- Hayling Island, Hampshire, 1974, on the Havant Road. Amateur 8mm film. A jumble of clips from three separate occasions. The landlord of the B&B kept cage birds and was a big Pompey fan. Adders lived in the scrub grass by the shoreline.
The man at 2.12 probably now has a sensible haircut and works as a chartered accountant!
Nice film of times gone by and I enjoyed the music. Thank you.
Great choice of music for this fun video 🙃
I lived there and was 9 when that was filmed :) Fun to see it again as it was in the 70s.
In fact he went on to become a senior manager in telecoms R&D, retired recently, and lives in the North of England! Never judge a book by its cover!
Who did, was his name Tony Foster by chance, old school mate! Cheers
'Fraid not. He's Andrew Taylor.
My dad was born this day and lived here:0
I was a semi pro musician in 1974 and our lead guitarist , lived on Hayling Island. I was regularly stopped by the police late at night having dropped off our guitarist and on my way home to north Portsmouth. They were surprise surprise 'pigs'
this film reminds me how crummy everything was in those days
0.58 Looks like the road to Fishermans walk with Elliotts caravan park to the right.
