  • This was a little fault I had to find. Due to the kitchen already being in I wanted to make little damage as possible. This Is where maths came in to pin point exactly where it was. I watched a video of ​⁠‪@dsesuk‬ showing this a while back and honestly it is an outstanding video as he explains it much better than I did. #electrician #sparky #electricalwork #faultfinding

    Great video showing how to use information readily available to fault find.
    Yes DS did a similar video but I quite liked yours as it was in a occupied setting and therefore a tad harder..well done mate

    If the fault wasnt apparent, could you just use a tone generator to find out where the fault/break was?

    Only works if you know the route of the cable.

    Did you not need to divide the R1R2 divided by two to get just the run of a single cable. R1 R2 is doubled up. Am I missing something. Good video

    Am I correct in saying 10m 1.5/1.0 is roughly0.30

    At 2 minutes you do 'continuity' but you've not linked your N + E out so can't measure continuity. Reading should be 999 since the ends of your N and E are open. Is it the fault which is giving you a continuity reading?

      They’re not, mate. It’s already linked as he has a N-E short on that cable.
