A very impressive outfit. Are the spreader axles driven? It just amazes me the amount of technology there is now fitted to lime spreaders and tractors, also of course the size some of them have got up to, it certainly makes our now retired Land Drive spreaders look ancient, even though at the time they were the best spreaders around giving us 4 and 6 wheel drive outfits coupled to our old Massey's. With regards from an ex spreader man.
Hi Cloudmaker, Thanks for your comments. The two spreader axles are not driven like your land drive spreader and like our previous transpread machine and the rear steering axle is passive steer. The reason for the front bucket on the tractor is that when we require extra traction we simply drive into the lime heap and fill the bucket putting upto 2 1/4t on the front of the tractor. We have also designed and fitted the mid section hydraulic door inside the spreader hopper allowing us to keep the weight at the front of the spreader when necessary, all this helps traction on steep or wet land alleviating the need for driven axles. Thanks for watching. Graham
@@grahamsimcox3479 That’s a tidy outfit Graham!👌🏻 I like the simple and effective engineering in regards to the front bucket and the mid section door to do away with the need for driven axles. Some machines have got pretty complexed these days in regards to this sort of stuff driving the cost of the machines through the roof and over complicating a otherwise straightforward machine!
