I would recommend kasol,himachal pradesh(himalayan state). Many isrealis live in that region and it is also called mini isreal in india. Kasol is one of the beautiful destination in himachal pradesh.
The roads constructions are gona be complete in few months all over jammu , after that the journey would be way nicer and safer. The distance would reduce and the drive would be way more fun. There were single lane roads in the hills , now double lanes are been made and roads are being widen so for few months its gpna be a problem. People who wana enjoy jammu and kashmir visit next year and you will love it here. For now jammu City , katra , patnitop, kashmir and leh ladakh would be a better choice for tourists.

Seriously though, I drive from Jammu to Kashmir 50 years ago. Dangerous but spectacular journey and would love to do it again one day.
