Can't get enough of these engine assembly videos, I could watch this for hours. Really well done, Jarred (hope I got your name right), always looking forward to the next episode.
Excellent! Dumb question, but did you time the cam to the crank? I saw the timing mark on the cam gear but didn't see a corresponding mark? Oh and I've heard from 'old timers' that you should avoid touching the crank/rod bearings babbit surface with your fingers unless they have been soaked in oil first. Supposedly, the oils from your skin may somehow affect the babbit surface and its ability to interact with engine oil. This may just be so much bs but who knows. Good to see Walter!! I'm looking forward to see this thing run!! It will be a blast to tool around in the FJ - like a giant toy you can drive.
joe sixpack thanks for the info. Yeah, there’s a small “0” on the crank gear that lines up with the timing mark on the cam gear. It’s hard to see in the video👍
Michael Lau very different than the Honda! She said what are you baking... I said just a gear off the car... she shook her head and walked away. I took that as permission 👍
una pregunta amigo yo tengo un motor igual a ese ya le cambie la bomba de aceite y aun asi me baja la presion de aceite que puedo hacer para que le suba en caliente llega a casi cero y en frio a casi 70 gracias

Looks better than factory to me and Walter. This FJ40 will turn out real nice.
Thanks for your hard effort and sharing it, Keep doing it please and we will follow!
Nice job well done.
Excelente trabajo. Sería posible que subieras algo sobre la caja de dirección 😁👍🏻
Excellent! Really really good job man
Sorush Sabet-Rasekh thanks buddy!
Your wife lets you put parts in the oven? She must be a saint.
Should always torque those crankshaft bolts a second time. You'd be surprised how many times they need it.
Bro you doing this is the "hospital room", I did in the desert, boy it was difficult for me to put the cam gear back on the cam
Amigo buen trabajo tengo un carro similar de cuanto seria el costo por un trabajo parecido

From Whom did you source your pistons and bearings from
I don’t remember, sorry. I did this a while back.
I notice all the cool pictures hanging for all the cars you work on. Where do you get these from?
AARON PENA I just find them online and print them out. I have a large printer so they’re easy to replace.👍
Great, it s quite a differnce to the tiny Honda crank. Was your wife allowing to heat it in the oven? :-)

@@Jerod_Helt Congratulation for such a relaxed wife :-)
Did you get a 2F engine? If not where did you find these parts?
It’s the original 1F engine. I rebuilt it. Most parts came from Spector Off Road
@@Jerod_Helt Thanks for the info, I Got a 69 FJ40 I'm going to restore. Awesome videos, Thank you for making them!

It could be that your main bearings are worn… or maybe there’s a blockage somewhere.
JNH, Would you like to come to France to redo my
engine BJ42 ?
