top of it. Kudos to Xavi and Koeman who gave a lot of chances to young players from La Masia and this has helped Flick utilize them and trust the Academy players . Pedri Gavi Fermin Fati Lamine Cubarsi Arajuo Balde are the work of Xavi and Koeman . They are the core of this team and is perfect for Flick’s high pressing , high intense gameplay.
Xavi: "We don't have money for signings, we can't compete at high level" Flick: "I don't have time for my Oktoberfest beer. Now lets train for the next win!" That's all you need to know. Mentality of a defeated man vs mentality of a winner.
according to gameplay and pedri's interview, difference coming from their technical teams. when laporta said if you want to stay, then change your team, he was serious.
I'm currently very happy with Flick right now. But I also did that when Xavi first takeover Barca. He's not that bad, he did won us two trophies in approximately 2,5 seasons as a manager. He also accepted the job when the situation in the club was at its worst and take Barca from 9th to 2nd at the end of the season. And yes, he's not that good in Europe (UCL & UEL), but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a horrible manager. In my opinion, Xavi still deserves my respect.
I'm sorry but Xavi is nowhere near sixtuple winning Flick. He's a good coach Xavi, and has incredible potential to be even better. But Flick is world class.
the way xavi left the team made me sure that the people who own barcalona are hypocrits. just because he was underperforming at a time where the fans expected better, no team can turn from complete crap to success in weeks. but thats what the people in charge want the fans to belive. IF after two or three seasons flick started to suffer bad performance, the fans will ask to kick him out.
" Hansi still needs to prove himself when it comes to that." Flick won the sextuple ... the other coach is Pep. Guess Flick needs to repeat that success with Barca.
Its unfair to compare them... Its more about which Coaching Style fits the Squad ... Thats one and the other Thing we shouldnt forget, Hansi has waaaaaaaaaaaay more experience as a Coach than Xavi. Xavi did a Damn good Job, so Stop degrading him. I think that He is responsible that some curent key Players are still there and didn't leave for another Club... Hansi wouldnt have done so Well so fast, If the Squad that Xavi mostly Put together, hadnt played together for some time now. Thats a huge Bonus for Hansi IMO
