First off I wanna say thanks. Because of your videos and my will to learn I passed all 4 subjects. At 25 I decided I’d get my GED because I have a Gov job lined up and needed it. I have some useful feedback for those wanting to take it.
I took them over the course of 2 days in this order Social studies 169, Science 159. Then Math 149 and RLA 160. I studied 45 hours total over one month, 40 of those hours were math. Rest was science.
I’m sure every test is different but this was my experience
    Social Studies & Science (Easiest)
I was initially nervous about the time. At 2.5 minutes a question I thought I’d break under pressure. I ended both social studies and science with over 35 minutes to spare. However, I didn’t get one punnet square question and I spent probably three hours learning chemical equations, but I only got one of those. Same with the conversions of kph/mph & Celsius to Fahrenheit. I was really hoping I would get those, but I didn’t get any.
    Math (study for this one)
Math had me nervous as I never got past basic algebra in highschool. So watching your videos, I was learning stuff I never have before. I knew I needed to study a lot on the subject. I studied for pretty much everything test prep champions posted. However I only got stumped on quite a few types of questions so with process of elimination I made an educated guess on probably 10. Just knowing that two negatives make a positive helped me on a question. It’s the little things and if I didn’t know how to use the calculator, it would’ve probably been a fail.
There was only 1 mean and 1 median question. 1 percent question. No scientific notation questions. There were no slope questions that involved a graph. However I got very hard slope questions like
    “Find the slope y-2(5)8=-5/2(x-3)”
    Then had 4 answers.
Function problems were a bit hard
The inequality problems were very hard.
    4(x+1/2)-2(X+3/2)

You're welcome, congratulations!! Thank you for typing all of this out too and sharing your experiences! It helps me because it gives me a better idea of what to cover in my videos and I'm sure it'll help everyone who reads it get a better idea of what the test is like too. Wishing you the best of luck with whatever's coming next for you!

It was very helpful thanks fo4 sharing. I wanted to what kind of passage did you get on your rla test were they history or nonfiction

    • @RickyLaFluer7

@@asmoabdullhi6905 the "read the passage" questions for example would have 1 passage that you will read and their labeled by paragraphs. The questions ask "in paragragh 3 what did the..." ect. most were just random fictions books. You'll get 5-8 questions per passage so really over 35 questions theres 4-5 different reads. You'll read essentially one page of an entire book. one was an argumentative type where 2 people give their opinions about the pros and cons of letting your kids use wifi, phones and such. the author asks questions regarding what each persons view was. and how their wording would effect the reader. however u will most likely get different questions

Hi, first Congrats for getting your GED
I have a question, I took the rla GED test 4 times and failed it it’s my last test I’m trying to practice on my reading comprehension skills. I will retake the rla test on Tuesday and I’m starting studying today( my schedule is first taking the ged ready test every day for the next 3 days, watch UA-cam videos, practice on read theory and review the lessons that I need to study from the Kaplan book ) what do you think if I did this schedule for the next 3 days should I be able to pass the test?.

Hi I want to say thank you for all your videos. You explain very well and easy to understand, my first language is Spanish. Next month I'm going to take reading test. I failed two times, but I want to pass this time. I only have the reading part left to finish my Hiset. What you recommend to me to improve my reading skills?

If you skip the essay the test gets angry at you and mandates a 10 minute break. Once the ten minutes is up a proctor has to type in a username and password before you can resume.

I never recommend skipping the extended response, but it is possible to pass without doing it if you do well on the multiple choice. It's up to you to decide. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Hi, thank you for watching. First, sorry to hear you've had to retake RLA multiple times. Unfortunately, I can't say for sure if you will pass or not by doing this. It sounds like you're working hard and putting in the effort, which is always important. I'm really hoping it goes well for you. Good luck and thanks again for watching!
